I’m writing this review not as a participant, but a chaperone. 1. Parking– pass Keehi Lagoon park entrance and the entrance to TAG is the next right. The lot is off-road/dirt. Pretty much park anywhere. Beware*: paintballs CAN reach the parking area. One of our guys’ car was hit but not damaged. 2. Seating– we arrived early so our party of 18 were able to get situated on 3 park benches. BYO– food, snacks, drinks. An ice cream truck drove through halfway through the day and they sell water, shave ice, and snacks out of their shed. 3. My brothers were new to paintball but the instructions and rules were explained well enough. There’s an area where you can warm up or test your equipment if time permits. They also play airsoft here so you’ll see a bunch of those guys around, too. 4. From what I hear, the refs are good at what they do. There are 4 fields & in 1 round you play each field 2(sometimes 3) times. They randomly choose teams but if you have preferences or want to form teams I supposed you can. We had 18 people input party and halfway through, a group of 5 arrived and were thrown in with our group. 5.(Most importantly) I’ve seen some bad portable potties but this one definitely ISN’T one of them. I was totally prepared to drive to the nearby McDonalds to use the restroom but I don’t think that was necessary. There’s no sink on the side or anything to wash your hands, so bring hand wipes :)

I went with about 20 people and that was an excellent amount of players to be active in a game. When we got to the site, there was ample parking in the front. There’s a huge tent with tables and chairs for you to set up and chill. I highly recommend to bring food and drinks because you will burn off a lot of energy as the day goes on. Before we started, we were gathered by the TAG house, informed of the equipment and house rules. The equipment provided– paintball gun, helmet, chest shield and some paintballs. You must purchase your own paintballs if you need more. There are 4 different sites and the fields were spacious. The games go pretty quickly and there is always a referee with your group to monitor the games at all times. Since restrooms are my big concerns where ever I go, recommend to go before you arrive– there is only one portable potty available. Since this was my first time there, I enjoyed my time there and will definitely plan on going back.

I took a bunch of my son’s friends out there to play some paintball. Initially, it seemed a little disorganized, but it was most likely due to the HUGE airsoft event they were having that day. There were people everywhere and it was nice to be in that environment. I thought the rentals were reasonably priced for what you get. Sure, the marker wasn’t the most accurate, but it worked and you could«long ball» some of the shots into crevices. The paint was pricey at $ 50 a case, but they allow you to bring your own. Maybe we’ll do that next time, with the way these kids use paint. All day air is awesome. I didn’t use the mask, body protector or the 2-pod harness since I had some of my own stuff. The kids used them and it seemed to work. The masks looked like standard JT Spectra system, but I don’t know if they were thermal. They made use of the body protector :). The games were standard, speedball type, elimination games. Maybe they can try some«capture the flag» games to mix it up a bit, but it’s fine the way it is. They had 4 fields, and rotated us, so it was not always the same field used. Some had house type structures, so that was cool. Bring lot’s of water and some snacks/lunch if you plan to be out there all day(9 – 3). I don’t know how busy it gets on a «normal» day, so I would suggest bringing some type of shade in case their tent is full. I made the plans with Mitchell and he was very patient and informative. I must’ve called him a dozen times with 1000’s of questions. The refs we had on-site was James and Matt. They were both EXCELLENT as field judges. They kept the players safe and seemed to be everywhere on the field. The thing I noticed the most was they kept the teams pretty even. If one side seemed a bit«stronger», they would move some players around so the next game was a bit more even. Nice. At the end of the day, everyone was happy and couldn’t wait for«next time».
