I have a soft spot for old school hardware stores, and this is definitely that. Bins of nails, old hardware, all the basics you’d want for home maintenance. The parking is under the building, go slowly down the ramp so you don’t hit anyone. If you need any kind of glass cutting done, this is the spot. Weird old windows, mirrors, anything, these guys have it, and can cut it perfectly. I come here for panes for old sash windows all the time, and they’re really nice and will cut whatever you need right then. They also have all the little hardware and tools you need. Cash only, but worth the minor inconvenience. All that being said, try to get the older gentleman to help you. The younger guy(the son? nephew? I don’t know.) is brusque and a little condescending. That and the fact it’s super dusty lost it the fifth star, but I’ll still stop here before going to Lowes or Home Depot.

They are the best source for parts, tools, and supplies for old houses in Manoa/Nuuanu as well as houses built in the 50’s. And Very fair prices. Also for Japanese woodworking tools = kanna and chisels. I you want glitz go to Lowes. Their brass hardware and glass are bargains.

This place is a weird pile of old nails and odds and ends. Be ready to dig around and be covered in dust. Imagine junkyard.
