Riches has been in a kiosk between what is now Banana Republic and Complete Kitchen in Kahala Mall for years. Lo, the owner, has the foresight and good taste to bring in new and exciting designers and artists. She was the first to bring in Kate Spade handbags before anyone knew who Kate Spade was… Take time to browse and walk around the entire kiosk to see what they have to offer. Lo promotes local designers and artists with trunk shows, but also carries mainland designers and artists’ wares, and we are the winners for it because we get amazing items at good prices! Join the preferred club and get 10% off purchases! Gotta love discounts, all discounts! Woo hoo!

went on May 8th to get a Mom’s day gift. yes, i went to shop for a gift only a few days away from Mother’s day… Procrastinating since college: P i’ve passed by this store many many times while walking around Kahala mall, but have never purchased anything. either they don’t have things that are my style, or the things i did like were really expensive. this time around, i actually did make a purchase. first off, this place has GREAT customer service. the girl who helped me was so so so super nice. she answered all my questions without missing a beat. i decided to get one of those«Clipa» purse holder things that you can use to hang your bag on the edge of a table. in our conversation, i also found out that this thing holds up to 45 pounds O_O and is popular not only for hanging on tables, but bathroom stall doors, and other such things. the item was a little pricey at $ 25, but i figured it was ok b/c i’ve actually seen other places selling the Clipa for more than that! you can also get it cheaper online, but… procrastination means i had to buy it then. also, without having to ask, the girl working that night very very nicely wrapped up the gift in tissue, raffia, and nice bag! they have lots of interesting bags, jewelry, wallets, and other accessories, so if you’re wandering around Kahala mall, definitely check them out!

Such a great little store… Lo really packs in the very stylish merchandise… handbags, jewelry, wallets, M-Clip money clips, Clip-a purse hangers, RFID cases… She has great style and fair prices. Riches Kahala has been in the mall forever and she always has the latest and nicest items… seriously, you gotta check it out! She has special things for Mothers’ Day and us bringing in things for Fathers’ Day and graduation

We went here over the holidays and I’m going to tell you right now that this little kiosk has more amazing finds than you’ll discover in a day of shopping. Yes, there are some pricey items but there are also a ton of very affordable pieces that you’ll have in your jewelry wardrobe for years and that alone is worth a visit. Well stocked, amazing service too.

It’s easy for some unknowing people to stride past this little kiosk in the heart of Kahala Mall, but I can never walk by Riches without sneaking a glance at the beautiful jewelry glinting in their display cases. They carry hard-to-find designers and unique items without limiting themselves to similar types of styles or catering to one kind of person. I find that their offerings tend to be more on the pricey side, but maybe that’s because I’m always drawn to their local fine jewelry selection. And that’s another plus — Riches showcases brand-new Hawaii designers, many of whom go on to become famous in the rest of the U. S. and eventually stock their wares in boutiques across the state and the country! I bought a gorgeous necklace today from Misa Jewelry’s trunk show that I can’t wait to wear, and I’ll be back soon to check out other designers(LK Atelier has some pretty designs). Misa grew up in Hawaii, but is now based in Los Angeles; she has enjoyed lots of success on the mainland(in fact, her business was born because people on the streets of L. A. kept on buying her handmade jewelry off her person!), and true to form, Riches was selling her pieces way before she became a big name. The last Riches secret I have for you: once you spend $ 500(be sure to keep your receipts), they’ll endow you with a 10% off store discount for life. Local shopping doesn’t get better than this.

Owner’s very snobby — some items not nicely made– very few good ones. Over priced.

Love this shop! They carry the most unique things and the customer service is outstanding! It’s a rarity for me if a trip to Kahala Mall doesn’t include a stop at Riches. One piece of advice… if you like something, buy it as chances are the item won’t be there when you return.

I am obsessed with what I am going to call«Hawaii beach chic.» I grew up in the islands, went away for a while, and now find myself drawn to fashion that takes authentic local elements and makes them highly wearable in a more mainstream sense. The jewelry selection at Riches, a small but well thought-out kiosk at Kahala Mall, is the perfect example of this. Prior to my best friend’s wedding last week, I was browsing around for a nice gift to give her from the bridal party. Specifically I was looking for something that fit the criteria of the look I mentioned above, as the bride too is a Hawaii ex-pat now living in Sacramento. I wanted to get her something that would remind her of home but still look entirely classy at any semi-formal or formal event on the mainland. I had never paid much attention to Riches in all my years passing it at Kahala, but that day a shelf of pretty earrings happened to catch my eye. They all had shell and/or bead details, some with tropical flower motifs, ranging from simple to complicated, and all definitely looking expensive. I knew I had to get my girl a pair! The friendly saleswoman summarized the price range of the earrings I was looking at, all made by local designers, anywhere from $ 30 to $ 150. I loved so many of the choices(and if I could I’d buy them all out myself, seriously), but in the end I decided on a pair of simple gold-filled teardrop-shaped earrings with a long, twisty shell hanging inside. As I suspected she would, my friend loved them(check them out, they’re beautiful: )! Riches is located just off the center of the mall, in a kiosk near The Compleat Kitchen and Carousel Candyland. They also sell other types of jewelry, purses and wallets, and have a decent sale section as well.

Don’t let the name fool you, though there are some pricey items at this standalone boutique/kiosk, much of the other items are more affordable than you’d think! For similar earrings at a different boutique I could end up paying upwards of $ 50. I got a gorgeous pair at Riches for half that price. Check it out instead of walking on by… I’ve gone by it so many times assuming everything was overpriced but the friendly worker the other day showed me stuff that was very affordable and made me change my mind about Riches!

Riches is a little gem in Kahala Mall. Whenever I go, I confess I swoop by there at least twice. Once to walk around the whole kiosk and then once more to stare at something that I LOVE. Okay, do not ever buy anything that is not on sale here. If it is not on sale, I repeat, do not buy it. Chances are that it will go on sale and you will kick yourself for buying it full price. So far, I have bought five pairs of earrings and a bag(MELEANA!!!). I waited. And I waited and I got them all on sale. I still get tons of compliments on the bag and earrings and it’s been a few years. I must say everything at Riches is unique and you can’t get many of the things anywhere else except maybe the HOBO bags, which you can now get at Nordstrom. Why not a 5 star rating: Sometimes the girls in the kiosks are a little… busy talking to the security guards or tidying up the window displays, but some of them are very friendly. It’s kind of hit or miss with the service, but honestly, I don’t know how friendly I’d be cooped up in the kiosk all day either so I’ll give them a break. It’s hard times working in retail! At any rate, Riches is one of the reasons why making a stop at Kahala Mall is worth it(besides Ohelo Road and Red Mango). Go there!

This little kiosk in Kahala Mall has so many treasures at all different price points. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years now. The owner always manages to buy pieces that are cute & hard to find. She carried Kate Spade & Lulu Guiness before anyone else in Honolulu. Now she is well stocked in Tookata People. Bags, jewelry & hats. Prices ~$ 20 to ~$ 400. Service is excellent, all the salesgirls are knowledgeable and oh so friendly. Nothing but positive vibes.
