Platinum Lounge

It is now named Platnium it looks better than it did as Reno’s but everything is still the same.

It’s a small bar nestled in Kalihi in the little shopping center next to the Blazin Steaks. My Husbands relatives own the bar. He says they used to come alot, but we asked the bouncer and he says they hardly come by to check it out now. They have darts to play in the back room. I like the small atmosphere as well as their small but tasty menu. I find it kind of weird that they need a bouncer, because I’m only familiar with bouncers at strip clubs. This is an okay bar, they have Karaōke, darts, and food. Also, they have really pretty hostesses/​bartenders. The girls are really pretty and dolled up. There were about 4 girls when we went in on a Friday night around 12AM.

it was a saturday night after the ufc fights and we were given the 2 bar option, we ended up choosing club reno because we were told there were good drink specials and i’ve never been there before.
upon entering this joint there were only 3 people in there and we immediately thought all was lost. (time 8:30pm). the bartender told us not to worry and within a half hour things would change trust him! so we did keeping an open mind. sure enough on the half hour we decided to hang out because he didn’t let us down.
i wont go into specifics but i will say that the pupu’s started rollin in for free!, BECK’s beer was on special for 2.25, and the karaōke was 1.00 per song and the hostesses were hella cool! (not the pressuring type you’ll find at korean bars.)
things were moving into a fun direction so i ended up calling more friends and we pretty much took up half of the bar through the night. All in all i will have to say that although this bar is deep in kalihi territory and to some snobs they would consider this place a dive bar, i did not in any way feel threatened and intimidated in any way with the regulars that were there.
although i wont make this bar my weekly watering hole, i will say that i would stop by again if i am in the neighborhood.
