Not sure where to post this since Ward Village consists of 5 blocks of shops and restaurants so I’ll just post here. Visit their website if you must: A co-worker was fundraising Ward’s Festival of Giving passports($ 10) for Nov. 6 – 8& it’s the first time I really took advantage! Over 90 merchants participated & it was the perfect time to get an early start on my Christmas shopping, ahead of the dreaded Black Friday. Less crowds, same sweet deals(For me I think it’s better than Black Friday.) Win-win! Most of my purchases were for me though, haha. I took advantage of: The Face Shop: 20% off storewide. Good for only 1 time so you must buy it all at 1 time. Novel T World — 15% off. The Sports Authority — 15% off storewide, including sale items. Big Island Delights — 15% off. Hakubundo — 20% off. Honolulu Chocolate Company– 15% off. Happy Wahine — 20% off. Diem Café — 10% off. If you didn’t pre-purchase passports they were offering it for purchase throughout different areas of the mall. Certain restrictions applied but they provide you with a brochure of what the merchants were offering. If you spent more than $ 150 during the festival you could redeem your saved receipts for a $ 15 gift certificate from Ryan’s Grill or Kincaid’s. I came close but I’m not that much of a big spender. Thank you Ward Village & participating merchants! I have never had so much fun shopping in a long time.

Not sure why the high ratings are here. First of all, the Village Shops are not connected to each other. You have to cross the streets to get to one section to another. Second of all, while the shops are good, there is nothing unique or spectacular about them.

TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack are two of our favorite stores in the Ward area, and we usually shop in one or both of them two or three times per week. Usually, I will finish my shopping within 30 minutes but my friend usually takes another 30 minutes to an hour. I usually roll down the windows on my car, take out my Kindle and read while waiting for my friend to finish his shopping. This evening one security man rode around the level two or three times and then about 3 minutes later another security person, on foot, approached me and asked if I was going to shop. I told him that I was finished and was waiting for my friend to finish. He told me I couldn’t wait in my car! I had to go back into the store and wait! I was in my own car, reading my Kindle and there were only about 6 cars around me on the fifth level – almost empty. I think this is the most ridiculous situation I have ever encountered while shopping. I phoned TJ Maxx and talked to a friendly manager who told me that HERMANAGER had had the same problem when she decided to spend her lunch break in her own car! I was told that there have been several break-ins recently, and they(Ward Security) were being ‘strict’. I wasn’t loitering around the parking lot. There were only about a half dozen cars on the floor anyway, and they were far away. The lone bench inside the door at TJ Maxx was occupied as were the benches between the two stores. Would security prefer that I drive around the parking level 50 or 60 times while waiting for my friend to finish shopping? That’s loitering! The whole incident is just plain nonsense. Rethink your security policy, people.

Ward Village is a modern day shopping & dining place. I walked from Ward Warehouse to newly renovated Ward Village and it was such a nice walk. I love all the stores. They’re fresh and clean. I do miss Borders and other stores that used to be there. But you gotta move with time, right? Construction is still going on in the area but you can hardly tell because you don’t hear too much noise. It’s amazing to see how quickly things are being built. I got to try Zpizza today. I’m looking forward to trying other eateries near future.

Where are the additional stars for this shopping center? This is my FAVORITEPLACETOSHOP! How confusing is it though when you have Ward Center, Ward Warehouse, Ward Gateway, Ward, ward, ward, ward, ward! Just too many WARDS for such a condensed area. Sorry, random rant. This place is my one-stop-shop-till-you-drop(literally!) place. It’s home to my favorite brands — Pier 1 Imports, Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. It’s the perfect concoction for some serious retail therapy. There is garage parking for these shops and I never(knocking on wood) have an issue with finding parking. There aren’t any food places at these shops however across the street boasts a variety of places that might suit your taste.

This shopping complex currently houses a large parking structure for Pier 1 Imports, Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. More stores are planned to open such as a flagship Whole Foods Market of over 50,000 sq.ft. The Howard Hughes Corporation has grand plans for this area to create 2 luxury and ultra-luxury residential condominiums, Anaha and Waiehu. Additionally, there will be a separate residential condominium dedicated to accommodate the«workforce» community. Currently, there are other residential towers such as the Hokua, Ko’olani, Nauru, Honua and Hawaiiki in this area that leads up to Ala Moana Shopping Center. This area is becoming a well-planned and thoughtful pedestrian mall with free WiFi access throughout. We like this complex for its location to diverse entertainment and dining options. Residents in and visitors to this area can stroll the mall while enjoying their slice of Hawaiian Paradise.
