The location of this church it a little awkward to get to.
I came with a friend for the Sunday evening mass.
Parking lot is very small.
The church was nice and clean. Not crowded at all with lots of seats.
Big ceiling fans throughout and with the doors open… it kept everything cool.
They display the words to the song the choir is singing on a projection screen but it’s difficult to see if you’re not sitting in a good position to see it.

I am not a big church-​goer and the amount of churches I have attended over my lifetime is very limited. Based on that I really like the Star of the Sea church for two reasons:
1) Combination of stain glass windows and the fact that the sides of the church have multiple doors and they are always opened while church is going on (which gives it a nice cross breeze and very cool). When I think of church, that is what comes to mind.
2) Parking. ‘Nuff said.

My mom needed to go to a church while we were on vacay. We were driving along the east shore, and I looked up on the phone, this place came up. I am glad we went!!! The actual church looked like something from te 70’s, but was beautiful since it had essentially no windows! The woodwork was beautiful too.
During service they asked of any visitors, mom said yes. A little old lady brought her a pretty handmade necklace she got to wear. I thought that was pretty cool!!!
If I am ever back in Hawaii, I will definitely recomend my Catholic friends to check it out.
