Good group, service is good –I had no pain and was happy overall.

I really enjoyed my experience with Dr. Kashiwada. His staff is so friendly and they made me feel totally comfortable. He really helped me see where the problem areas were for my teeth. I would definitely recommend him as a dentist.
The reason I gave him 4 stars instead of 5 is because he is great… and he knows it and he says it a lot.

Doctor. Kashiwada is T H E B E S T. I have used him for around two years and i also suggest him anytime I could. The employees is pleasant, I never ever wait around a lot more than a few minutes to have an visit and that he has this uncanny capability to help you get the doorway in 1 hour.

Unfortunately we are leaving the island and I will have to find another dentist… But one thing is for sure — I will never find a better dentist office anywhere.
Since my last review, the only thing that has changed is my growing affection for Dr. Kashiwada and his staff. They are still amazing and have grown into extended family. They repaired a crappy filling (done by another dentist) with the upmost care. I even whitened my teeth and can say with confidence that my teeth are looking the best they have ever.
They treated my daughters (10 & 12) who were extremely scared of the dentist but made it a safe and comfortable environment for them. They actually enjoy the dentist now :)
I’m sad that were leaving and once again I’m anxious with trying to find a dentist. No other dentist office will replace this amazing crew. I can’t not sing their praises enough! I’m going to miss them!!!

I absolutely love MY dentist, I’ve been seeing Dr. Kashiwada since I was 6 years old and I am now 25. The staff are always a joy to be around and I actually look forward to going to the dentist because of them! The office is family oriented, professional and super clean. I am extremely lucky to have been introduced to them at such a young age. I honestly don’t think I could ever consider seeing anyone else for my dental needs.

As a military family, we’re used to hunting for a new dentist with every move. In over 30 years, lots of moves. Lots of dentists.
Dr. Kashiwada stands above the rest by a mile! He is a self-​professed chicken about pain so if you or your children are fearful of dentists, Dr. Kashiwada is definitely who you want to see. His entire team is warm, welcoming, considerate and outstanding at their job! The dentistry practices in the office are world class and he’s truly the best choice for a dentist on Oahu.
On top of being a great choice for children and chicken-​hearted adults, Dr. Kashiwada has perfected his own procedure for correcting his patient’s bites. This procedure, while not cheap, is worth EVERY PENNY! The results are amazing and improvement starts immediately. I was having jaw pain from grinding and clenching in my sleep. More importantly, I was cracking my teeth and existing dental work!
It’s hard to believe Dr. Kashiwada’s small and painless adjustments have such a positive change so quickly and completely but they DO. Muscle tension started resolving the first hour after the first appointment. I’d been living with much of the tension and pain for so long, I wasn’t conscious of it anymore. After the first appointment, I felt as if my face was relaxing from a perpetual frown. Such a relief!
If you’re suffering from TMJ, headaches, jaw pain, cracking teeth… see Dr. Kashiwada. Once you hear the price, take a deep breath and ask yourself: How much is a pain free jaw worth? How much are fewer or zero headaches worth? And how much will it cost to repair those future cracked teeth? If you can possibly afford it, DO IT! You won’t be sorry!

Just finished my first adjustment for Bruxism and TMJ and have never experienced this level of relaxation. Literally, sitting in the chair. It’s incredible. Almost like all of my muscles on my head, face and jaw are tingling because they aren’t forced to contract. I had no idea how tight and stressed my muscles were. Absolutely the best decision. Can’t wait to see how I feel in the morning! Thank you Dr. K and Team!
If you suffer from tension headaches, grumpiness, teeth grinding, stress induced clenching, have pain in your shoulders, and think you’ve tried everything out there to help… you have not. I went to chiropractors, massage therapists, general practitioners and acupuncturist and had no idea what it felt like for all my muscles to be relaxed and in the right spot. Go see Dr K. It’s more than worth the investment. Amazing.

Service is soo awesome!!! They keep you laughing & their always in a GREAT MOOD you hear laughter more than drills!!! I had my share of different dentists it took me this long to finally found THE ONE!!! I been traumatized but not anymore. Dr. Kashiwada even told me to save my $$$$ spend it on something else besides considering braces/​Invisalign. However, I’ve been considering teeth whitening for quite awhile now so when he said if I want i can do teeth whitening ONLY IF I WANT (I DIDNT EVEN MENTION IT TO HIM!). (NO PRESSURE) my face lit up when he said that: D their NOT after your money. They just want to take care of your SM:)E n make u more confident. I look forward to my visits now. Of course i still get nervous, the dentist smell, the drill everything, but ATLST i know now my teeth are in VERY GOOD HANDS WITH DR. Kashiwada, BARB & DOREEN. You don’t even feel pain!!! I swear!!!

I’ve been going to Dr. Kashiwada’s for years & I absolutely love this office! Everyone is so friendly & personable. A few years ago Dr. Kashiwada did some adjustments to my bite. I was having tension headaches more and more frequently (almost daily) & also started noticing some jaw pain. I blamed it on the stress of nursing school & my upcoming board exam, but Dr. Kashiwada could tell my teeth weren’t fitting together just right & recommended a bite adjustment. The process does take multiple appointments, depending on how much work needs to be done, but the appointments are pretty quick & painless. After just a few sessions, the jaw pain was gone and the tension headaches started to subside. Years later and still no jaw pain. I get an occasional headache, but NOTHING like before the adjustments (I have a pretty stressful job, so tension headaches are unavoidable).
They’re located in the building with the Wyland painting on the side near the airport. Very convenient & easy to find. Parking is validated & free as well.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kashiwada and his wonderful staff for any of your dental needs. They are true professionals and genuinely care about each patient. His office is always very helpful in scheduling appointments and following up after each visit.
Dr. Kashiwada has been especially helpful in diagnosing and treating my TMJ through adjustments to my bite. I immediately noticed relief in the muscle tension in my neck and shoulders and no longer have headaches. They are the best people in the business and I’m so grateful to have their support !

This place is the best dentist that ive ever been to, and ive been to five prior. They treat me like family and always make me feel welcomed. I always have a good time when i come here. Were always talking story and making jokes. Im so comfortable with telling them anything, i even tell them about my boyfriends. Hahahahaha. Just kidding. I no more boyfriend, but if idid, then iwould tell them. They even fed me one time. It was before my appointment and itold them that i didnt eat yet so they offered me a sandwich and a pumpkin pastry. Theyre also very supportive. They came to one of my volleyball games by surprise. Iwouldve never thought that iwould see my dentists at my game, but iguess thats just how awesome they are. Not only are they really caring and fun to be around. Their service is great. They make sure that idont feel any pain and they make sure that im as comfortable as possible. There are even times where ifell asleep during my appointment. Idont even consider this place a dentist office. Its more like a second home. Im always excited to go to the dentist [and im sure that not many people say that]. Ihighly recommend you to choose this dentist. They will take good care of you. If icould rate this place 7 stars, iwould rate it 6. Hahaha. Nah nah jkjk. Iwould rate them a 10 out of 5. Over all, theyre the best on the island.

My experience here was so great that I felt compelled to write my very first review!
I chose this dentist based on the reviews found here on Unilocal.After experiencing it myself, I can truly say that all the previous reviews are spot on.
On my very first visit I was warmly greeted by name before even giving my name as if I’d been going there for years. After sitting in «the chair» I nearly forgot about my extreme fear of dentists. Barbara provided explanations every step of the way, xrays, polishing, probing, proper way to brush and floss etc. Amazingly, after examination Dr. Kashiwada predicted that I have a lot of tension in my neck and shoulder areas (Umm…I thought I came to see a dentist!?). He’s correct, my neck and shoulders have given me so much problems that I have bought several different pillows thinking the problem due to lack of neck support while sleeping and was on the verge of seeing a chiropractor. Dr says that will be a waste of money and he knows the solution. Will have to wait and see if he’s correct.
Easy to find. Located near the airport in the building with the Wyland mural on the side. Nice view. Validated parking.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! You couldn’t possibly find a more friendlier staff that really love their jobs and treats you like family.

There is not enough space on this page, for me to describe, how awesome Dr. Kashiwada and his great staff are! What I can say is, if you have not experienced their care, you my friend are missing out on something that rarely comes by in ones life. Don’t miss out on the staff and in my humble opinion the best Dentist I have had the honor to be blessed by. I thank God for Doc and his wonderful staff!

Dr. Kashiwada has been our family dentist for 10 years. During that time he & his staff have consistently provided 5 star professional dentistry in a very personal manner. The office is a cheerful place to be and they go above & beyond to provide excellent care while treating you like family. They use top of the line equipment & dental materials without ever cutting corners. They are constantly improving their skills by attending seminars & traveling to conferences as a team. Dr. Kashiwada will explain everything he is doing during your appointment and he takes his time with each patient. He & his staff are excellent with children. They have cared for my children from toddlers to teens. He is known as «Uncle» & his staff are known as «Auntie». Additionally, he has a great working relationship with Dr. Morita, an outstanding local orthodontist whom he referred me to, which made it very easy to coordinate things when 2 of my children needed braces. I liked that the doctors were on the same page when it came to the treatment plan. The staff knows the ins & outs of dealing with the insurance companies and I have never encountered any problems with billing or had to navigate the confusing insurance policies (especially with military contracts changing.) I really appreciate that as well as the courtesy calls I always receive when it is time for my appointment or to check how I am feeling after an appointment. The professionalism you will find here is a refreshing contrast in a world of mediocre service and substandard care. Dr. Kashiwada is the best choice in dentistry on the island!

Ok, first of all, you have to understand that I do NOT like dentists! And, I have tried to avoid them for as long as I can due to a lot of dental work done on me when I was a lot younger. So henceforth, my apprehension of going to dentists is humongous.
With that being said, It has probably been almost 20 years since I’d been to a dentist (last time when I got my molars pulled). However, just recently, I chipped my rear top tooth biting into an almond (I’m such a dumbo right?!?).
Well, again with apprehension, I started searching around for a dentist. I checked with my dental plan, recommendations from others, and of course Unilocal. Which is when I came across Dr. Kashiwada. I read some really nice reviews and so decided that this was going to be it since I really needed to see a dentist and soon.
I made an appointment for the following week for my first appointment which would consist of the standard cleaning, x-​rays, and searching around for what needs to be done.
I walked into the waiting room and first thing I hear is laughter… coming from the staff and Dr. Kashiwada! Ok! Great way to be greeted. They were just «talking story» and having a good time. I proceeded with apprehension to fill out the usual paperwork wondering «Ok, what did I get myself into here?» It could be that they were all sniffing the nitrous too much, or that they were just a little cooky in this office.
Barbara proceeded to map out my mouth with what needed to be done and what had already been done in the past. I explained to her my fear of dentists and she non-​chalantly told me that I’d be okay in this office. Barbara proceeded cleaning my teeth during which I explain to her my dental history. Most of my dental work had been done in Japan when I was a tween and the most recent (here in Honolulu) havng my molars taken out in my adult life.
Elena (sp?) took some x-​rays of my mouth and again, the experience so far was okay. Just okay.
I meet Dr. Kashiwada for the first time and he proceeds right to business. «Tooth #_​needs this, tooth #_​need that…». He’s cordial and nice, but more business as expected. Then, he proceeds to tell me a story about this NEW patient he had the other day where he came in for the last appointment of the day and ended up staying until 2100 (like 2 hours after closing) just talking story. TALKING STORY like they were old friends. And this was a NEW patient.
Well, after that story, I felt pretty comfortable. Dr. Kashiwada is personable, his staff are really nice (and personable too), and the whole atmosphere is perfectly comfortable. Ok so far. Just okay (again).
After my first appointment is finished, I ask when do I come in again? Doreen asks me, can you come tomorrow? And, I jokingly say «Sure». «Okay, see you about lunch time 11:30» Uhhhh, really?!? I don’t go to a dentist for 20 years and now I’m going two days in a row???
Yup, I ended up going two days in a row. Second day was working on my fillings and the temporary fix on the chipped tooth. This experience was more pleasant than the first day! Involved a topical anesthetic, and a shot in the upper right quarter of my mouth. Didn’t feel a thing! In fact, the entire process, didn’t feel a thing. I think it had more to do with Dr. Kashiwada’s technique than the anesthetic. REALLY!
And, I also realized while watching Dr. Kashiwada and his staff (during this second day), at how well oiled this machine was. From managing three (3) operating rooms with three (3) staff to watching Dr. Kashiwada was just like watching a ballet in motion. And, during the entire process of all this, most of the time you can hear laughter and giggles all around.
Dr. Kashiwada’s office is like being in the 80’s sitcom «Cheers». Remember? «Where everybody know your name…» It’s so like that.
I would STRONGLY recommend this office. It’s not just okay anymore. It’s AWESOME!
Doreen, Barbara, Elena, and most Dr. Kashiwada are so much like ohana. And, Doreen even called me on the third day (non appointment) to check up on my and make sure I was doing okay! Howzthat!!!
Only downside is that you need to bring cash with you. Not a problem though. Barbara, Doreen or Elena will tell you in advance of how much is expected.
I look forward to going to Dr. Kashiwada in a few weeks again!!!

Love Love Love them! I had SOOOO much work to be done and they have always found a way to squeeze me in! They never made me feel bad about the shape my teeth were in, instead they worked with me and got me back on track! Sadly enough… I have moved off the island and know that I will never find a dentistry with that kind of ALOHA. I would recommend everyone to them! They’re like family and will truly be missed :(

Absolutely the best, bar none. Dr. Kashiwada always looks out for his patients’ best interests. He takes the time to explain what he’s doing and why he’s doing it, listens to your concerns and puts you completely at ease.
And he surrounds himself with excellent people. His staff is spot on with everything they do. They put you as much at ease as Dr. Kashiwada does. I look forward to seeing them every time I have an appointment.

One of the many things that makes this dental office one of a kind is that the staff is suuuuuper friendly! You aways feels special when you visit. All the offices ladies say hi and use my first name. I’ve been to offices where I have waited and waited to be greeted only to be asked what my name is. Annoying right!!!
Dr. Kashiwada is nice, thorough, informative, and honest. I like that he is able to show me on a TV screen exactly what the issue is. Then explain in laymens terms how he will fix my teeth.
Side note: if you see me in person and are in need of a dentist you’ll probably want to ask me who my dentist is and go there. I got a beautiful «grill» and it’s thanks to my dental team!
