Excellent customer service and response time! Service technician was dispatched and we were fixed and ready to roll again with minimal inconvenience!

Prompt fast and efficient service ever! Not to mention the cost of fixing my garage door was very reasonable. I called at 7 AM and they came in the afternoon and was able to fix it without my husband or myself having to be there. You don’t realize how badly you need your garage door until it breaks! My poor husband had to hold the heavy door open so that I could drive both cars out of the garage so that we both could go to work! Definitely recommend them hands down!

We have been repeat customers of Takase garage doors and the lack of customer service we received from Mel (the guy who answers the phone)
was unbelievable. He was very unprofessional, rude and you could tell that he could care less. He was also very unknowledgeable and could not walk me through what could have been an easy fix or at least referred me to someone who could. It might have saved the service guy from having to come out and from me having to take time off of work. The reality is the whole team reflects a business down to the guy who answers the phone. Even he can make or break your business. When it’s time to replace my door I intend to shop elsewhere. This island is too small and you can’t treat people that way without the word spreading. I do not recommend this company.

I have read the reviews and if this company is the best garage door repair company then I feel sorry for anyone needing services. Myself included. I did not choose Takase, they are a third party company who is contracted through my organization. Therefore, with that said, I expect any company to operate professionally. Takase made a morning appointment 3 days ago. However, Monday’s appointment time arrived and passed with NO phone call saying the technician is running late. So around 11am I call the company and I was told the technician arrived to work late. Okay. if they arrived late to work then I should have received a phone and been the first appointment since I was scheduled between 8−9am. Anyway, after calling I was told the technician would be to our home by 1pm. Instead of arriving at 1pm I receive a phone call from technician saying he had the wrong address and would not be able to repair my door today. SMH. Seriously. I have been waiting all morning for you to service my door and because of poor communication I have to reschedule and be inconvenienced again. I guess if I would have received a phone call when the company knew their tech was running late, I would not be writing this negative review. Now, on the upside to this is whenever my garage door is fix and I am satisfied with the punctuality of the technician, quality of work and a good demeanor then I will gladly change this rating to correspond with the service rendered.

We needed our garage door/​opener connection to be repaired. A technician stopped by to inspect the «damage» and found nothing wrong. He was to have discussed his findings with the «boss» and promised to have a written report to us immediately. This was nearly 2 weeks ago. In the interim, we attempted to contact the company, almost daily, in an effort to obtain a status of the report. Our calls were not returned. Unbelievable!
We cannot understand how companies such as this manage to stay in business. Takase obviously is in dire need of serious customer service training. Wish I could give this business a ZERO star rating as it is not deserving of even a 1-​star rating.
That said, we would not recommend Takase Doors & Service to anyone, enemies included.

Great service and very prompt. Called Monday and the technician arrived as stated and had my garage door fixed in less than ½ an hr. The price was about the same as others but they only had next day service.
I would recommend them for sure since I used them at my old house 13 yrs ago and they provided the same great service at a reasonable price.

Had to have my spring replaced today, last year had a very good experience with Keith Oyamote, which I also wrote a review. This time a Whitney Blake came and he was just as good and fast gave us all the tips spraying our areas that needed spraying just doing everything a good service rep should do. And he was quick, great asset to the company, I think the owner really hires the right people.
Also the price was better than the other company I previously did business with. Thank you Whitney and Takase door.

Keith from Takase was great. He was on-​time, quick, left my garage clean, and had a terrific attitude. I took off one star because John Takase sold be the a whole new garage door opener five years ago and didn’t warn me about the belt wearing out after five years.

I called this place to get a quote and to schedule a repair. The guy that answers the phone talked to me like he is the only company on the island that can repair a garage door. I totally agree with another Unilocaler that he is rude.

The price was a little higher than I expected (quoted $ 300 for fixing a broken spring), but the service I received was worth the price! We called after hours and the owner answered the phone and scheduled an appointment for the following day. I called to confirm my appointment (I had used Takase once before and the tech didn’t show up at the time promised) and was given the number of the person who was going to fix my garage door. His name was Jason and he was TERRIFIC!!! He actually arrived at my home before me and promptly got to work. He was polite and friendly and fixed the door very quickly. It is now working better than ever. He even offered advice to help me prolong the life of my garage door. I called the owner to say that I was pleased with the customer service provided by Jason. The owner didn’t seem too impressed that a customer had taken the time to call to compliment a representative of his company, but I am telling you, if you need to have your garage door fixed, call Takase and ASK FOR JASON!!!

Just purchased a new garage door opener & installation from Takase Doors to replace an ancient opener from the early 90s that wasn’t compatible with any of the newer accessories on the market (keypad, Homelink). I was able to get an appointment for the same week I called and the price was much lower than the other 2 vendors I called and very reasonable considering the retail & online prices of just the opener that I purchased. The tech that came out (Keith) was fast, efficient and professional. Although he arrived a bit later than scheduled, would definitely recommend overall.

Just wanted to update everyone as I was hesitant to call Takase doors based on the previous reviews. This is the BEST company for garage doors. We got a bid from Servco through the Costco special. The guy did not measure properly and did not know what he was doing. He was so confused about the angles in our garage and kept changing the door sizes. He came back twice and then wanted to send another guy to measure again. He also added on a lot of extra charges to haul away, etc and wanted us to hire a carpenter to modify. It also would take 6 weeks for the doors to be shipped in.
We also called Alliance who said that our garage was too difficult and he was too busy and basically told us to hire someone else.
Martin Doors never called us back.
Well, finally we called Takase Doors. The owner, John Takase, called us back right away and he was very professional and seemed like he could do the job. He installed the garage doors 2 days later. His crew was awesome! They came on time and modified the opening and installed everything without a hitch in one day. His price was also the best and even threw in a free keypad. The doors look amazing and we are so happy with the results.
Don’t waste time with the other guys. Just hire Takase and he will take care of everything.

I dont know how many men works at this company, but for the guy who answers the phone and gives quotes is really a not nice man. He’s very rude. I dont know why he doesnt get any low ratings.

Takase Doors used to service the garage doors on our rentals units, in fact they installed them during the contruction process, but I wasn’t around for that.
At any rate, we were using their services for about 3 years and everything was fine. But then somewhere about the 3 year mark, the quality of work and response time started to get suspect towards us.
I don’t want to completely knock their service because they were great in the beginning, but maybe during that questionable period, they had a new technician or were understaffed. I don’t know, I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. But time is money, thus we had to try out another business because we just weren’t feeling the love no more. So to speak.
So, by all means Unilocalers, try them out. I believe you’ll get good service from them. But long term consistency? Unfortunately, I can’t vouch for that.

The spring on our garage door broke. Called Raynor and waited 2 days without getting a call back. Called Takase after 5pm on a Friday, Keith was at our house first thing Saturday morning (8am) and had everything fixed in less than an hour. He thoroughly explained what needed to be done and what our options were. Keith displayed exceptional technical expertise and professionalism. I wouldn’t hesitate to call Takase again.

I have never written a review on any site before but I feel the need to do so for this one. After a situation with my garage door, I called Takase and set up an appointment for the following day. He told me the window was between 12 – 3, which conflicted with my work hours, however I was desperate to get the door fixed so I decided to take a half day of work. I called to check in around 12 to see if they had an idea of when they would be arriving, no response. I called again at 2:30, no response. No call back or show up at my house. Not only did I miss pay for half a day of work but my garage was not fixed. In the profession they are in, Takase should know how important it is to keep customers informed and value their time as much as we appreciate their service, therefore I do not recommend Takase.

The service technician, Keith, was great! He was very informative, efficient, and helpful. Our garage door is working better than new now.

A spring on my garage door broke and our first choice business didn’t call us back so we called on a Monday afternoon and they scheduled us for 8 a.m. the next day.
They did an excellent job of repairing the spring and made sure the rest of the door was working properly. if you’re in a pinch, they are very responsive.

I had Keith come and replace the broken springs on my garage door. He was on time, gave me all the information I needed to make a decision and got the job done right away. Then he took the time to show me how to do simple maintenance on my door to make it last a long time. I had another company replace the opener two years ago and they never bother to tell me anything. The price was very reasonable and the service was the best! Highly recommended

Deets:
Called them at 6:30am and the appointment was set for 11:00am. Door issue was fixed and some lightweight maintenance was provided. Don’t be intimidated by the ‘local kine’ appearance. They have the right tools and are knowledgeable about their product.
In Conclusion:
Would definately refer them to a friend and be a repeat customer myself. Kudos!
