Paul is the man. One Wave is one of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Paul’s patience and his expertise truly make the process go smoothly. I’m so grateful to have found Paul and his company One Wave Designs. I wanted to start a new business, but had no experience on how to get customers. Out of the four companies we’ve tried to work with, ‘One Wave Designs’ was BY FAR the best value. We first worked with another company, ‘OrangeRoc’, who charged us triple what Paul did and literally delivered a quarter, and with an aggressive attitude. That’s a 12X value with Paul in my eyes. It was important to have a balance between professional and casual, and it couldn’t look ‘cookie-​cutter’ or like every other health and wellness site out there. He infused my ideas with all the stuff that provides a functional backbone to a website and allows it to serve as your virtual store front (very important that it has functionality behind the scenes, not every web designer cares to put extra work into this aspect of development). If I didn’t like something, he’d modify it. We checked functionality on all devices very thoroughly and he tweaked all custom coding as needed for the site to have flawless presentation across all devices on all browsers. I don’t know what happened to Biny C. down below, but Paul’s professionalism and promptness with requests are what impressed me most about his service. There’s no doubt, based on all the wonderful reviews, Paul’s one of the best web designers in Hawaii, given his experience, creativity, and passion for his craft. So, I’ve called Paul from One wave Design for an initial consult and it went well. He seemed like he knew what he was doing, and pretty confident. I checked his portfolios, and they looked pretty neat to me. But I don’t feel like he is professional, efficient or reliable.
After the first consult over the phone, Paul asked me to e mail him with some more details so that he can quote me a price. I sent the e mail right away, but a week later I stilll didn’t get any feed back, so I called to follow up, but there was no one picking up, so I left a message. Still, after the voice message, I never heard anything back from him. Then two days ago (After total of 3 weeks since I first talked to him), I received an e mail from him saying «Have you been getting my e mails?»… I mean… I don’t know. There could have been many ways he can contact me even if his e mails didn’t go through.
If you are looking for someone who is efficient and reliable, I don’t think One Wave is the way to go. I’ve seen so many good ratings on Unilocal about him, but it is disappointing that my experience wasn’t like the positive ratings. He could be great in what he does, but if it is so hard to reach him or communicate, I rather have someone with less skills but easy to communicate and more professional. It is all about how reliable a person is when doing business.
PS: i thought I should be fair, so after looking at Paul’s comment below regarding my post, I have checked all of my e mail boxes including spam box, but I do not find any e mails from Paul.

The non-​profit I currently worked for recently hired me mainly to work on their website, which was completely out of date and hardly visited. I had some new ideas for the site and Paul at One Wave Designs was really great in getting my ideas laid out and created into the brand new website we currently have up and running!
He really understood the functionality I wanted to add to the site and did a great job of keeping in theme with our old website but bringing it into the modern internet world. Not being as HTML savy as I’d like, I am very glad that I decided to give One Wave Designs a call! The new CMS they used to build the site as well as the service has been amazing up until this point, a little over a month after the site has been ready to go live!

I’ve been wanting to create a professional website for my small business for a while now. A little research on
led me to One Wave Designs. When I called them, I got a good feeling based on the initial conversation which led me to commit with them to design my website.

I found Paul and One Wave Design a couple of years ago on Craigslist, and have been very pleased with everything since. He designed my website, had excellent ideas and advice and has responded to questions, problems, changes since. I needed someone to do some overall web maintenance, and to oversee my website and keep it up and going. After meeting with Paul for an hour, I realized he is the ‘Web Guru’!!
