History

Established in 1984.

John H. Yamamoto, BCE, MBA, established PEMCO Limited in 1984 with an engineering background. When the company started, it serviced construction development projects totaling over $ 400 million and performed more than 300 engineering studies and forensic investigations.

In 1990, PEMCO Limited expanded its services to include facilities maintenance, base operations support services, and environmental engineering servicing private clients and a number of multi — year contracts with the DOD.

Since 1996, PEMCO Limited has served as a real estate asset manager for HUD, providing real estate marketing, management, and property maintenance services. By 2010, PEMCO Limited had expanded its locations to include California, Colorado, Hawaii, and Georgia and opened a traditional real estate brokerage, PEMCO Realty.

To this day, PEMCO Limited applies the same entrepreneurial spirit that spurred its founder to open the company’s door three decades ago.

Business Owner

John Yamamoto holds a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and a Master of Business Administration and has completed management and real estate strategy programs at Harvard University. He is a registered professional engineer holding an RME contractor’s license and a Real Estate Brokers license with over 40 years of experience in real estate, engineering and construction industries. Mr. Yamamoto possesses several accolades, including an Ernst & Young as Entrepreneur of the Year nomination.

Before founding PEMCO Limited, John managed technical services companies in senior corporate management and project management positions. He is responsible for PEMCO Limited’s recognition by Hawaii Business News, U.S. Small Business Administration, and the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation. Mr. Yamamoto’s 30 years of leadership has established PEMCO Limited as a preferred partner in various disciplines of private and government contracting and real estate asset management.
