Summer’s LavaDogs

Summer’s LavaDogs took the place of where Mean Da Chicken was. they had different variations of hot dogs that you could often find at a baseball game. what made them more appealing was the variations of toppings but yet still being a light meal and not a feast. for me it was perfect location because im always on the way to and from overthere and tried a couple of them already: the mexican, chicago, and the one with the bacon and also had the porkchops. last time i was there, they didn’t look to be open. maybe Unilocal might want to follow up on that. i think what the guy who ran the joint thought was that there was a shortage or not that many places to get hotdogs anymore. i don’t see how the bale’s next to sports authority lasted because the quality went down to disgusting level but thats a different subject. LavaDogs should move to ala moana beach park.

I was by Jamba Juice and saw this and had to try it. I am not much of a hot dog person, but saw they had steak and eggs so I got that. The steak was so flavorful and cooked perfectly, and tasted sooo good with my over easy eggs, rice and tossed salad… All for $ 8.50 :) I definitely recommend their steak here and some of the homemade bbq sauce that’s by the condiments

This place is amazing! Excellent food and great service! I had the chili cheese dog and the wife had the pizza dog. Great quick lunch when you’re doing some shopping in the ward area.

I do lunch here a lot. Fast service, good food; friendly guy. Let’s me get back to work before my breaks over and still have time to eat

This is my #1 stop for lunch at work. Kala is awesome and supper nice. There’s a huge variety of hot dogs your can try but all plate lunches to. I’m a huge fan of his Steak and eggs however his pork hops is the bomb and always sells out. They also got chili and steak and shrimp. He also does sides so sometimes I’ll come just to get eggs bacon and rice. If you haven’t come here is a must try.

This place is amazing they have delicious hot dogs of all kinds the steak and shrimp plate or just the steak plate alone is the bomb I give the cook kala 5 stars for fast n friendly service good job I would recommend everyone here very very delicious

There are so many varieties of hot dogs to choose from so that’s a plus! I tried the pizza dog and a side salad. The pizza dog was delicious. Just enough sauce in there so it didn’t fall apart. I requested to have jalapeño’s on it and he did that at no charge. You can get whatever you like on your hot dog.
Today I tried the pork chop plate. That was onolicious! 2 thick pieces of meat and comes with rice and salad. I chose to get no rice all toss. It was juicy and very tasty. He puts some good spices on there. I do suggest you call the order in if you’re on a ½ hour lunch like me. They have other items on the menu like steak and shrimp and even chili and rice. I’ll be going back there soon. It’s a great place!

Found the dogs to be too drenched in sauce. The buns fell apart and did not hold up to it. Ended up eating it with a fork which defeats the purpose. I understand things like chili dogs and such but this kind of took away from the whole hot dog experience. Prices are pretty good though and they did offer lunch plates.
