Not bad but I was charged .25 for a pint size container!!! Really?! After spending over $ 25! Ok got that out of my system. The food actually isn’t too bad. If you read most of my blogs I have a soft heart for service but not in this case! Sorry I did it again. Back to the food, we had the combo plate, soon dubu soup and the mandoo soup. All were pretty good for a food court type of setting. My wife enjoyed the kalbi which was a generous portion for a combo with three of them and one barbecue chicken.

Good affordable Korean food. Pretty authentic too. I think most meals are about $ 7 or $ 8. Lots of seating available and pretty relaxing. I tried a whole bunch of different plates but my favorite is the yukejang. I know I spelt it wrong but if you tell the cashier this you will get what I’m talking about. A spicy beef and vegetable soup.

The food was much better when they first opened up. It was run by a different restaurant. Now it is run by Palama Supermarket. Everything has gone down hill. Taste of food, service, food portions. Chicken katsu tasted premade, like they fry it ahead of time & then just reheat it when you order. BBQ chicken is tasteless & banchan is horrible. Service is junk too. No sense call in your order. They still won’t have it ready when you go to pick up. I wish the other establishment was still there.

Caught up with an old acquaintance the other day — the«Spicy Squid» plate at the hot food concession in Palama Supermarket. I’d have it maybe once a week when Palama Supermarket was on Dillingham Boulevard so was quite acquainted with it. Now, for $ 7.50 you get a goodly portion of squid legs and pieces stir fried with long slices of green and red peppers, zucchini, carrot, and onions in a sweet, thick chili pepper sauce(kochujang?) + rice + 3 kinds of banchan. Still tasty, but I seem to remember it was even tastier when that small Filipino lady used to make it for me before. And cheaper too. She’s no longer there, and the recipe has definitely changed. Even old acquaintances — things and people — change, but more so nowadays it seems. As Uncle Bob said, «Come writers and critics Who prophesize with your pen And keep your eyes wide The chance won’t come again… For the times they are a-changin’.»

Wow … after a year this got things right and is on par with the town location. Their best dish is the soft tofu stew and their sides are generous along with two scoops of rice. Note they offer 5 free mandoos after 5 pm for each order. Prices are very affordable and portions are generous.

I’ve ordered from their takeout menu since they opened at this location and the food has been very tasty. I noticed a change in their menu today when I spotted the Hwe Dae Bap and Mul naengmyun. Turns out they’re under new management… but don’t worry… the good old standby dishes like the Kalbi plate, BBQ chicken, and Spicy pork are still there! There wasn’t much available on grab and go goodies at the counter, but that’s okay. Looks like they are working out the kinks since it’s kinda a first day for them! Check’em out!

I eat here about three times a week(I work near by) the ladies are nice and the service is fast considering what they are serving. I love the soft tofu soup and the spicy squid! Not much sides but I’m ok with that. They have a table in front that has grab and go items that is good and easy if your in a rush.

Bring back the team of Korean and Filipino ladies who cooked at the Dillingham Snack Corner!!! Was advised the cooks here now are primarily men. The spicy BBQ pork was so disappointing. It was somewhat on the dry side and the portions shrank considerably. Not to mention, the price is now $ 8 when it was previously $ 6. Quality of food and portions went down and prices went up. Noticed the prices of the other plates sky rocketed as well!!! Not eager to come back to eat at this place unless you bring back those ladies who ROCKED at the Dillingham location.
