Kenji and Kathy and just the best. I’ve used them on several occasions and the create some of the most memorable and beautiful photos. Besides being great at their craft, they are just pleasure to work with. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I see that a lot of what I want to say has already been said, but it doesn’t hurt to reiterate the truth! Kenji is SUPER talented, super nice and makes you super comfortable. I had the last minute opportunity to shoot with Kenji and I am so glad I grabbed it. I had 15 minutes to get ready and it didn’t matter… he could have shot me just getting out of bed and I bet he could have made me look fantastic haha! His wife, Kathy, happened to be there with her newborn, and went out of her way to give me advice for quick make up tips and posture during the shoot even though she wasn’t there to do that. It was so last minute and so quick (because of MY timeline) but you would never know it from the pictures! I came back home and showed my boyfriend who couldn’t believe how great the photography was (and he is very familiar with headshots as an actor). He (and I) can’t wait to go back to Hawaii now to shoot more with Kenji!

It was such a pleasure working with Kenji and Kathy. Very quick with their responses and extremely professional. Kenji shot my wedding on 9÷26÷2015 and I am SO happy I found him on Unilocal.He really knows what he’s doing and went out of his way to make sure we got all the shots we wanted. He sent me a few teaser shots and I am dying to see the rest!!! They came out SOO good!!! If I’m ever in need of a photographer on Oahu again, I will definitely be contacting the Cromans again!

My fiancé and I found Kenji after looking at multiple photographer’s websites. We really liked his photos for their organic, natural look. His wife, Kathy, was very communicative by e-​mail, answered questions promptly and we booked 1.5 months in advance. Kathy gave us recommendations on location to shoot because all we knew was that we wanted something that would be more unique and showcase our love of the Hawaiian outdoors. We chose to do a sunrise photo session at Lanikai. Day of the photo shoot the weather was iffy and we got rained on the first few minutes before the sun actually came up, but then it stopped and we got some pretty good shots of the sun coming through. You can tell that Kenji is very into his work… he was covered in sand after the hour photo session from being on the ground to get some good shots. Kenji came prepared with exampled of poses that are his go-​to for couples and asked our input and made sure we were okay with doing some intimate poses. The turnover was extremely fast! We had photos within 3 – 4 days of the photo session!!! Kenji sent us a link to download all the edited photos and then another link that we can share with family/​friends.
There was a slight snafu actually on the day of the photo shoot… Kenji and Kathy had their first baby week of (congrats!) and he actually forgot to show up the original day. He was extremely apologetic and embarrassed for the no-​show, and was overly accommodating trying to make it up to us. We ultimately chose to just come back the next day for the sunrise photos. He even offered to do some drone shots for us (normally an extra cost) in addition to our already booked photo session, but we ended up forgoing this because it was so windy that day. I chalk up the no-​show to newborn baby-​induced lack of sleep and probably general craziness of having a first child.
I’m very happy with the photos we ended up with and would definitely recommend Kenji to others for photo sessions!

My Fiancé and I were referred to Kenji for engagement photos. I was a little apprehensive about taking engagement photos in general, but Kenji and Kathy made it so comfortable and easy. They were very thorough in getting ideas for the type of shots we wanted, well before we actually did the photo shoot. They not only listened to what we envisioned, but made suggestions for poses and shots that actually turned out amazing.
We had to put a bit of a rush on the photos for our save the date cards. Thankfully Kenji and Kathy were able to accommodate our needs and meet us on short notice at the location we requested. They are so personable, it felt like we had known them for years, even though we had just met. Kenji and Kathy followed through with everything they had promised and their customer service was top notch.
At the end of the day, my fiancé and I had a ton of fun shooting our engagement photos. The photos turned out amazing, much better than I ever expected. Kathy and Kenji were very professional and nice!!. I need to shoot some wedding photos for my portfolio and they know exactly what location and time would be perfect. They are the greatest team I’ve ever worked with. Kenji is a natural with the camera knowing which angle would be great. Kathy even spent the night before putting together a bouquet for me! I didn’t even ask her too! That how sweet and caring these people are! I highly recommend their service!

This is an overdue review, but I actually decided to create a Unilocal account just to give them a 5 star review (i’m still trying to figure out this website).
We had our engagement photo shoot with Kenji in November at the Sun Flower Fields in North Shore. It was themed by the pixar movie «UP» so we had a VW bus and some silly costumes. They were early (better than on time), they had previously shot at the fields — so they knew the good spots, they were patient, and they made us feel comfortable.
Tie The Knot Images were a very professional, down to earth, and talented pair (Kenji and Kathy). Kenji is extremely humble, punctual, organized, creative, photographer! Plus, he as a drone! It was a pleasure to work with him! Kathy has a wonderful sense of direction and she is able to feel out the couples vibe very fast. In addition, they send you the best of the photos and edit them accordingly. We even got a short video that we loved and added our own song choice. We really enjoyed working with them and were able to take silly photos along with typical romantic engagement photos.

My husband surprised me with a family photoshoot while we were on vacation in Hawaii. I was thrilled! My only expectation was for was one family photo with the beach and some palm trees as the background.
We met Kenji and his lovely wife, Kathy just before sunset. Right away they treated us like family and not clients. They embraced us with true aloha spirit. They didn’t have much to prep just followed my husband, myself and our three kids and started shooting. It was by far the most FUN and easy shoot.
My kids even enjoyed doing the photoshoot. We took some awesome unique shots in the sand, in the sunset and even in the water. My youngest child was so comfortable working with Kenji and Kathy that she unleashed her wild side which gave Kenji additional material to work with. And the photos captured it all. EVERY single frame they took was purely amazing! Our smiles were genuine and through his camera lense he featured the true joy, love and connection that my family shares.
The experience with Kenji and Kathy was so wonderful and the photos (every single frame) is true art that will proudly be displayed in our home for many years. Our annual Hawaiian vacation will always have Kenji and Kathy on our agenda.
It was a fantastic family vacation topped off with truly AMAZING photos to keep the aloha spirit alive here in the mainland.

My girlfriend used them for their wedding pictures and they turned out AMAZING! I helped a lot with my friend in the planning process, so I got to see how smooth and organized they were from start to finish. The week before their wedding day, they even sent a very nice bottle of champagne to them to help calm their nerves. They truly care and go above and beyond. The bride, my girlfriend even had a shiny face and Kathy was there powdering her face. Kenji and Kathy are a total match made photography team. I highly suggest them and will def use them for my wedding!

The photographer and the makeup artist are a stupendous duo! Kathy has this amazing energy about her, and she does a great job in creating a flawless natural look on the bride. Because she has this wonderful energy as well, this helps the photographer capture the natural beautiful essence of the couple, which I felt when we had our shoot. Kenji, the photog is extremely professional and sure takes some of the best photos I’ve seen on the island. As a duo, they think outside the box, and work really well together to make us feel at ease. They are the utmost pros that produce amazing quality outcome, all while maintaining professionalism and a positive hardworking attitude. I’m so glad they took our wedding photos. Couldn’t have asked for a better wedding pro duo collaboration!
