The Tasaki TMJ Headache Center of Honolulu, Hawaii, specializes in TMJ treatments for migraines, neck aches, and jaw pain associated with the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ). TMJ, or more properly TMD (Temporomandibular Disorders), affects 1 in 3 people. 1 in 10 have sever signs and symptoms that may include noise in the jaw joint, clenching of the jaw, tight neck and shoulder muscles, pain at the base of the skull, headaches, and nausea.

History

Established in 2005.

Dr. Mark Tasaki specializes in the treatment of TMJ pain and headaches. He has successfully helped relieve the pain of thousands of patients who didn’t realize the pain was diminishing their quality of life. Dr. Mark has a DDS from Creighton University. He completed his master and PhD in TMJ specialty from Rochester, Buffaloe and Carlynski Hospital in Sweden.

Most headaches (up to 85%) are from a dislocation of the disc in the temporol mandibular joint. Treatment for the jaw eliminates the pain near the ear, jaw, back of neck and the shoulders. TMJ pain will not go away on it’s own. It is a progressive disorder that deteriorates with time.

Business Owner

Dr. Mark has completed training in dentistry at Creigton University and a MS and PhD in TMJ specialty at Rochester, Buffaloe and Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden. Karolinska University Hospital is one of Scandinavia’s premier health facilities.

In his free time he enjoyes boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking and swimming with his family.

I was referred to the TMJ Headache center after experiencing discomfort in my jaw. Dr. Mark Tasaki was able to explain, diagnose, and treat my TMJ disorder using a non-​surgical approach. His friendly staff makes scheduling appointments easy, right there at the office or over the phone. They’ve always been very accommodating to my scheduling needs. I would highly recommend anyone suffering with jaw related pain or migraines to schedule a consultation to determine if this approach is for you. If you have TMJ or any problems with your jaw, this is the place to go! The receptionist is so helpful, friendly and always accommodating to my scheduling needs. Dr. Mark Tasaki is seriously a godsend! My jaw had gotten to the point where it wouldn’t open all the way anymore, but after going to him for less than a month my jaw was already better. I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t find him. But beyond helping my jaw, he is so kind and you can tell that both him and his wife truly care about your well being. If you are in doubt as to where to go for your TMJ discomfort, look no further. I would recommend Dr. Tasaki to anybody without thinking twice!

My daughter has been seeing Dr Mark for a couple of years now & Dr Mark has done excellent work in straightening her teeth & correcting her bite. His method of straightening her teeth using a mouth piece to guide the growth of her teeth has shown great improvement. Hopefully all her teeth will grow in nicely with the guidance of Dr Mark’s skillfully made mouthpiece (and he has made several for her as her teeth has grown in & moved out) and she can avoid having to put on braces. EXCELLENT WORK & SERVICE!!!

The customer service for Mark Tasaki is classless. They are extremely rude and not very helpful. I called inquiring what I paid so far on my account and the receptionist was very impatient an asked «do you want me to just mail you another invoice instead of going over this on the phone?» She also said «it seems like we’ve explained this to you over and over again.» During one occassion when I arrived on time at the appointment, the office had a closed sign posted on the window. I left the office and they later called me saying that I wasn’t at my appointment. I explained that I was there on time but the closed sign was posted. Again the receptionist was very rude and said «well a normal person would have just waited.» Who does that?! The doctor himself does his work well but he needs to get rid of the people working in the front. They are giving off an unprofessional impression and driving away customers.
