We came here under the false pretenses that there was ice cream at this fine establishment. The picture I’ve included is the look of a boy who was very disappointed when he found out there was no ice cream, only frozen yogurt. I too was disappointed but I do love me some froyo, so it was ok by me. Standard froyo place with all the candy/nut/fruit fixings and some not so standard flavors. All the flavors I got were delicious but we tried a few that were not. Major downside for me? The price! Granted, I loaded up because I was in that I wanna try everything mood, and many froyo places are about the same price, but geeeeez. Not worth the money in my opinion but nice for the occasional treat. I probably would not go out of my way to go back again but it wasn’t a bad experience for me, like it was some in our party.

Used to be tutti frutti I think. But it tastes good now. It used to be chalky and too sweet but now it’s pretty good. It’s not quite pink berry but not everyone can be pink. Yogurt by the weight. With toppings. Don’t forget there’s a bottle of Nutella that you can squeeze on too too. Original flavor is pretty good but not quite as tart as I would like. Taro is good. Not too sweet and not to tart. Pretty balanced and a light taro flavor. Tastes pretty real(vs those that are really fake flavored). Get a stamp card. Takes credit cards for purchase greater than $ 5. Lots of seating too and bright lighting. Parking in the municipal lot in the back(if you have an electric vehicle it’s free parking if you just go to the attendant in the way out and tell them your EV license plate, name, and phone number.

Nice and clean. Nice variety of flavors. But the girls were a bit unfriendly. They have so many flavors to choose from but when we asked for a 2nd sample cup, we were told that it was only 1 sample per person. And I went in with my kids and my niece and nephew and we got nothing but unfriendly looks. Was it becuase they though we were going to make a mess? When we told them that one of the flavors didn’t work, they just stood behind the counter and said that we were not dispensing it properly, without coming out to check that their machine WAS not working properly. I don’t know, but I’m not totally sold on this establishment.

After dinner, a friend and I were looking for dessert options. Since Via Gelato was closed, we decided to give Stir a try. I had passed by this yogurt shop several times before but never got to stop in until now. The yogurt shop was pretty empty when we went, which was good, because I didn’t feel pressured to hurry and choose my flavors. The lady working was pretty stingy with the sample cups – she gave me one, and my friend one, as well – so we just used the same cup to try several flavors. While Cherry on Top is still my favorite DIY fro-yo place, Stir exceeded my expectations. Above everything, I liked the texture and consistency of the yogurt. It was soft and fresh-tasting without being liquidy, and best of all, it didn’t melt rapidly. I could actually enjoy the taste of the yogurt and didn’t have to rush to eat it before it melted. Not only is there a good variety of flavors at Stir, but the toppings bar is also impressive. I think this was the first time that I actually saw chunks of Snickers bars and Kit Kat bars that were available! I took one of the Kit Kat bars for my yogurt. Some of the other toppings I got included: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups(they were cut into halves so you really could enjoy the candy); M&Ms; cookie dough bites and peanut butter chips. My friend really enjoyed the assortment of fresh berries and shredded coconut. The prices were comparable to other fro-yo places, and they even give you a stamp card you can use. Great to know, because I’m sure I’ll be back. There’s also ample seating toward the back of the yogurt place, with games you can play, too. It’s a great spot to enjoy your dessert and hang out for a bit … but we didn’t stay too long because there’s no public restroom at Stir. Here are some of the flavors we got: «Chocolate»: Nothing beats chocolate, and I’m glad this flavor wasn’t too watery. It was subtly sweet and not too rich, so it didn’t give me an upset stomach. «Original»: I normally only get a sample size of the«Original,» but I so enjoyed this refreshing taste that I ended up including it in my cup. It balanced the other sweeter flavors(cookies and cream; chocolate) that I got really well. «Cookies and Cream»: I decided to keep things simple this time around and only got three flavors to enjoy. I always love cookies and cream – the chocolatier, the better – and this one had a taste that resembled that of OREOs. It wasn’t super strong or creamy, but that subtle cookie taste was all I wanted. «Cheesecake»: My friend got this flavor in his cup, and I had gotten a sample of it as well. While I did enjoy the cheesecake flavor, I prefer flavors like cheesecake(and peanut butter) to be strong and predominant. This flavor had a lighter taste, so it was nice to sample but I didn’t feel compelled to get it in my cup. However, if I’m in the mood for a lighter cheesecake taste one day, I know I’ll be pleased with this selection. «Candy Selection»: The candy selection in the toppings bar was impressive. I normally see chunks of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but this was the first time that I saw whole halves of Reese’s in there! I didn’t take too many, so my cup wouldn’t end up too heavy, but what a pleasant surprise. I also got half of a Kit Kat bar, something you normally don’t see in the toppings selection on a regular basis. I can’t wait to indulge in one of those Snickers bars one day, too!

Yesterday the best thing to occur was the discovery of Stir– the bf and I did confer, he did concur and not demur and you can even discuss this with Ben Hur. A self serve yogurt place is a self serve yogurt place. Unless you are Stir. The ambiance is very whimsical with adorable, colorful murals on the wall and a bookshelf of children’s books. The flavors are amazing. I simply loved the cheesecake. It was creamy and sweet and tasted like a muddled form of my favorite dessert. But it was the Hawaiian Frost that I did prefer. This flavor will draw me back again and again. It’s basically guri guri in yogurt form that you can get in Honolulu. They also have Hawaiian frost in vanilla, banana and melon and they are all equally delicious. We also got the honey banana mochi waffle. Yes, we got yogurt AND waffles(the cashier was very surprised when we plopped down our yogurt cups on the scale and ordered a waffle). The three mini waffles came out pipping hot with a generous portion of bananas, whipped cream, honey and a TON of sliced almonds. The waffles were chewy(as promised) and the toppings turned it into dessert. It was quite delicious but I was hoping for the waffles to have a better crunch on the outside. It’s safe to infer that I would refer you to Stir.

Decent quality frozen yogurt and an ok selection of flavors. Didn’t use any of the toppings, but noticed that there were a number of toppings to choose from. Overall, however, there isn’t anything particularly special about the yogurt. The bowls are adorable?(And they say«Tutti Frutti»…) Although the yogurt is average, the venue is really cute and modern. There are a few small tables scattered around the store, as well as some slightly larger tables in a somewhat separate room in the back. A bookshelf with a variety of books(mostly kiddie books) separates the main room from the back room(which also has an entrance). With the colorful yogurt, cute bowls, chill vibe, collection of kiddie books, and separate room perfect for kids to hang in, Stir creates an awesome atmosphere for the kids and the entire family as a whole. All in all, alright place. As a side note, the service was mediocre. the girl behind the counter seemed kinda angry. Wasn’t even that late at night. Oh well. Perhaps the waffles are more impressive.

Came here after dinner and drinks down the street. Clean, cheerful, and brightly lit shop. Friendly staff, fresh hot coffee, deliciously chewy mochi waffles. What more could you ask for? A great place to hang out with friends for a nice quick dessert.

Keeping with the theme of «trying something new»… Today — Yogurt. I heard from a couple people that I needed to try Stir as they have a froyo that tastes exactly like the GuriGuri from Tasakas on Maui. With reviews like that, I jus had to go n check it out for myself. Stir is a new place in the old Tutti Fruitti off of Waialae near top of the hill. Pretty easy to find. Parking. U can find parking either on the street or in the back. There’s an entrance into Stir from either side for ur convenience. Décor. Stir is pretty big with plenty of room for those passing, getting yogurt n enjoying their delectable treats. Everything is new n clean n pleasant. Things r organized n everything in its place. There’s even an area with children’s books to keep the kiddos occupied. Froyo. So let’s get down to it… I have come to the conclusion that we all have our own tastes. We might both have tried the same thing but it may taste differently to u than me. Hence… The froyo that tastes like the Tasaka Guirguri from Maui. Stir has their version called Hawaiian Strawberry Frost. My opinion… It tastes nothing like it =(needless to say, I was a little disappointed =(I feel that it’s two different things n hard to compare. It’s tasty but I probably won’t have it again. If u know me, im pretty simple when it comes to froyo. I love plain. Stirs plain is pretty good. Luckily I put some on top of the Hawaiian Strawberry Frost… The plain is not too tart but sweet enough to give it good flavor. Sample cups r available upon request. Water is available n cups available upon request too. Topping Bar. The bar has its own area n is accessible on all sides which makes it very easy to serve multiple people instead of waiting for the people in front of u. Everything was neat n orderly n clean which was nice. They also had an assortment of drizzle toppings like Nutella, chocolate, caramel n condensed milk. But they also have honey, lychee, mango, strawberry n lilikoi. Now to the meats n potatoes. MOCHIWAFFLES. In reading the reviews, I knew this was something I had to try. Mochi Waffles. There are(4) different flavors available: choco strawberry, mixed berries, honey banana, n Nutella. When asked, the girl said that there’s no one that is really popular but they’re all pretty even. So I went for the choco strawberry. Jus like other reviews, the waffles were cooked to perfection n covered with yummy toppings. Our choco strawberry had fresh cut strawberries, chocolate chips, chocolate drizzle, n whip cream. When cutting into the waffles there’s a nice crunchy crust that gives way to the somewhat gooey center. When looking at the inside, u can see how it resembles mochi. I made sure to have each of the different toppings for my initial bite. It was heavenly!!! It had a nice crunch n then the soft inside was perfectly combined with the sweetness of the toppings. It was very good n this would b something I would look forward to trying again n definitely recommend it to anyone going to Stir.

This place is too cute! I was never in here when it was tutti frutti, but this place is awesome. They have a large open place and great selection of flavors. There’s an island in the middle with the toppings. I didn’t get to try their waffles as I had eaten a big lunch just before but from what I’ve heard, they’re really good.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! I want to shout it out, people! STIR is awesome! I bookmarked this place and finally got a chance to try it on a girl’s day out. Parking is either metered or in the paid lot behind STIR. There is a front and back door for easy entrance no matter where you parked. The place is very clean! There are restrooms for you to use. The toppings bar is HUGE! It actually is a separate island. The counter has the waffle maker, so you can watch your mocha waffles being made. The yogurt dispensers(which I really didn’t notice because I was so focused on mochi waffles) is all lined up along the wall. There is a lot of seating in STIR, as well. Now, down to what is really important — mochi waffles! Based on pictures on Unilocal and descriptions on the menu, I ordered the Choco-Strawberry. Three small mochi waffles, cooked to perfection covered in chocolate chips, strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. Heavenly! This concoction is just so good. I couldn’t even pay attention to my aunty’s Honey Banana waffles.(I did take a picture of it, though.) The waffles are tasty alone. They were crispy and done perfectly! The strawberries and chocolate were just wonderful additions to complete are delicious dessert! The day I tried STIR was the day the torrential rain was hitting all over Oahu. We were able to sit and wait an hour before finally making a run to the car. But not before I was enticed to order a chocolate smoothie. The smoothie was great, not too chocolatey, and didn’t water down quickly. I would like to try the other flavors if I have room in my tummy after trying all the other mochi waffles on the menu! The place is great, the staff is helpful, and the food wonderful! Get down there and try it out!

Food: MOCHIWAFFLES!!! — These waffles are delicious. The texture is crispy on the out side, then moist and chewy on the inside; very fitting to it’s name. — Honey Almond Mochi Waffles: This particular«flavor» has banana slices, whipped cream, sliced almonds, and honey drizzled on top. This is by far my favorite option on their menu for the waffles. The bananas add a mildly tart, creamy texture to the mix, while the honey add the perfect balance of sweetness. — Chocolate Strawberry: Sliced strawberries, whipped cream, mini chocolate chip, and chocolate syrup drizzled on top. A must try to chocolate lovers! Personally as someone who doesn’t LOVE chocolate, it was a bit of a let down. All I could taste was the chocolate, which sadly masked the tart sweetness of the strawberries. Service: The staff is friendly and sweet. Ambiance: This is certainly one of my favorite facets of this place. The décor is so cute, clean, modern, and inviting. This is a great place to come with family, friends, and even children. They even have a bookshelf stocked with lots of family friendly books. Overall: A great place for a sweet snack!

I was in the area and wanted some dessert so I found this place. Inside is very clean and there is a lot of tables. They have smoothies, mochi waffles and tutti frutti frozen yogurt. I got the froyo since I wanted something cold. They charge $ 0.49 an ounce. There is a variety of flavors. I ended up paying almost $ 8 for my yogurt since I put more than I needed. It was tasty and they have a variety of toppings. They have cute stamp cards for customers. You get a stamp for every $ 3 spent. You can get up for $ 14 or $ 15 off your purchase of you fill it up. Next time I would like to try their mochi waffles because they look great!

A great place to get some cool, refreshing snacks and drinks during the hot summer in Kaimuki. Used to be a Frutti Tutti. Pros: * Large variety of toppings to choose from for your froyo(frozen yogurt) * A pretty good variety of froyo flavors * Very clean store * Friendly staff * Plenty of places to sit * Very quick service * Bright and spacial store design Cons: * Unless you can get street parking out front(Waialae Ave), you’ll have to park in the Municipal Parking lot behind the shopping complex. This parking lot can get very crowded and very expensive. But you pay for the convenience I suppose.

Different parts of Oahu have different climates. To me, Kaimuki is like a desert. It’s dry, hot, dusty, and arid. So… if Kaimuki is the desert, then Stir is the oasis! Luckily, I found street parking on Waialae Avenue, in front of the park. There was money in the meter already, so BONUS for me! Free parking! Yeah! I walked up a block into this relatively new dessert place and WOW! that air conditioning felt so good — especially in the late afternoon! The place was pretty empty with a table of aunties chatting in a corner. Just wanting something cold to drink, I decided on the lychee smoothie — it was just right! After taking a look around, I decided to try some of the soft serve flavors. I got the melon, strawberry, blueberry, coconut, and mango pineapple. Everything was really good! The service was pleasant and efficient with good eye contact and appropriate conversation! The place is really clean and bright with lots of seating options. They are using the bowls and spoons from the previous tenant — these are self serve — along with the frozen yogurts and the miriad of toppings. It’s 49 cents an ounce right now. I didn’t get a chance to try the waffles or coffee, so I shall return… If you go, I hope you have a great experience, too! Enjoy!

We found it!!! Guri guri! We found it! Ok, so it’s not the same guri guri that Maui has but gosh, I will take it! We normally stop by Stir that used to be called Tutti Frutti for our weekend dessert. This time we saw the sign outside that said Hawaiian Strawberry Frost. So I eagerly ran to the front desk and had to ask them if that was guri guri! I must have sounded like a 5 year old begging their parents for candy, but I didn’t care! I got so excited! Of course the service was wonderful and the ladies showed me the guri guri! I was so ticked and started to fill the bowl with lots of guri guri and my other favs– coffee, taro… I know, odd mix, but hey, whatever works right? So yummy!!! One day I need to try the smoothies and the waffle cones. I haven’t gotten that far yet because the frozen yogurt is so gosh darn yummy!

This is fantastic, turn a rotten day around kind of frozen yogurt. Of course the newly decorated interior is too cute for words. It has a spare, clean feel and it smells downright heavenly from the waffles cooking and fresh coffee brewing. You really could settle in to read if you were so inclined. So what about the yogurt? I love the light, airy, almost icy texture. The flavors are spot on and the array of toppings is respectable. They even had raspberry syrup, which made my day because I have a lifelong love affair with raspberries. As for location, it’s conveniently housed in the same block with Big City Diner, Seed, et al. I was there to get my nails done at another favorite spot, Modern Nails, so this is going to become a regular thing. Wonder how many kettle bell swings I’m gonna have to add to my workout to burn off this delight? It’s work it, though!

I’ve come here once when it was tutti fruity and it was alright, to me most yogurt places are all the same to me lol. I will admit however that this one is very very clean. They have a wide variety of flavors. Personally nothing beats original. They could use a little bit more toppings but other then that good selections!

Swung by on a weeknight just for the mochi waffles that I’ve been hearing so much about, though they do have several different dessert options for the sweet tooth. Replacing the good ol’ Tutti Frutti, Stir naturally has a pretty nice selection of both yogurt and toppings, similar to other typical froyo joints. They also have smoothies and acai listed on the menu as well. With eager eyes set on the mochi waffles, I opted for the strawberries and chocolate mochi waffles… comes with 3 mini waffles(don’t kid yourself, it’s pretty filling), topped with chocolate syrup, fresh strawberries, mini chocolate chips, and whipped cream. Oh my sweetness! Now if that don’t give you da diabeeeeetus, I don’t know what will! The waffle itself was delicious with that mochi-stickiness-consistency. However, I think the dish was too sweet for my liking; it definitely STIRred up a sugar high. Next time I may opt for just plain waffles. Staff is super friendly, atmosphere is clean and bright, check it out!

Brand spanking new with a mature look and sound. No, I’m not talking about Nick Jonas. I’m talking about Stir! Recently re-opened, Stir is the freshly renovated space which was formerly Tutti Frutti. But don’t think of the two as the same froyo place. Stir updated its interior décor to be the perfect spot for the late night crowd after dinner. Prices went up to $ 0.49/oz for the yogurt, so a cup with two flavors and toppings will be a buck or two more. I know that wasn’t the most scientific unit of measurement, so please forgive my social scientist approach to gauging prices. Here’s what’s exciting and new: Macha Mochi waffles have been added to the menu, so you will no longer have to wait until breakfast hours to get your fix at Pucks Alley, nor take your chances with the mix the Unilocalers have been bubbling about on Talk. Coffee is now freshly brewed in house as the perfect way to stay cozy. What better chaser is there for yogurt? The one thing Stir kept from the Tutti Frutti days is their delicious and balanced frozen yogurt options. The toppings bar is always well kept and clean, which makes it appetizing. The mom and pop shop feel is real. The owners are super sweet and open to customer’s ideas for flavors. The menu frequently changes with the seasons and based on customer demand. So if there’s something on your mind you want in your mouth, make it known. So, is that gelato place around the corner feeling a little *jealous? Take it away Nick J.
