I havent been to Spark for about 2 years now. Still the same mood and casualness, nice. Spark fall into the same category as 88 tees and Alter Ego. It was made to cater to japanese. Kinda flashier version of 88. They have a lot more toys and misc stuff now. The Spark mens orginal tees look like crap now, I have a couple from back in the day. Designs were much better back then. Had some cute girls tees. I Still like your style Spark! Visit if you are a girl.

I was trying to check out Murua, but it was under construction. This store is located right next to Murua, so I went inside because it looked so cute. I ended up getting 2 pair of shoes and a few shirts. Friendly staff too. Everything is soo cute!!! :D

Seems like another Japanese tourist trap store, except slightly less expensive(than 88 Tees– our last experience there pretty much guarantees we won’t be in again) for vintage pieces at under $ 30 for hawaiian label aloha shirts(mixed rack of clothing). The cool thing is, the vintage toys are fun to look at, though– you can’t touch them, they are on display only and there are also signs stating not to take pictures, too. There were a bunch of Spark logo t-shirts on small tables(so this is where they got them, I saw lots of Japanese female tourists sporting these, over the years). The single saleslady was nice and not accusingly staring at us like we would steal something, because we weren’t Japanese tourists dropping $$$(I know what vintage goes for, on the mainland, and it seems like a huge difference.) Note, that there is a loud beep, upon entering the store.
The store carries it’s own brand Spark and has different style clothing for children, men and women. The style tends to cater to Japanese, but to my surprise there were a lot of vintage stuff in the back of the store. They carried anything from Levi jeans to fur coats, awesome collectible cups, toys and small trinkets. It sounds odd, but this is a fun trendy shop. They had original one piece jewelry throughout the show cases. The t-shirts were under $ 20, but the rest of their clothing was hiked up a bit. Closer to Kuhio than Kalakaua, just head down here and you might find something that might catch your eye. I like shopping at these random boutiques, because it’s nothing from the normal which puts it’s in the category of unique. Unilocal Challenge 365 # 22⁄365

A nice break from all the Louis Vuittons, Chanels, and fancy smancy expensive frou frou around the strip off Kalakaua Avenue… although some of the prices here are pretty high. Head a street down from Kalakaua Avenue and enter Royal Hawaiian St. for some random Japanese retail fun! This definitely caters to the fashion forward crowd of the Japanese tourists, not to say that they should be the only ones shopping here. SUPAKAWAIII They’ve got a little bit of something for everyone. Shoes: Nikes(Dunks(SB’s), Vintage Jordans(3’s, 12’s), unique Van’s with prints I have never seen in the US. Cute boots with the fur, and some other vintage shoes. Random tsotchkes like a minature Tinkerbell(Paris Hilton’s chihuahua) looking dog on a pillow, keychains, Jewelry, sunglasses, and vintage or deadstock toys from the 80’s, 90’s. I saw some vintage luggage, records, and mugs. Lots of collectibles. Some cute new clothes mixed in with some vintage clothes. I saw a cool looking leopard print hoodie with pink trim that looked like something that Frenchie from Grease would wear. I mentioned earlier that some of the prices here are high, but you can definitely find something here that you can afford. They’ve got a selection of tshirts for $ 18.
