I like the convenience of the location, the friendliness of the staff, and the services for my accounts work and can be accessed online. I really don’t need much more than that.
I use the account to pay bills online, make debit purchases, and take out the occasional wad of dough. Everything is good and the people are kind. I have had to stop into the main branch only a few times and everything went smoothly there, too. I could have gone with a larger bank but I wanted to try a credit union and I am glad I did. They perform as well as any other bank I have had on the mainland. At least I am not worried that my credit union is going to get bought by another larger bank. This happened to me three times in NYC!
I don’t think I ask a lot of the bank so cannot say how it would perform with a superuser, but it works well for me.

Staff are very friendly, quicking servicing and provide member up-​to-​date information. I have both my personal and company accounts with this bank with full trust and credit.

A friend from out of town was looking to transfer to UH so while giving them a tour of campus I decided to close my account that I recently opened.

My account has been open for a month now and I still have not received my debit card. It was supposed to be ordered at the time my account was opened (which took forever) but it was not. Instead the card was ordered two weeks later and ONLY after I called to check on the status. Now an entire month has passed and instead of calling the call center and being transfered endlessly to check up on the status of my card I just decided to close my account.
Since I was on campus I decided to do this at their campus center branch. Surprisingly I was told that if I were to close my account now they would charge me $ 50.00 because my account has been open for less than 90 days. I politely informed them that I was never told this when I opened my account, their reply was that it was in the Fee Disclosure I received the day I became a member… well the only thing I recieved was the reciept for my deposit.
I briefly went over the traumatic situation with the teller and was basically told that there was nothing that could be done. The fact that this account has been useless to me for the entire month, I wasted almost 2 hours of my life in Avery’s office, I still cant make any purchases, service has been terrible, never recieved my debit card or checks, everyone I have spoken with has been passing the blame and now they want to charge me $ 50! I will just wait out the 90 days and close my account then. The entire experience has simply been a nightmare, thank goodness for options.

The location is very convenient for people at the central part of UH Manoa.
Customer service can be a hit or miss. Sometimes the tellers are nice. Other times the tellers are indifferent and a little aloof, and some even act like they’re doing YOU the favor.
But other than their moods, they did everything else professionally.

Only giving one star because I have to in order to review them.
Worst bank ever! Watch out for their hidden fees everyone! I moved into town and closer to my campus, so I decided to open an account with them. Worst choice of my life.
I don’t bring cash to school with me anymore and due to their lack of locations, I could never make deposits as often as I wanted to, so I’ve opened another account at American Savings as my primary and left my account at this bank open, not in the negatives, but with enough in it to not close. Haven’t used my account in almost 2 years and decided to go in randomly today to see if my account was closed or not. Doesn’t matter to me much since I don’t bank with them, I just have an account with $ 5.
GUESS WHAT I’VE FOUND OUT! They’ve been charging me a «bad address» fee for over a year! Here’s the funny thing… I’VE HAD THE CORRECT ADDRESS ON FILE.
I disputed this with them, saying I have no other address, I’ve lived in the same place for almost 2 years, even showing the address on my license! And I asked if I could bring in other proof of my address. The teller said I have to pay the fees. I told her to ask her supervisor, who was not in, so I have my number and waited 5 hours for the supervisor to call me and tell me that they will only take off $ 5, and I have to pay the rest… which is over $ 60.
Uhm, excuse me?! You’ve been falsely charging me every month for having the «wrong address» saying that I should have called them to update my address. HOW CAN I UPDATE IT IF IT’S THE EXACT SAME ADDRESS YOU’VE HAD ON FILE SINCE I OPENED MY ACCOUNT?
How unreasonable and un-​accommodating.

Talk about a convenient location for students, faculty and staff at UH Manoa. This location is right next to the entrance to the Campus Center food court, so you almost can’t help but pass by it at least a couple times a week if you go to school, or work at UH. Before this location you would have to either make the trek to the very back of campus, or take an off campus adventure to King and McCully if you wanted to take care of any banking needs.
It’s because of this very convenient location, and the fact that I work on campus, that I decided to open an account here, and I must say that I’m extremely satisfied with the level of service that I’m receiving here. As for ATM’s you can use any Kalabash, or First Hawaiian Bank ATM without any charges, or fees. This is a big plus since FHB is in all the 7-​Elevens and Zippy’s across the islands. Talk about convenient!

Prior to UHFCU opening this location, our options for banking at UHFCU were 1) hiking up to the very top of upper Manoa campus to their branch that closes at 1:30 pm on most days, or 2) driving to the main branch on McCully Street.
But now, we can do our banking at their small two window branch just outside the entrance to the Campus Center Dining Food Court from 8 – 4 Monday thru Friday. That means we can make deposits, withdrawals, or cash checks any time during the work day, and it’s just a hop and a skip from most points on campus.
The only thing is that you can’t buy travelers checks at this branch, but how often do you need to buy traveler’s checks?
