Yangshi Chinese Medicine

Yangshi Chinese Medicine is in a home in a nice neighborhood. I went for acupuncture to for stress, insomnia and knee pain. I loved the experience. She was very professional, kind and helpful. My time there was calming and well spent. Yana starts off with many questions to access where you need help. She places the needles very carefully and allows you to rest while they are working their magic. Then at the end she works in a massage with lavender (maybe others too) oils. I felt much better after the session and went back a few times and will go back again. Totally worth the cost.

What is acupuncture anyway other than needles being impaled all over your body to somehow relive pain? Was I skeptical to trying this, absolutely! Yana is a referral from my doctor and is supposed to do wonders on people for a variety of ailments. She also incorporates cupping, which I think I’ve only seen on TV and leave large circle like hickies all over you. I came to see Yana a few weeks ago to help me with stress reduction and low energy levels, and let me tell you, after 60 minutes with her I felt like a brand new Berneta, and my energy levels were through the roof.
I am not going to lie, it is awkward, I had needles in my head, on my face, on all my limbs and those bamboo cupping devices attached to my stomach. I was also hooked up to an electrical device that made my limbs involuntarily move like a Frankenstein project. I felt like a porcupine that couldn’t move but it was worth it. I didn’t really feel any sensation at all.
My boyfriend that came with me was told by Yana that had more «ouchies» than me and was worked on for old sports injuries. The problem areas on him were also patched up with some kind of menthol muscle relaxing adhesives.
Yana finished with a to die for body massage with some kind of peppermint/​rosemary herbal oil after the treatment was over.
Will I do this again, absolutely and maybe for a few other things, it made me feel wonderful for a few days. This is highly recommended if western meds/​practices don’t work, the Chinese have been practicing this for 2000 years, I think they are on to something.

I have been seeing Yana for years and for a variety of issues. None of my issues are major, she treats all my sprains or achy muscles, sinus issues and even facial acupuncture for that youthful glow.
I can’t recommend her enough. I live in the Bay Area now but still see her about 3x a year when I am back in Honolulu.

Currently, I have now been seeing Dr. «Yana» for over 3 ½ YEARS! I cannot STOP and just LOVE her treatments and just how SPECIFIC she can treat certain things that I bring to her attention! It is THE BEST 1 hour of sleep I get a WEEK!
Let me set it up and WHY I am telling you this:
* I am diabetic and have been since being detected in 1985.
* I started with oral medication, then to insulin, then because I am on Dialysis now, I have been taken off ALL medication — Injection OR Oral. (NOT the greatest way — let me tell you — 3x’s a week for 4 HOURS!)
Anyway, along with that comes diabetic neuropathy, specifically in the feet, legs, then hands and arms. I asked her if she could treat me for that as well as continuing the treatment for the weakness in my right side (leg and arms) from my multiple strokes I had back in the end of 2008/​beginning of 2009.
* She has been treating my feet now for almost a year with EXCELLENT results! It may NOT be for everybody — BUT — why NOT try it if you are suffering from Neuropathy? What do you have to lose except financially, AND if it WORKS, you will PREVENT losing your TOES, FEET, even LEGS, FINGERS, and ARMS!
Proof enough for me and MY FEET!
So — I see her every Thursday, and if I miss a week (like this past Thursday with Thanksgiving holiday), my FEET and my BODY tells me! My feet get tingly, then NUMBI I walk into the treatment room (like TODAY!) with COLD feet (poor circulation) and walk out — feet WARM! If THAT isn’t proof for me, I cannot tell you what IS! (*Hint — If you’re seeing a podiatrist, DO NOT TEEL your DOCTOR! They do NOT like «holes» — even VERY SMALL ONES — because if you do NOT take care of your feet, you are prone to INFECTION and THAT is WHY!)
So I just wanted to update everyone that IF you are having diabetic nerve pain, aka: Neuropathy, ESPECIALLY in your feet, give it a try with a REAL Acupuncture Doctor — That is Certified and LICENSED here in HAWAII!
