My mom and I were walking down the street, famished and looking for somewhere good to eat at! So we happened upon this WONDERFUL restaurant! We walked in and ordered and we were served right away. The food was delish.

When I first moved to Hawaii, I was excited to find a phở place so close to my new apartment! Couldn’t wait to taste a bit of my California home when I get homesick. Unfortunately, the broth is not as savory as its California counterparts. There was a touch of sweetness that threw my taste buds off. I think I cried on the inside knowing that I wouldn’t get a taste of home when I would need it most. Noodles were fine. Veggies to boot! Space is small, but the ladies make the best of the space.

Came here for dinner(they are open till 10pm). Pretty huge portions and decent prices(everything is between $ 8-$ 12). I loved the spring rolls, so crispy and they come with lettuce, pickled carrot, rice noodles, basil and cucumber. The stuffed fried chicken was also very yummy(better than phuket thai). They have a pretty large selection, from phở to rice noodle dishes to rice dishes to curries, everything sounded pretty good. The phở and rice noodle dishes are very large in portion(you can probably share an app and an entrée between two people). Beware, the curry does not come with rice. p. s. It is now called Phở Kapahulu. :)

This restaurant is great it was one of few phở restaurants open early to cure my patron hangover. I had phở with rare steak, tripe and flank the soup was tasty and came just the right temperature. And remained hot even after the veggies were put in. Our waitress was. very very attentive and friendly :) I would come here again

I love this place. It’s in walking distance from my apartment and the price here is very reasonable(especially being in town) The servings are huge and i love everything about their phở. I’m Vietnamese and I’m a bit picky about my phở and this place definitely hits the spot!!! Last but not least, the owner there is such a sweet lady. Everytime my friends & I dine here, she never fails to make me laugh.

on a recent trip to oahu we were driving and we saw this place and decided to go since we were all craving phở. we were the only people in the restaurant and now i know why. the place is very small and the service was good with a very friendly old lady taking our order. but for me even with great service if the food is bad then i consider the resturaunt to be bad. the phở was very hard and the soup was just ok. i always order phở tai and usually when i order it the meat is at lest half raw. here the meat was almost over cooked which made it very rubbery. if you are craving good phở this is not the place.

First impressions sets the tone of the whole meal. We were the first to arrive and order from the restaurant but the last to get served. We ordered phở, cold noodles and a sandwich. Waitress gave us some lame excuse that the sandwich took a long time to make. The broth for the phở was too salty. I asked for empty bowls but 2 out of 3 were dirty. We didn’t receive fish sauce for our cold noodle. We’ve been to many vietnamese restaurants and most of them are either average or below. This one was below average. On top of that, when I went to the bathroom, I found a small piece of sh*t stuck on the toilet seat cover. Needless to say, we didn’t leave a tip.

These people are so cute. Definitely a Ma and Pa shop… The daughter hangs out there and studies but she never bothers you. The broth is good and the rolls aren’t bad. I’ve had better but since it’s so close by and second in preference when i’m strapped on time I go here. Only problem is… NOPARKING! The staff is friendly and remembered me all 3 times. I like that. Makes me feel special

Phở is decent, and the service is excellent. The only thing is that parking is hard to find on Kapahulu… Nice family owned cozy place. The lady behind the register is so sweet.

I live off Kapahulu and Phở Pearl is another one of my old standbys. every time ive have gone to Pearl(alot) i was always greeted with a smile and my food was delievered with excellence. the herbs and bean sprouts are always fresh and the servings are plenty. in my opinion it is the best Phở restaurant I have ever eaten at. OUT!

My wife and I had a rare opportunity to have lunch together and we told Mrs. Tran about how nice we can share this time at my favorite place. We ordered our usual Phở with ice coffee. After our meal I always end my lunch with ice coffee and my wife ordered one for herself. As we enjoyed the perfect drink my wife noticed something about the ice cubes. «Did you notice the ice cubes?» I looked and they were shaped hearts. I was very touched and understood the meaning of this thoughtful gesture. I made sure I told Mrs. Tran and she thought it was a SPECIALDAY for us. I would like to express my thank you to Mrs. Tran for the special moment at Phở Pearl.

I concur on the cuteness. This is such a great little place. Family-owned. Goodness all around. There were 4 of us all together so we got an order of spring rolls before the phở. The spring rolls were crispy and good. The owner even gave us two separate dipping dishes(there were two couples) so we didn’t have to worry too much about double-dipping. ;-) That was super thoughtful. I ordered Phở(#7). The broth was fragrant and there was ALOT of noodle and beef. They also provided lots of extras and told us to let them know if we needed more. I’m not a phở expert, but I definitely like to eat and it seemed like this bowl was never-ending and tasted really good. The service here is a little slow, but then again, so is the service nearly everywhere in Hawaii. The husband-wife team are working together to take care of the customers and if too many people come at once later in the evening I think they get a little overwhelmed… but, the atmosphere is alright for waiting and they respond quickly if you ask them for specific things, so I’ll definitely be back. A note on parking: street parking is pretty much non-existent around this place, so just go to the Safeway parking lot and find one of those 2-hour slots and walk down the block.

this place is so cute. It’s totally a mom + pop owned place(their cute little girl is also in the restaurant a lot(her baby photo is by the register). we got phở…(1 #71#9) and a fruit smoothie… fresh fruit smoothie, yum. the service is super friendly, the broth tastes so good… and they put SOMUCH noodle + beef in the bowl. Plus, overflowing plates of sides. they are right next to the trendy looking sushi restaurant(i have yet to try) right by the new safeway. On the other side of the street is a newer looking phở place and a pizza hut. All the food places in the safeway shopping center… to be frank, suck. But the places around the shopping center are little gems. Visit this little gem for a quick, delicious, and pretty cheap bowl of msg free phở.
