This place was really good!!! Portions were huge I had to share my plate. Price was not bad either for the amount of food given. I’m coming back tonight :) I’ll put an updated review if needed.

After months of missed opportunities to get together for lunch with our CM Emi H., the stars aligned and finally a date had been set. We had been talking about possible venues and I started wracking my brain. I appreciated that she was flexible with her time, tastebuds and allowed me to select a restaurant. I wanted to invite other fellow Yeeps who could join us during lunch time and had to consider that many are usually working. As the date drew closer, I started to worry that I might choose a restaurant that was a «dud» or Fail. Ack! My husband told me that I should be «whipped with a cold, wet noodle» for allowing such low self-esteem thoughts to pervade my mind. Okay, so now I have to give credit to my husband for making that suggestion as bells rang in my head to select Sea Dragon BBQ Cold Noodle House as our meeting place. Luckily, I managed to contact the always effervescent Auntie Nadine as I remembered that she enjoys eating the Korean cold noodle dish and she is like a younger sister to me. Afterwards, several others were contacted but they had to decline due to scheduling conflicts. Thanks to Unilocal Reservations, I booked our date for a party of 6. Speaking of Unilocal Reservations, I had received dining confirmation e-mails but when I called the restaurant on the date of our lunch, they said they didn’t have any record of my reservation. No problem… I arrived at the restaurant early to confirm our reservation and in the meantime, Emi asked if she could extend the invitation to her two Unilocalterns, Brandon and Shelley. What great timing! I managed to secure seating for our group of 7(Emi, Mike, me, Ed, Nadine, Brandon and Shelley). This corner was once a bank which converted into the U.S.A.‘s first Din Tai Fung and then several other restaurants. Where there was once a bank vault, the space now serves as a private dining room for 8 – 10 people. Its contemporary interior is clean and sleek. They even have additional seating upstairs. Each table has a «call button» for service although the servers frequent the tables to refill your beverages or dishes of banchan. The serving portions of the dishes are hefty and most of the food has some hot chilie pepper in it. Many of the dishes were shareable and could feed 2 or more. Based upon the generous portion sizes, the dishes were priced appropriately. We carefully ordered(mild to spicy) the fried mandoo, seafood pancake, beef bulgogi bibimbap, cold noodle in soup, spicy baby octopus and goat stew. Several bowls of steamed white rice to quell some of the pepper heat accompanied the feast. We all enjoyed the flavors even though some of us broke into a «sweat» from the chilie pepper heat. I’m not Korean but, considering that this restaurant was packed with Korean-speaking residents, I’d say that the food was very authentic. We did a good job with our appetites while laughing and«talking story» for over 2 hours. A highlight to our fun lunch was Emi’s gift to us… we ALL got a special«Happy Hat»! As we left the restaurant, Nadine and I skipped our way to the parking lot wearing our Happy Hats and big smiles. I signed a breath of relief that I wasn’t going to get whipped by a cold wet noodle for picking a dud but instead, that cold dish was happily in my stomach! We’re planning to return soon. How about joining us to get a hit by cold wet noodles? #528

Okay, so I was tempted to try. Why? I love Korean food, as mentioned in my previous reviews. Korea= great food, songs, &DRAMA! This is a relatively new restaurant. It was hard to find the parking lot at first but after driving around twice, we encountered the entrance. It’s so hard to see in the dark! Be aware– you have to pay for parking! One dollar an hour, not so bad. I’ve never expected it to be such a fancy looking restaurant, it’s very organized and I fell much in love with how it looked. Very well kept, and the walls were very beautiful. The waiters were attentive, they always checked on us and seem very nice. Although they struggled a little to make recommendations or explain to us how rice wine would taste, it’s understandable since they ARE legit Korean. We decided to start off with a bottle of soju, which was smooth. After a couple of sips it started to taste like rubbing alcohol… Yikes. Lol! But that’s what alcohol does, I guess. I basically came here to try their cold noodles… And so I chose spicy cold noodles. It was good, and I loved it. My boyfriend on the other hand was not very fond of it. The beef pot roast was super good tho! The meat was so tender! Amazing ! The Mandoo was super good too and the sides tasted fresh. If you are not a fan of Korean food or cold noodles… Then I suggest that you look elsewhere. This place is solely for people who are into cold noodles and Korean food… One thing that I dislike about this place… I feel it’s a little too overpriced. Way too overpriced.

Been here twice so far, the first experience was with a bunch of friends hosting a surprise baby shower. This experience was awesome even though our server didn’t quite understand us. The food was amazing, the portions were heaping, the service was on point, and the ambiance was perfecto(we requested a private room and got the«vault»). Only complaint about this experience is the tiny take out containers. The 4 stars is due to the second visit. This time I went with family and Korean speaking friends. Again, food was amazing, service was on point, and the ambiance was perfecto(again, we sat in the vault). The staff played and talked with my son, they didnt mind him walking about touching things. The difference in this visit, the food portions didn’t seem as big as my first visit and while exiting the restaurant, I slipped on water and landed on my knees. The busser came over to apologize. Overall, I love this place! The steamed ribs, spicy cold noodle, and the seafood pancake are my favorites but I have enjoyed everything I’ve tried here.

When my dear friend, Lyla D., suggested we go to a «new place» with our Unilocal Hawaii Community Manager, Emi, I immediately said, «YES!» How could I pass up an opportunity to have lunch with two of the best women of Unilocal Hawaii? I really admire their wisdom, strength, intelligence, beauty, positive attitude, creativity, sense of humor, and other qualities! Sea Dragon is a relatively new Korean restaurant on the corner of King and Kaheka Streets in Honolulu.(It’s the former location of a Din Tai Fung!) There is a parking lot behind the restaurant with an entrance on Kaheka Street that validated our parking for 1.5 hours. Since we stayed later than one and a half hours, Lyla picked up the extra $ 3 in exchange for my taxi services to the next 3 places that we dined at! Hahaha! We ordered enough food to share with Lyla’s and Emi’s husbands(Ed and Mike) and our Unilocal Hawaii Interns(Shelley and Brandon). The Goat Stew had such tender meat, but was too spicy for me. I also had to pass on the Baby Octopus noodle dish — its red chili pepper color was a big deterrent! I enjoyed the Seafood Pancake, the tasty cold noodles, the various banchan, and the Beef Bulgogi Stone Pot dish. Everything had a great presentation and excellent flavor and texture! So yummy! The interior was bright and clean. The service was friendly, courteous, efficient, and helpful. I’m quite sure we’ll be back again and maybe even sit in the private room that used to be a bank vault!

I feel like I failed when I came here. LOL. We didn’t even try the cold noodles! But that was mainly because I was freezing and couldn’t imagine eating any cold dishes =__= Anyway. Sea Dragon BBQ Cold Noodle House(isn’t that a mouth full) is located on the corner of King and Kaheka Street. They have parking available in the back or you can find street parking. The staff was very friendly and checked on us often. The Grub. [[ TOFUSOUPSET $ 29.99 ]] This set comes with tofu soup(seafood or beef), choice of meat(kalbi, beef bulgogi or spicy pork) and served with various side dishes and a rice bowl. I thought this was a great deal ~ Soup, meat, rice and side dishes! Omg you cant go wrong with that. [[ SEAFOODPANCAKE $ 9.99 ]] The seafood pancake was ok, it had a lot of green onion in it. Kind of wish it had a little bit more seafood lol. I definitely want to revisit and try the famous cold noodles!

After reading the glowing reviews of this place, we thought to try it for lunch and I am sad to report that the meal was not up to what the previous reviewers led me to expect. We had the spicy cold noodle, the clam soup and the bul kogi, the latter of which came with five ban chan and rice. The five ban chan: won bok kimchee, cucumber kimchee, turnip kimchee, a sorry looking sukju namul and cucumber slices filled with pollack/crab salad dressed with mayonnaise. The three types kimchee and the noodles were all so similar tasting that the meal was very uninteresting: just one flavor note and not a particularly nuanced one at that. Even adding vinegar and mustard didn’t help. While the clam broth was tasty, the dish was nothing to rave about and the bul kogi was okay: panfried with onions but so over marinated in kan jang to have lost virtually all texture, so the meat just fell apart in the mouth. At the price of $ 19 for hte bul kogi and ban chan and about $ 12 each for the cold noodles and soup(I have misplaced the receipt), it is not a worthwhile meal stop.

They have some great sides that will really help you feel like you are in a traditional Korean home. The cold noodles are pretty amazing, especially on a hot day or night. The most impressive item was the tonkatsu. This was so soft and crispy. It was hard to imagine that this could have been real.

The steamed ribs and bulgogi stone pot are both really tasty. The restaurant has lots of parking in the lot in back and the interior is new and very clean. It looked like there are one or two private rooms for small dinner parties. Service is quick and efficient. I’m definitely going back to try some other dishes.

Just ate at the new cold noodle house located on the corner of King and Kaheka Street and I’d say it’s definitely a place I’d go back to eat. The cold noodle is delicious and they give you more noodles than some other places I’ve been to. We also ordered the mandoo and it was also delicious. Even my fiancé who doesn’t eat cold noodle ordered it and loved it. It cost a little more than some other places but it’s worth it since the quality of the food is better and they have great service.

We are not cold noodles fan but a client said that we had to try the steamed ribs. Steamed ribs? We ordered their pork tonkatsu and steamed ribs. Both dishes were really good but I am here to sing the praises of their steamed ribs. It comes on a sizzling platter with cooked daikon and carrots and could easily serve two or three people. The waitress asked us if we wanted it cut. She cleanly cut the meat from the bone. The meat was soft and flavorful. It reminded me of the short ribs at Alan Wong’s without the shoyu. The cooked root vegetables were delicious. The dish reminded me of an Asian version of a pot roast. Highly recommend it. Service was prompt and friendly.

I think this is a great place to eat mul naengmyung. The portion size was enough and the cold broth was made to perfection. This is probably the best place that I know of so far that sells the best mul naengmyung. Also the kimchi was the best I’ve ever eaten here. Very comparable to my Aunty’s kimchi, and hers is the best. It was so good, I asked for refills of it 3 times. We also ordered their seafood pancake/hae mul pajun. It was yummy. It was crispy and not doughy like other places. I also like how the place seemed clean and new. Service was great and they came prompt and quick whenever we pushed the button. This is a great new restaurant!

While the naeng myun(Korean cold buckwheat noodle soup) is a bit pricey for lunch at $ 13.99, the noodles were of great quality and very chewy the way it should be. The soup was good, if not average, and they put it a good amount of veggies and sliced meat within it. I also was able to share in a galbi soup, and the galbi within the soup was also of good quality. Ban chan with three different kinds of kimchi(cabbage, raddish, cucumber) was a nice touch. The servingware and presentation was artful. Finally we used the Unilocal check in offer for the fried mandoo, and it was fresh and delicious. I hope they survive here as this spot has gone through many iterations of food from xiao long bao to other fancy type Asian cuisine. There are dining areas on two floors, and are clean and modern. Parking is free with validation in the lot off Kaheka. Sea Dragon goes down in my book as having the best naeng myun in town(I am not a big fan of the Yu Chun black noodles, I haven’t tried Budnamjip yet).

I really enjoyed my eating experience here!!! There is a parking lot in the back — it looks like a Pay to Park — but there is also ample street parking which I used instead. Like most places, parking is free on Sundays and after six at metered stalls on the street. As soon as I opened the door we were greeted by the bartender and host. There was nice soft rock playing on the speakers and the interior is classy but casual. Their specialty is cold noodles, but they also serve many other dishes. My friend got their spicy cold noodle and I got the bulgogi and we ordered their fried mandoo to share. Tea and cold water was brought to the table and once we ordered, vinegar and mustard was also put on the table. The side dishes that came to the table were very flavorful and not too spicy. Kimchee, cucumber kimchee, tempura zucchini, pickled spicy radish and pickled cabbage. The mandoo is pretty big and stuffed with the filling. The sauce that accompanies it is nicely balanced — not too sour, not too sweet. The bulgogi comes on a sizzling platter and is heaped with soft, delicious pork!!! There are onions on the bottom and green onion sprinkled on top. The pork is cooked perfectly, soft, and cut so that all you need to do is pick up a piece and eat. Yummo!!! The spicy cold noodle was also a winner!!! There is an abundance of noodles and a lot of goodies in the bowl. The sauce for the spicy cold noodles tastes like the kimchee sauce — which is soooo tasty — and not too spicy!!! Service is excellent here. I will definitely be back sometime soon to try something else on their menu!!!

Been hankering for some Korean cold noodle all summer so was delighted to find this place. Our small order: — Neng myun, traditional cold noodle with the right garnishes: meat, picked radish, Asian pear, and sliced cucumber, served with an icy slush layer floating on top. — Galbi, grilled ribs that didn’t have too much fat, served on a sizzle platter. — Bowl of rice Service was good and food really hit the spot. Would come again for my summer combo(cold noodles and galbi). Would love to try their galbitang during colder weather.

Authentic Korean food! We were seated quickly and attended to often throughout our meal. The manager was very friendly. Our food came within 20 mins! We ordered: Seafood pancake: love that it was partly burnt! barely any seafood(like 3 pieces of squid), but the taste was great. Bibim naengmyeon: asked for spicy so it was extra spicy but so tasty! Mul naengmyeon: also tasty. not vinegary like some places incorrectly make theirs. Bulgogi bibimbap: this was my favorite. hard to go wrong with bibimbap, but the bulgogi was marinated well; sweet and generous amount. They will put the kochujang(spicy sauce) and leave the container for you so you can adjust spice level. A waitress said the kalbi jjim is really good so that’s on our list for the next visit! We went on a Friday night during dinner time. Plenty people when we got there but by the time we left, there was only one group. I hope this place does well in the future!

a new korean restaurant with very limited selections and higher prices. tried their signature dish the cold noodle 13.99 $, seafood pancake 9.99 $ and wang mandoo 3 $ the restaurant is new and clean and the service is friendly.
