Vive Hotel

The Vive is a small hotel I picked with my Hawaiian Air Vacation package.
Pros: Convenient location near Waikiki Beach. Clean room. Pleasant staff. Free and fast Wi-​Fi. No resort fees. Free use of beach toys. Complimentary continental breakfasts. Fare price.
Cons: Noisy air conditioner. No lanai. Small room. No bar or restaurant.
Would I stay here again? Not sure.

It was a wonder stay at Vive hotel. Staff was amazing with us and super helpful. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Hanama bay, the famous flea market and pearl Harbor. This hotel is just a few blocks away from the beach and in the heart of wakiki.
The room are an the smaller side BUT super clean and trendy. Will definitely recommend my friends and family!

We wanted a nice Waikiki hotel experience for the first night of our trip and Vive was right on the money! Flying from NYC meant we were extraustred. The staff was perfectly hospitable with fresh pineapple juice and cold cloths at the desk. Valet service was excellent. The room was slightly smaller than we are used to but in hindsight was fine. Bathroom was clean with a nice shower head. Complimentary breakfast is truly complimentary, full of fresh fruit, pastries, and even pastries that have a little egg hidden in them.
Then there is the bed. Super comfy. Then, just when you’re rather impressed with the bed, you hit the pillow.
Vive, please let us know where you get your pillows because it’s been three weeks and I still think about them every night. You might ship one to me in return for this review?

We are staying here for the first few days of our 2 week honeymoon.
PROS: Location to Waikiki beach less than 3 minutes walk to the beach; price compared to other hotels around the area; reception are very helpful; FREE Wifi definitely fast connection.
Cons: rooms are small; not recommended for more than 3 people in the room. Has exhaust in the bathroom but too little to make. Major and quick effect
Bed is comfy; aircon working well; shower cap needs fixing but not a major issue.
Yet to try their breakfast as complimentary to booking reservation.

I forgot when I gave a hotel ⁵⁄₅ but these guys did everything to make us and our stay happy. From courtesy room to free room tablets to friendly staff and service. I don’t think it happens anywhere even in trump hotel. I stay anywhere from 0 star to 6 star places and these guys know what means to keep their guests happy. Check their penthouse suits. Nothing less than a 5 star hotel. The only thing that can be improved is the breakfast.

Modern chic boutique hotel but noisy rooms with poor sound insulation between other hotel rooms and bathrooms. When your neighbor takes a shower you will hear the sound of the water gushing in the pipes. The AC unit is the size of a microwave with a noisy and underpowered blower. You will hear the sound of the low frequency bass filled drone all night long. Low quality Windows. Even in floors close to 10 Levels from the street you will hear traffic noise, including the sound of any construction encapsulation wrap that blows in the wind next door. And if you turn off your AC you will hear your neighbors AC unit on all night.
All this at a price of over $ 250 per night.

Quality and service of staff is phenomenal! Location is grew; close to strip and of course near ABC shops. Just a block and a half from the beach and a wonderful stroll to the strip. Prices are fair; rooms on the smaller size but really how much do you plan on being inside? Exactly.

Upon arrival, the front desk was welcoming and gracious. The attitude and atmosphere was relaxing and they made you feel like, you were on vacation. The rooms are cute and especially clean and yes, I said cute.
The hotel provides a Continental Breakfast from 7am-9:30 am, get there early, a lot of folks wake up early to get their day going. But there is plenty of food, fresh fruit, pastries and toast, fresh juices and especially Kona coffee. Wonderful breakfast spots walking distance but why not take advantage of the nice breakfast that they provide.
Conveniently located 2 blocks away from Waikiki Beach and a ton of retail shops– personally I do not like shopping but the beach was awesome.
If the beach is your thing, the Hotel provides: beach chairs, towels, body boards and beach mats… just ask the front desk.
10 Stars for their concierge KC. Local and knowledgeable! Small world, KC has lived in SF, bar tended in a couple of Epic spots out there and played in a couple of venues in SF and Oakland. I forgot the band that she plays in…

A great cruise, the sunset was beautiful and the liquor was flowing. The crew was awesome.
KC also recommended a couple of hikes that, unfortunately we were not able to try. Next time though.
Overall the whole stay was awesome. The price per night was very good and the customer service/​ambience was great.
Looking forward to our next stay at the Hotel Vive.

I was in Waikiki last week on vacation for 5 nights. I happened to pass by this Vive hotel I have been reading about on line, I went in the lobby to check the hotel and their room rates. As a visitor, not a guest, got a cup of coffee in the lobby, in my assumption that the lobby coffee was for visitor too inquiring information about the hotel. One female behind the counter told me twice the coffee was for guest only. This kind of unprofessional treatment of a visitor, who might stay in that hotel in the future, was unfriendly and rude.
I made up my mind not to stay in this hotel in the future.

Truly underrated.
Staff: always a friendly environment, they’re very helpful from getting a iron delivered to the room — to getting as many towels as you need. Please tip the valet people, there is only one of them per shift and they run around non-​stop & they are really helpful with hiking advise, places to eat locally.
Breakfast: Free! nothing better than that right? Each day they have a small protein available (hot dogs, spam etc) fresh fruits & coffee that’ll do the trick.
Room: first thing I look at is bed & bathroom, spent along time on Unilocal looking for hotels that didn’t have bedbugs and cockroaches (had a bunch of pics on Unilocal showing the bites people have gotten) And I was relieved that it was spotless and bug free.
if you hate great hotels don’t go here. I definitely recommended it to my friends and family, I’ll be booking this place the next trip. 6 outta 5

First time in Hawaii and I found this deal on
for Vive. At first I was hesitant to book because they didn’t have a lot of amenities, but it worked out for the better! The location is really unbeatable because you are a few blocks away from Waikiki beach and the main drag. You can walk to all sorts of shopping/​food destinations and you’re close to a plethora of public transportation stops. Well worth it!
The hotel itself is nice and new with a contemporary décor in the «living room». The rooms are on the smallish side but the android tablet did come in handy. I think every room had one. Also, you can ask the front desk for beach towels and gear!
One thing that my mom and I weren’t too thrilled about was the noisy AC. If you come in the more humid months, I found that I would have to keep in running in order to keep the room cool. It made it difficult to watch TV because of the noise.
The continental breakfast consisted of sweet pastries and fresh fruits, oatmeal and waffles. The pineapple was so sweet and delish!

The hotel is OK, only a bed to sleep, no where to store your clothes so you have to keep it in your luggage, the bathroom has no counter for your tooth bush and a little glass shelf that does not fit your bathroom stuff. Room service was poor, room was clean when we arrived but it was not cleaned daily, barely made the bed well, toiletry was not refilled daily, they did not vacuum the room or cleaned the bathroom. If the room service was good I would only have good things to say but I have never been at a hotel that dos not cleaned the rooms daily.
The breakfast was very good, the people are really nice, the valet drivers super nice, we ordered a anniversary package and they made a heart with flowers on my bed and placed chocolate and card on our bed on my anniversary night. Since that night I noticed that they were doing the minimum, bed was not even tucked in. This is the only reason I’m giving this hotel a 3 stars. Up until night 3 the ¹⁰⁄₂₉ it was fine. I hope they talk to the room service team and changes this. Most people tip on the last day of the trip, not daily. Maybe that’s why they did not clean it.

Lobby was great looking. breakfast was OK. The rooms however could use a upgrade.
When booking they show pictures of rooms better remodeled then what you get. But if your looking for a hotel on the cheaper side its a ok experience.

I really want to keep this my little secret/​hidden gem, but they did such a fantatic job I had to write review.
Service — 5 stars. These guys were on point. Hawaii sets a high standard for customer service and they still exceeded my expectations. Everyone was kind, sincere, and they had a timely response to all requests. Front desk, valet, etc. every employee I bumped into.
Convenience — 5 stars
— free wifi (you had me at free wifi…)
— free straw mats, beach towels and boogie boards to borrow (yay, no squeezing that stuff into my luggage!!) and no upity check in/​checkout procedure requiring your room number. Just grab on your way out and return
— free valet. This was handsome. I mean awesome. It also helped me avoid parking difficulty and what appeared to be a very tight garage (I speculate that’s why they do it, and oh god, imagine multiple tourist cars trying to navigate the corners), but thank you for having that foresight. Parking fee $ 25/​night is comparable to others, if not cheaper.
— in room tablet — SUPER handy for requesting ice and the valet for your car to be brought around. Ice delivery was speedy! (impressive). I had one blip with my room cleaning request not going through but after calling the front desk, they handled it promptly.
— complimentary coffee/​tea bar all day (perfect for that late afternoon lull, or pre evening festivities). Also ice water/​juice available all day, so refreshing to grab from the lobby before you head up to your room
— complimentary bfast — great fruit and pastries (use the toaster oven!) Also has a microwave if you need to heat up leftovers at other times
— lounge — I loved the modern décor and (in general) ample seating. I hate fighting for seating, but this accommodated most everyone during the busy bfast hour and was quiet/​mostly empty during the day, great for some quite AC time.
— books — I think you can borrow these during your stay. It’s like a mini library.
Location — 5 stars
— Close to beach. And I like this end of the strip, more casual and less the foot traffic of the fancy-​shopping stores side.
— Close to musubi café and Me’s BBQ, two excellent eateries across the street– both open early (6am/​7am), good for grabbing to-​go before heading off to the airport.
Hotel —
— Room size. The small room did not negatively affect my experience. However, if you are someone who spread your stuff all around a room, sit in the typical in room couch (there is a chair only), and/​or need generous counter space for your cosmetics, I don’t think this is the hotel for you. They do offer a few larger options on their website. I think an unattended bonus imho is that there are probably less families that stay here; all I saw were tons of young couples and the occasional older couple :)
–Noise. No central AC, which is a bummer and prevents this from being a 5 star imho. The window unit works adequately, but it is fairly loud. Unfortunately the ridiculous people next door slammed their door repeatedly (sufficient to rattle the wall/​attached headboard) and also the sliding bathroom door into the adjoining wall (seriously, no courtesy). One windy night had some ridiculous howling wind (nearly making me regret the stay); front desk ended up having the window looked at and 10 min of the maintenancce guy’s time later, it made a noticeable difference. Phew.
Other than those parts, this may be one of the quietest hotels I’ve stayed in. No kids running through the halls, no paper thin walls, no obvious plumbing sounds. I was also on a higher floor away from street noise.
–Hotel size. I like that this is a smaller hotel. No bustling lobby to navigate and I felt like it allows the service to be that much more personal. I walked through the Sheraton this visit and previously stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian. This was also very classy compared to some of the budget places I’ve stayed and I’m so, so glad that frugal (stingy) me paid for the difference.
This will be my place to book next visit.

Der Check-​In lief super reibungslos. Mit dem Auto ins Parking gefahren wo wir von einem Valet Mitarbeiter empfangen wurden. Dieser nahm das Auto entgegen, Koffer konnten wir drin lassen, die wurden aufs Zimmer geliefert. Am der Reception wurden wie bereits erwartet– mit einem Glas Ananassaft und einem kühlen Tuch.
Die Zimmer sind klein aber schön eingerichtet und das Bett ist bequem. Frühstück ist inklusive und ok — erwarten darf man aber nicht zu viel. Strandtücher, Boogie Boards etc. sind kostenlos.
Lage ist bestens mitten in Waikiki.

I wish I could give more stars to this hotel! My bf and I came here about 2 weeks ago for our Spartan race/​mini vacay/​my bday celebration LOL. It’s a very new hotel in Waikiki and very close to the beach. We were within walking distance of all the restaurants and even a laundromat to wash our muddy clothes after the race!
The staff here are so friendly and a small group so throughout our stay we always saw familiar faces which was nice. Everyone was so friendly and nice we left them a big tip! Upon check in we were greeted with refreshing pineapple juice and warm towels to wash our face with. The lobby area as well as Hotel room is very chic and modern. They were really sweet and left a note with chocolates on our bed for my bday. The room was very clean and spacious we even had a mini fridge! Great view of the beach as well. The bed was comfy and pillows were fluffy so we slept pretty well each night. Also, no bedbugs!
I absolutely loved that the room came with a complimentary tablet! It was so useful to use it in the hotel room for requesting ice, room service, or even using it to Unilocal or Google stuff. It was convenient that we could ask for valet to get the car ready via the tablet so by the time we got down, the car was ready to go! I also really liked their shampoo and soaps provided in the restroom. They actually spelled good and weren’t the cheap stuff that makes you feel dry and all. The AC worked perfectly and way better than most hotels
They also provide you with free beach gear like mats, towels, etc. Overall lovely hotel and affordable! Definitely booking with them again next time I am in hawaii!

This place… was amazing for the price.
We had a 7 day, 6 night stay on Waikiki. This hotel is about 3 blocks from the beach. We got a junior ocean view suite on the 19^th floor. We woke up every morning to gorgeous views of the beach.
PROS:
–no resort fees
–FREE wifi
–FREE continental breakfast
–FREE beach mats, beach towels, and boogie boards
CONS:
–parking is $ 25, valet only, but this is standard in Waikiki
We would definitely stay here again. Great price, amazing location, excellent service.

So I have spent most of my adult life traveling and have logged in thousands of hotel stays. Some that I’ll always remember and many that I wish I could forget.
This place absolutely rocks! It is small and a couple blocks off the beach but the hotel has a personality that is unique and exciting.
Each staff member that I came in contact with were extremely helpful and went out of their way to answer and assist with everything from sight seeing recommendations to chasing down a cab. They anticipated my needs always greeting me with BIG smiles and a sincere welcome.
Big box hotels should take a lesson from these folks on how to deliver outstanding guest satisfaction.

This was one of the best hotel experiences we have had while traveling. We originally chose this hotel because it was one of the more affordable places in this area, so our expectations were tempered, but we would soon find out that this place far exceeded anything we had hoped for.
Upon arrival, we were greeted at the front desk with a couple glasses of pineapple juice and some lemon face towels. The front desk was very pleasant and check in was very smooth. The lobby was really nice with lots of seating and modern décor. We booked an ocean view room, and were given a corner room on the 15^th floor. From what I read on other reviews, the main gripe was the smaller sized rooms, and I won’t argue that, but the décor was all very modern, and it had all the stuff you would need, just not much room for anything else. But really, who cares? you are in Hawaii, and shouldn’t be spending much time in the room other than to sleep and shower anyways. We could view the ocean from our room, but much of it was blocked by some other tall hotels in between. And the street noise really wasn’t that bad, except for the occasional police/​ambulance siren.
The location of this hotel is hard to beat at this price. It is literally two short blocks from the middle of Waikiki Beach. It took me less than 5 minutes from the hotel door to the sand. Also, the hotel staff is very helpful and provided us with beach gear (mats, towels, chairs, umbrella & boogy board) to use at the beach, as well as some umbrellas for the day it rained. This was a nice convenience so we didn’t have to go buy or rent that stuff. If you did need to buy anything, there are about a thousand ABC stores everywhere that have everything, and you can find any shop/​restaurant you would want within a few minutes walking from the hotel as well.
The free continental breakfast is good, and they have coffee available in the lobby all day. They also provide free wifi, when it seems like every other hotel charges extra for it.
A couple things they don’t have — a pool, but once again who cares? go to the beach a couple block away, its better than a pool any day. Also there are no ice machines on each floor, so you will have to go to the lobby and have them get you ice from the kitchen. They offered to bring it up to our room for us, but not a big deal to go downstairs to get it.
Now the best part, which really put them over the top for me. I mean we were already very impressed by the hotel staff and décor, but as we prepared to check out at noon, our flight wasn’t until 10pm. Not only did they offer to store our luggage between check out and when we caught the shuttle, they also provided us a courtesy room for an hour to shower and freshen up. You will need to book the courtesy room a day in advance, but this was really nice so we didn’t have to go on our day long flight back to St Louis after spending a day out at the beach.
Long story short, this hotel exceeded all our expectations, and for the location, you won’t find a better value. Use the savings you get from booking here to go out and do something fun in Hawaii. I would highly recommend, and if i ever go back will book this hotel again.

The first we came to Waikiki we had a 5 star hotel and was not satisfactory and a lot of add on payments but having Vive Hotel is more reasonable, worth to stay, complimentary breakfast is always good, staff was so nice and the dining place is like your second home… Highly recommended, you will never regret!!!

Our stay at Vive Hotel was a clean, comfortable one. Our room was lovely and larger than expected, and the staff was very professional. They provided us with beach towels and boogie boards each time we needed them. The term «beachfront view» is a little misleading though: the beach is 2 blocks away, and you only see a sliver of sand and water. The location is great, though. Waikiki Beach and tons of stores and restaurants are within walking distance of Vive Hotel.
Parking is valet only and costs $ 25/​night, which is pretty much the standard for Waikiki. The continental breakfast is an assortment of pastries, fruit, and bread. Nothing amazing, but at least it’s complimentary. The only thing missing is a pool and fitness center, but with the beach so close, you may not even miss it.
