Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk

We booked a 2 bedroom suite from VRBO which was perfect for our family 7. Two bedrooms/​two bathroom and balcony which overlooked the pool & parking garage. It was a perfect condo like apartment which had:
1. Master suite with ensuite bathroom, TV
2. Bedroom with 2 double beds, TV
3. Queen sofa pullout in living room with TV
4. Compact washer & dryer with laundry soap
5. Fully stocked kitchen with coffee, salt n pepper, popcorn, rice cooker, utensils, dish soap, dishwasher soap, oyster box for cooking grease, recycle bags, etc.
6. Hallway full bathroom with tub/​shower and single sink.
The location is perfect as the ABC store next door had a full deli in the back with hot & cold made to order food. Surf shops and restaurants are all along Lewers and you are also a block away from a good truck court.

We rented a 1-​bedroom deluex suite for 26 nights from a timeshare owner. We understand we are not a timeshare owner but we werent expected to be treated sooo differently than a «VIP owner». I researched in advance knowing that their 1-​bedroom deluex suite can range from 400 sqft to 880 sqft, so I called in advance and requested a larger unit to accomodate my 1-​year old baby and her pack and play. We understand that 26 nights is a loooong stay and we are willing to move during the middle of our stay to get a nice room eventually. However, upon check-​in, we were given a room that has a bad mildew smell, and we immediately requested a different room, which is a corner-​unit that has a weird layout with the bathroom in the middle of the room, with two connecting doors. And the bedroom is weird in shape and the pack-​and play has to move out of the bedroom when not in-​use, so that we can go to the bathroom from the bedroom. Anyway, it is very inconvenient but because the room doesnt have a mildew odor, we stay there and I check with the front-​desk on a daily basis to ask for a room change. However, it has been 10 nights now since we arrived but all the other rooms that were offered to us had a really bad mildew odor, potentially from a water leakage or the sprinkler might have flooded the carpet. Housekeeper tried to spray air freshner to cover it, but with an infant travelling with us, we cant accept this as mold present health hazards, it is actually against the law to rent apartment out with mold (at least in California, not sure about Hawaii).
Anyway, on several occasion, when I went to talk to the front desk, I was told that the «better» units are reserved for their VIP and timeshare owners, so be prepared to be treated like lower level citizens if you are not a wyndham timeshare owner, even though I paid $ 5600 for 26 nights, plus the $ 35/​night valet parking. Their rooms are VERY different and we were being put in the smallest room within our room category.
THis is my 11^th night and I still have 15 nights left, and I will keep asking for a room change.

Loved this place. Close to the beach, close to the shops and super roomie. We got a 2 bedroom place and was convenient with a great view.
Bose sound system, flat screen tv in each room, jacuzzi, beach and shower towels, etc. Yep totally like an apartment.
Having a kitchen, washer and dryer and those «apartment» amenities make a HUGE difference! I mean we were cooking, drinking at the room with other friends and still had lots of room. Not to mention we saved a lot of money.
Parking was expected to be expensive but we parked on the streets and moved the car early in the morning to do our activities so it was not an issue. I understand that big cities are tricky when it comes down to parking.
Will definitely stay there again. Loved everything about it and missing the beach life already!

Clean rooms with well stocked kitchen. The pool is deep, shallowest area is 5 feet, so kids need to be well supervised. No lifeguard on duty. The kiddies pool is a buy a backyard pool from Kmart version. Location is fantastic, right in the heart of Waikiki. Easy 5 – 10 mi walk to the beach. I recommend taking the beach path next to the cheesecake factory as it leads to a less rocky part of Waikiki Beach. It’s a bit of a pain if you have strollers or luggage

Excellent location in the middle of it all. Generally well kept and nice interactions. Picture of pool… hmmm. imagine it much smaller than pictured.

Great location within walking distance of everything. Staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive to your needs. Will be back for certain.

This review is long over due. My family and I stayed at here for our vacation 2 years ago, March of 2013. We absolutely loved staying here. They have everything that you may possibly need in the kitchen to make meals. The 2 bedroom condo was very spacious. We had 7 adults, 1 child, and 1 infant staying in the 2 bedroom condo. The bedrooms are very spacious as well. Staff was not pushy at all about purchasing timeshares. Loved this condo and I would stay here again. The location is perfect. About a 5 – 8 minute walk to Waikiki Beach. Overall we had a wonderful stay. The only thing that I didn’t like was the daily crazy high parking fee.

I am a senior, who has dedicated my retirement to raising my two grandchildren, and trying to make sure their lives will be better then the ones they had before. Wyndham knew this information, yet they still raked us over the coals, talk about legalized scamming. I now pay over 900 dollars every two years for a hotel room that is not kept up well at all! And these are fees that we are suppose to be paying just for that. letting this company talk you into going to their meetings are stealing your vacation and money you really can’t afford, and do you know what they said??? You signed the contract… Not so nice now!!! Read your contract very carefully, and don’t make fast decisions, even if they pressure you, because they are real good at verbal promises, and all you get back is… We didn’t say that!!! I hate everything about this company…

my last review from our amazing trip!
location is wonderful!!! five min walk from the beach. if your a little slower then maybe seven. no more than ten for sure. this review is based on a= two bedroom suite room 327.
pros:
location to the waikiki beach.
downstairs leads to the «beachwalk» so many restaurants and stores.
three tvs: one in each bedroom and then the livingroom.
fully equipped kitchen.
two full bathrooms.
overall nice suites in décor.
washer and dryer in suite.
cons:
ugh the sale pitch from the resorts desk. first (after the checkin desk), second (the next morning calling me as im walking to the beachwalk!), third (in a phonecall the third morning), then fourth (a second phonecall the middle of the trip!).
the wifi was so bad from my unit.
the balcony views. four balconies total but only one was decent facing starbucks.

We were a family of two staying in a two bedroom condo. Upon arrival we noticed that our room faced the construction side, so we asked to be changed to a unit on the other side. Wyndham quickly accommodated our request and moved all our luggage inside the room for us. I was impressed with the quality of the stainless steel cooking utensils and equipment. Everything worked well from the kitchen, to the laundry to the restrooms. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for two toddlers to run around. The pool is on the small side and it happen to be very windy every time we went. So I ended up spending more time in the jacuzzi. The premises was very clean and the hotel clerks were friendly and helpful (although a little pushy with their timeshare presentation thing). Parking is a little steep $ 35/​day so if you don’t mind a little walk just look around the block for street parking or another lot which will probably be $ 10 – 15 cheaper. Great location just a couple blocks away from the beach, a few steps away from the mall and restaurants.

Been here about 3 – 4 times and it never disappoints. I’m lucky enough to have a timeshare here and definitely take advantage of it.

Fun activities (separate from my trip, my parents had visited earlier this year and did a vows renewal for fun)
Great accommodations (love the full kitchens)
Parking — Close to elevator, friendly valet guys.
Restrooms on the lobby floor — Easy access (with key). When you’re just walking the area of the Beach Walk it’s nice to have access to a clean restroom. lol
Several room accomodations: 1 Bedroom, 2 Bedroom, Suites, etc.
Cons:
Small pool (but do you really need a pool when the beach is within walking distance? Not really that big of a deal to me.)
Parking — Valet only at $ 35/​night per car! I feel like the price goes up every year! It’s Waikiki though… not many options here. Hard to find if you’ve never been there before.
Timeshare calls — I always know going in that I’ll get asked to stop by for a presentation with a perk. On long trips it’s fine, but when I’m only in town for 3 days, it’s hard to make time.
Presidential Suites — If you stay on the 14^th floor you have a separate elevator that doesn’t go all the way to the parking garage. I guess it’s okay when you can use the escalator from the lobby floor, but very annoying when you have strollers or luggage since you have to transfer to another elevator for 1 more floor down. They make it seem like it’s a special elevator, but it’s smaller and used all the time by staff.
Notes:
Valet Parking — Right after you drive by the front of the hotel entrance from the street make the immediate left turn (looks like an alley) and valet entrance will be on your left. If you plan on leaving again, let valet know so they leave your car near the front, also let them know when you’re done for the night so they can park your car accordingly.
Rental Car: You don’t really need a rental car for your entire stay unless you have kids with you. If I didn’t have a toddler with me, I would taxi everything and take shuttles… it’ll pretty much equal your rental car costs parking.

Very nice and spacious rooms. They also have a weight room, pool table room and ping pong. The pool and jacuzzi are very night. Only gave 4 stats because it’s very pricy!

Walked by this place and some crazy horrible sales man approached me and my wife. He was the rudest and would not leave us alone. Stay away. It’s a scam

First time visiting Hawaii and this was a great place to stay because it is only a short walk to the beach and right across the street from a nice shopping area. They get dinged a star because when we arrived our room wasn’t ready for another 2 hours and when we got back they told us one building, but our room was in another building. So there was a lot of confusion there.
The swimming pool was tiny, but I am not really complaining about that because the beach is close by and I’d rather be in that warm water then the warm water in the pool.
Loved the view from the room. I could take good selfies with the beach in the background.

I couldn’t ask for a better place to stay for a rookie Hawaiian! I stayed at a 2 bdrm/​2 bath time share hotel in the heart of the Waikiki district!
The good– LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! The place is situated in the middle of retail stores and is within walking distance to Waikiki Beach!!! Inside the unit felt like home to me as it did have a wonderful kitchen and living room…
The bad– the pool and Jacuzzi… Used it once because I am in training for a triathlon, but I couldn’t beat a bigger pool that was a block away! Also, I never understood the use of a hotel key for the elevator…

We rented a 2 bed 2 bath unit on the 8^th floor. The unit was wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for the price.
Pros:
Close to the Beach without being beachfront or having beachfront prices.
Shopping and restaurants galore within easy walking distance.
Wifi when it works
Discounts at some local restaurants
Nice units.
Staff is responsive to problems.
Cons:
Sales pitch even before you settle in. They want you to tour the property and attend a presentation. We avoided it but it was uncomfortable being pitched. We felt stalked for the first few days because we didn’t get our «welcome packet» right away. We were tired from our flight and just wanted to be left alone, but they kept calling the room and inserting cards under the door until we got the packet. Tip: Get the packet, it has all the discounts and perks. Only go to the presentation if you care and want to spend 90 minutes for the goodies.
View. not the best. you can see part of the ocean, but mostly you see buildings.
Pool: Not idea for kids. starts out at 5′ deep and goes to 7′ so if you have little ones it’s not for them.
Dryer: A washer /​dryer in the unit is a plus, but if you are not used to humid climates you’ll be shocked at how long the dryer takes to get things dry. Towels, about 2.5 hours.
Porch: The unit as 3 porches that you can sit on but they are tiny. There is room for one person. It’s a bit creepy to be wedged against the rail and looking 8 floors down. I know it’s safe but your life is in the hands of a railing that is hopefully secure. If you are overweight you may get stuck between the rail and the sliding door, it’s that small.

I came to stay here for the first time at the beginning of Jan 2014 and it was my 1^st time in Hawaii as well.
Location of this hotel is smack down in the heart of Wakiki. There are alot of different stores and restaurates as you exit the hotel which was a real plus. The beach is only a block away and you most likely be visiting ABC Store ALOT to get anything from alcohol, food, to souvenirs.
Pros: My friends and I stayed in a two bedrooms, two bathrooms, with a big living room. The room also had a washer and dryer as well. The room 301 faced the swimming pool area of the hotel and adjacent to the parking lot of the next hotel. No beach view from this hotel. The valet parking is the basement of the hotel.
Con: if you are looking to get wifi in your room, most likely it will not work. The router is on the 2^nd and 5^th floor. The only time in could get wifi on my ipad was to sit outside on the balcony. I couldn’t get wifi on my phone even when I sat on the balcony. I even called the front desk for help. They sent up an IT person but he was no help at all. Seems like he didn’t know how to fit the problem. Then there was a lady at the front desk that gave me a hard time when I ask for a map on bus route. She keep staying who’s name is on the room and when I answer her she wouldn’t listen. Dude just give me a map and call it a day or just tell me which bus to get onto. Watch out if the reps here are trying to get you to purchase a time share.

This is a timeshare, if you couldn’t tell from the salespeople herding in tourists from the street.
If you bought one, or found a way to stay here, you will enjoy it.
Great location — plenty of food and shopping nearby. The beach is a block away, and make sure you visit the Sheraton (rum fire) and the Royal Hawaiian (Mai tai bar) hotels that are right behind the Wyndam. Note, both these bars have happy hours with great sunsets — just make the 5 minute walk.
The pool is small, and you can’t count on the Internet, but hey, who comes to Hawaii to browse the Internet anyway?
Tip– cut through the Sheraton to Waikiki beach — bring the pool towels from your room.

My 2^nd time in Hawaii, but first time in a hotel in Hawaii, and Wyndham was a great choice!
Location: great location! In the middle of everything, luxury row, shopping centers, fine & casual dining, bars, beaches, everything!
Rooms: We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. The master bedroom was a regular hotel room itself, so was the 2^nd bedroom. One king, 2 fulls, and a sofa bed. The place was an apartment. All rooms had balcony access! Since it was a timeshare, they didn’t clean everyday, you only get one cleaning per week… which sucked because it left us to vacuum the sand on the floor…
Amenities: the have a full frig, all utensils, stoves, everything, it was like staying at someone’s apartment. The pool has towels were you can bring to the beach. The place itself would have daily activities from ice cream social to a luau performance dance with free dinner, pool tables, ping pong, pizza night, etc.
GREAT for families! We had 7 adults and 2 kids and we all slept comfortably. The place was easy to find and great access for everything! Even next to a bar (which you get 10% off for hotel guest)
Couldn’t ask for a better stay though! Great amenities!

It’s been 2 years since I have been to Honolulu and I had my concerns when I was making my reservation through WYNDHAM due to my experience in 2011, but I was happy that I stayed with them again this time. And YES! They got rid of that nightclub downstairs so I actually got sleep this time!
STAFF: As usual, the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Wyndham was overbooked and they gave me a complimentary upgrade to a 2-​Bedroom Suite during my 4 days stay in Honolulu.
ROOM: The 2-​Bedroom Suite included 2 bedrooms (duh…) Master bedroom with a king size bed, and guest bedroom with 2 full size bed. 2 Bathrooms, Pullout sofa in the living room, kitchen, washer & dryer. There were total of 3 balconies in my suite. Small and not-​connecting, but at least I get a view of Lewers street this time.
PROS:
— One block from Waikiki Beach
CONS:
— $ 35/​day valet parking: You don’t really have a choice. It’s Waikiki and space is limited. Valet guys are friendly and fast in retrieving your vehicles.
— Water Pressure: It’s better than last time, but I wish they have stronger showers.
OVERALL: I had an awesome time in WYNDHAM BEACHWALK this time. Since checkout is 10am, and my flight going home is not until 9pm, they were very helpful with storing my luggage downstairs, and offered a courtesy room to freshen up before my flight. The courtesy room is available on a first-​come-​first-​serve, and 15 minutes per guest. If you want to use the courtesy room, you might want to check with the counter and see if there are any available on the day of your check-​out.
