What a fun & enjoyable evening at Fresh Café! The food was amazing! Grandma’s Homemade Corn Chowder is yummy; the Kalua Pork Nachos with homemade guacamole is heaping with yummy extras; the garlic infused chicken… My mouth & tummy are STILL satisfied! And the service is warm & welcoming! To top it all off, we enjoyed the FANTASTIC talent of local favorite Mike Izon( ). Can’t wait to go back!

Relatively small. I think they still need a build a little more momentum. Nevertheless it is nice to support local businesses. You should check it out.

Not the best, not the worst, but gets the job done. Nu’uanu Farmers Market is a «garden variety» neighborhood market that includes a handful of vendors: an agricultural booth, a flower grower, a fishmonger, a hot food vendor(a creperie), a baker, and a massage therapist offering chair massages. While it is quite small, the market offers people the chance to purchase fresh, local food from local people in a convenient setting – not only is it accessible to people living in the immediate neighborhood, but it’s right on the way home for Windward people working in town. The vendors seem friendly, too. Nu’uanu Farmers Market meets Tuesdays 4:30 — 7:30pm at the Central Seventh Day Adventist Church on the Koko Head side of Nu’uanu a half block makai of Wyllie St. Unilocal 365 Challenge #102/365

The Nuuanu farmers market is extremely tiny. So tiny that I gasped in shock at exactly how tiny it was. It reminded me of an experience with a male friend who no longer speaks to me… Despite the presence of maybe only 8 tents, we disembarked our vehicle and went in search of a reason this market would continue to exist. We found reasons in the form of tasty okazu from Ebisu-ish, to die for macadamia peanut butter from Aloha Coconut, magical green and yellow tomatoes from the solitary produce booth, and fat cinnamon rolls for the children from that booth full of cinnamon rolls. If you’ve ever seen them at a farmers market, you know of whom I speak. And you would refer to them in the same eloquent manner. Since our first visit we have returned every week for romaine and tomatoes, a roll, and nishime though one week Ebisu-ish was not present and I experienced crippling disappointment. If you live in the Nuuanu area, please visit this market which also has dinner plates, crepes, smoothies, and fresh flowers. I would very much like for this market to continue. Thank you!

It’s neither the biggest nor the best game in town, but still rocks my socks off. Ok, I’ve been here one time only, but this teeny market gets one star for being right on my way home to the windward side, one star for some super sweet vendors, and 20 stars for that A-MAZING chocolate chip cinnamon-type-roll-thing I jammed down my throat while I was perusing the produce and flowers. I’d go back and wait in line just to taste that sweet goodness one more time. Can you see the afterglow on my face? Yep, that’s from the roll. I’d love to see this market get bigger, with a few more produce vendors so there’s some more competition for prices — great variety of ready-to-consume eats though, and the perfect place to stop for a quick n cheap din on the way home. Can’t even say that I’ve tasted but more than 2 vendor’s food. But every single booth is filled with the freshest produce, food and flowers AND the kindest, sweetest, most cheerful vendors you will ever hope to meet. I for one enjoy the fact that it’s right across from my house and it’s my quick stop from work and an easy Tuesday dinner, before I go home. A word for the honey vendor. Don’t give up. Your artisan products may be a little pricy but during the holidays, you’re handcrafted products will make fine gifts! Also if not already there, may I recommend that you sell them at the Queen Emma Summer Palace gift shop, for your locally made jams and jellies would delight visitors, I am certain! I wish all the vendors the best because they are trying their darndest to get a foothold in our community. We’ve needed a Farmer’s Market in our area for a loooong time! It’s not easy starting up new business. 10% luck and 1000% sweat equity. Gotta admire. And I hope that the businesses grow! My compliments, my positive encouragement, my patronage! Note: Uku planny parking… for now! Ono seekers out there, if you go there once, you’ll return again. Please do kokua. You’ll be doing your opu a favor!
