Lots of good selection + very good customer service. But it was ruined over a simple detail: What kind of Gift Basket store doesn’t have cellophane to wrap the basket in??? We spend $ 250 on a new baby gift basket (that also included food stuffs, wine, etc.) and the only option was to leave it wide open??? We were told we could wait 3 hours until Owner came in and maybe she could BUY some cellophane. RIDICULOUS.

I absolutely love this store because I get creatively inspired by it. I don’t often buy things, but I love looking at the cards, stationery, gift sets, etc.
I do make an exception and buy things during the Christmas season, however. Namely … just these little gingerbread people.
I’m pretty particular about my gingerbread. They need to be soft and moist, not crispy and crunchy like gingersnaps. I also do like a prevalent gingerbread smell and taste … I want to know what I’m eating!
The cookies from Red Pineapple are on the pricier side, about $ 9 each. But, they definitely don’t disappoint. Gingerbread is only available during the Christmas season, so this is my No. 1 stop if I want to indulge.
The gingerbread here are available in both, girl and boy variations. I love them because they contain a good amount of frosting without being overly sweet or overwhelming. The cookies taste fresh and I can aptly taste the gingerbread, but that also isn’t overpowering. Finally, the cookies are moist and tender, just the way I like them. Plus, their cute designs make them almost too cute to eat … almost.
Thanks Red Pineapple, for bringing these seasonal cookies in! They’re my absolute favorite on the island, when it comes to gingerbread. I enjoy popping in the store during the year, but especially during the holiday season, thanks to these goodies.

There are always really cool things in this store. I always have to make a stop if I’m in the area, even if I’m not necessarily looking to buy something, because there is suck a variety of quirky items! They have bags, posters, local snacks, home goods, stationary, baby stuff, and more! The staff is always really friendly and attentive. You always feel welcome when you are here. The stationary is a bit more pricey than I’ve seen at other stores (same brand/​prints). You are sure to find some conversation starters in this store for your home, office, or next gathering!
One thing to note: it’s on the side of Ward where the Paul Brown salon is.

Don’t know why it’s called Red Pineapple. There were no pineapples and nothing really red. I fully expected Hawaiian theme items and didn’t see that much. There are some nice stuff in here, but I let the name of the place disappoint me.

Been coming here for years! It has everything you can think of for your home, wedding/​birthday/​bachelor/​bachelorette/​housewarmin­g gift baskets and even custom baskets made to order! There always sooo friendly n nice upon entering the stole and very helpful! The prices are also reasonable to shop in… every time I walk in it always feels like Christmas! Happy status

This is located inside the ward shopping center just adjacent from BBB (bed bath and beyond). You can park at the garage or across the street at Nordstrom rack and walk over. This shop is an eclectic full of fun and necessary things from disposable cloth diapers to candles, soaps, stationaries and bags. I say necessary because there are some hidden treasures that you could find here, and the prices are affordable and comparable to other places. Looking for a silly fun birthday card? It’s here! Need a last minute gift? It’s here! What about a grocery bag that you’d like to use not just for grocery stuff or books or casually, it’s here too! I come here mostly for the parfums that I would have to buy online & I do a lot of online shopping comparison living in Hawaii. The owner is very inviting and friendly, she is very helpful and if you let her know what you want she will help you find it. If you’re visiting stop by this place, maybe you’ll find something that you could take home as a souvenir. If you live here, check this place out and explore it’s definitely eclectic but filled with hidden treasures!

Cute store with all sorts of unique items inside. A great place to find a gift for a loved one. The cashier (owner?) was super sweet. She was helpful and very friendly. The store is clean and organized.

I actually first visited Red Pineapple (besides the usual window shopping while eating at Goma Tei) while attending their paint night!
It was a super fun time for friends and I! We were super happy we went… $ 35 for a night of painting, wine and pupus. …As well as a store discount!
I adore the unique greeting cards that Red Pineapple sells so I was able to score those with the 10% discount. Planning ahead for upcoming birthdays and events is always worth it!
This is definitely the place to go for unique gifts, local goodies and products with excellent craftsmanship. So many great finds for all ages!

A couple of my friends decided to surprise all of us by eloping in Hawaii, leaving us with very little time to send them a celebratory gift. After a lot of frantic googling I found Red Pineapple and gave them a call.
Yurie was so great right off the bat. She was incredibly friendly and walked me through the entire process, step by step. As I explained the situation to her and told her about my friends she kept coming up with suggestions of items to include in the basket. She was not only helpful, she was actually EXCITED and enthusiastic about creating a unique gift that my friends would love. The couple I was buying a gift for is gay, and the Red Pineapple had a variety of gay wedding themed cards already on hand. This was a very big plus in my book.
There were even a few items that she didn’t have in stock but she said she would go buy them after work to ensure that I had exactly what I wanted in the basket. Her eagerness to help and desire to go above and beyond really helped put me at ease, since I wouldn’t be able to see the finished product beforehand.
They delivered it in a timely manner and my friends were completely surprised by the amazing custom order put together by Red Pineapple.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs to send a gift in the Honolulu area.

I couldn’t help myself! Here I am two days later posting another review! They have these hard to find egg ornaments that I spotted a few days ago. I was unable to check them out, but I couldn’t stop thinking about them so I had to go back and I am so glad I did.
We have been blessed with living in Europe and I managed to buy several of these eggs over there. Due to moving several have been broken. To my surprise, the eggs they sell at the Red Pineapple are shipped in from Austria. They are absolutely gorgeous. I just wish they’d carry them all year long because I would certainly buy more. And a big «darn it» for not seeing them prior to now. Right now you can still buy them while supplies last, otherwise you have to wait until next year. However, I was informed they get them in at Christmas as well. These are the real deal and at a great price!
Of course, since I have a problem when it comes to this store I couldn’t get out of there without buying something else. I’m telling you… if you are looking for a unique gift, something different for the home, etc… this is your place!
On an end note… the staff is awesome and always super friendly. They aren’t up your butt like in some shops, yet there to help and assist if needed. If you buy something or not… they wish you a wonderful day!!! Gotta love it!

I love this store. so much i have to limit myself from going because i overspend :(but…heres a tip… they offer paint n sip classes a few times a month. that in itself is SUPER fun, if you go for thise you also get 10% off the store… mindblown!!! Awesome store, awesome folks, always a good time.

This is my favorite place to head to on the weekend and will be my source for almost all my Christmas shopping. They have anything for everybody. Most of all the best service in town. I had a bad experience with service before heading there today 11/​09/​2014. They completely changed my attitude and then some. Greetings at the door and she said «looks like you’re in search for something and I want to help you with that» she wanted to know about the person I was shopping for, had to help others but sent another person to assist. By the end the entire store knew my story and everyone acknowledged. I didn’t find what I came for but ended up getting something even nicer, and 3 things for me LOL! This was so awesome and literally made my day. To everyone at Red Pineapple… Thank You!

This store is the cat’s pajamas. They carry everything as blah as a hydro flask to cute little notebooks with inspirational sayings and awesome sayings like «Fucking Brilliant» (yes that’s sitting on my desk at work) as well as funny books about manners and mugs and teas and candles and pancake mixes and other things to fill your home with. And don’t get me started on the cute baby gifts… oh did you hear that? Yep that was my biological clock again…
Although the store isn’t the largest, I could easily browse this store forever window shopping and trying not to spend $ 1,000 on things I do and don’t need.
What makes this store even more charming is the staff, because lets be honest even the cutest stores can quickly turn ugly when someone rubs you the wrong way. Every time I walk in here, I am always greeted warmly and as I wander my way around the store staff always offers suggestions and checks on me in a way that genuinely makes you feel like your business is valued.
If you’re in the market for a knickknack, a candle, an ornament or basically anything stop on by. Their merchandise changes seasonally, and they always have something you can find a reason to purchase. Most importantly, you’re supporting a small business and a nice business. Check them out, you won’t regret it.

This store by far was the last place I would expect to carry chamorro chip cookies! But they have them and now I will be a customer for life! Seriously!

Although, while looking around I noticed they carry stationary, gifting items, unique items, jewelry and more! I didn’t quite have the time to explore much, but that’s what I saw off-​hand.

5 stars and LOVE cannot come close to how I feel about this store. If you are into unique finds, extraordinary and breathtaking «I’ll LOVE it FOREVER!!» kind of gifts — this is the place to go. I’m afraid Unilocal will cut me off before I completely write everything awesome about Red Pineapple — there’s just so much to be said about this place.
Let me start by saying this, I knew there was something kin-​like that I loved about this place. Maybe it was the bag of Guam Chamorro Chip Cookies I saw years ago on a table. I thought, «strange, this feels so out of place with all the other items. Guam? really?» Turns out, the owner Nalani McLoughlin is from Guam! I didn’t know her then and I do not have a personal relationship with her other than we are from the same tiny island AND we both went to the same high school (go COUGARS! hmmm yeah, little did the nuns know that we would grow up to be such amazing COUGAR women). Red Pineapple had me at cookies!
Red Pineapple has moved one spot over from it’s original location and thankfully, this space is much bigger to house all the good stuff (OMG…I’m gonna have to write a sequel. I’m going to run out of word count).

Unique and truly adorable BABY ITEMS here! From tye-​dye onesies, locally made TEE-​PEE playhouses or reading nooks, locally made BABY BLANKETS (you’ve gotta see this to appreciate it — so awesome that they now have an ADULT blanket as well), locally made Hiilani baby items (burping clothes and swaddling blankets), the cutest NURSING APRONS in delectable designs to LOLLICUP sippy cups and the prettiest or handsome-​est bibs! This is NOT a babies R Us type baby finds. If there was ever a time to have a baby or be with a baby — the time is now because with items such as these, your baby will be the trendiest, cutest and most adorably loved poster child of chic!
STATIONERY & CARDS: Tons of unique handmade cards and notecards as well as journals to help chronicle random ideas, thoughts or images. It’s a journalist-​wanna-​be most favorite thing. From whimsy and funny to inspiring and giggly, there are so many things here that would inspire even the writing naysayers to journal.
CUSTOM GIFT PACKS: Send your boyfriend /​brother /​father /​hubby here if they are at a loss for ideas of what to get the woman in their life. Give Nalani and her team an idea of what you think they’d like and a price point and she will make you a superstar because no doubt, whatever is in that basket — your loved one will think the world of you. No lie, your gift recipient will think you walk on water.
So many other items at Red Pineapple that makes this one of my go-​to places whenever I’m in town. Nalani is down to earth, easy and so very helpful — completely not «stalkerazzi» in her salesmanship style. Red Pineapple is so beautifully sales-​scaped that not one area of the store is bare but it’s not cluttered and frenzy. Everything is put together just right.
I die just a little whenever I come here because there’s just so many things my heart desires from here but my hoarder-​like tendencies must be kept at bay in fear of being featured on that show. I have an adopted kinship with Red Pineapple that defines my eclectic and quirky being. I.just.love.this.store. The beautiful mess of ideas in my head just exploded at Red Pineapple.

Red Pineapple is more than just a gorgeous gift store with amazing staff!
I needed a gift basket for family holidaying in Honolulu, I saw Unilocal reviews for Red Pineapple — and saw that others had used then for a gift basket service.
My niece was turning 23 and I just couldn’t fathom sending her a pineapple and some cookies. So after doing some reading on Unilocal — I can totally agree with the others that this is the best little boutique in Hawaii.
I went through the store photos on Facebook and their website (
) and figured out roughly what my niece would like. I contacted Nalani — and she basically waved her magic wand and made it happen!
(I’m sure the wand waving from my point of view was more like frantic running around from her point of view)
I asked for the basket to be delivered to the hotel directly — all taken care of and my niece absolutely loved it.
The cute (and some crass) items made the whole family laugh and made me «Aunty of the Year».
I can’t thank Nalani enough — so easy to deal with — an amazing service for those of us that don’t just want to send the ftd flowers in a box.
Simply put — I wish I knew more people in Honolulu so I could frequent red pineapple more often!

Super cute shop. I stopped by here to track down adobolobo (locally made hot sauce). The shop offers other products and goods locally made in Hawaii — but also from elsewhere. Though I went specifically in search of the hot sauce, I could not resist browsing the other wares while waiting for my dinner meetup. I’ll have to remember to stop by here to stock on some great gifts for family and friends. The woman running the shop that day was super nice, friendly, and helpful!

Amazingly ADORABLE store. If you’re looking for a one of a kind gift for any type of occasion, this is your stop.
Whenever I come into this store, Kelly Clarkson’s «Beautiful Disaster» comes to mind. While others might think that this place is cluttered and needs a good reorg… I LOVE how this store gives you the opportunity to explore – you never know what you’ll find in here when you visit! There’s just so many cute things and no matter how many times you make a round in this tiny store, you’ll always discover something new each time. I’m pretty sure my Mom and I spent a good hour and a half once… but we left with many treasures! :)
The things you can purchase here vary from practical items to fun and frivolous items. But the products that are in the store are always unique and I can’t think of other places that would offer some of these. For example, yesterday I was SO tempted to purchase these large wooden block stamps, made in India! I mean really? Where else can you find things like that…
This store is also locally run by a very sweet lady. She always seems to be on the go: in her store helping customers, making/​taking orders via her phone, going on buying trips (see her Facebook page for merch updates!)…it’s pretty amazing. Support a local business and stop by! I’m sure RP will leave you wanting to come back to hunt for more treasures that you can call your own.

I LOVE the randomness of the store. I LOVE that despite the size of the shop I can wonder for a while, a long while, just looking at every little thing to the point I will pick up each thing and inspect it. Just because I am in awe of everything.
I like the owner, she is super kind. In fact I haven’t seen her the last few times I went to this store and hope she is okay. Her employees are nice, but I prefer shopping here when the owner is present. Just because she is not constantly checking in with you to the point of being overbearing and pushing. She is one with the store. In a zen like state.
I LOVE this store because not only do I find cool things here for myself, it’s where I go to find cool one of a kind stuff for friends on special occasions.
