This location is moving soon. So before they move I would like to give Nordstrom Honolulu their overdue review. Consistent service is what impresses me. They are always friendly, personable, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They make Macy’s feel like a hellish experience. And makes you wonder if it’s worth spending so much more at Neiman Marcus. Besides purchases, they’ve made returning and repairing so easy. Speaking of repairing they’ve accomplished some of the most daunting alterations I’ve needed… For free. Their finance department is also wonderful. Café is up to par though pricier coffee selection, but restaurant is spacious and food reasonably priced. Last thing to mention is there clean, open space, baby friendly bathrooms. So many nice things to say. 10 out of 10. Hope the new location will be the same or exceed this one.

I visited the men’s clothing section earlier this evening. I was impressed with the service and courtesy of the staff. Tyler helped me with sizing and selection of goods and I ended up buying 4 pairs of business trousers. Luckily they were on sale! Well done Nordstrom with your knowledgable and friendly staff. Thanks Tyler.

This review is for the ebar on the third floor. I’ve been frequenting this ebar so much during my lunch breaks that they remember my usual drink. Everyone else is friendly too. I come here for my lunch breaks because it’s the fastest place and freshly made compared to starbucks and their inevitable lines and lack of choices.

I have to say with as often as I frequent this Nordstrom location, today’s customer service was above and beyond so much so to be worth the time to finally do a review. I would give them a billion stars if I could they are just that awesome.
my story:
Procrastinating like my normal self to the end of the year — New Year’s eve to use my personal triple points day, I stopped in the store to brows around for things I wanted to get. After trying on a few items in TBD and Individualists, scoping out the cosmetics section, I then returned home a little before noon. I did the usual fatwallet & ebates website click throughs to the
website then selected my items for purchase online for in-​store pickup to get the added cashback through fatwallet/​ebates. I waited until a little before 5pm to go back to the store to see if my online pickup order was ready, before going to get dinner with my mom for new years eve.
Spent a little more time in the BP section, then the shoes, then the Chanel cosmetics counter before we heard the store do an announcement that they would be closing at 6pm. We hurried to complete our final transactions then went up to see what was going on with the online order for pickup. There was some confusion with the inventory, but I managed to identify my items and complete the last transaction & claim my final triple points for the year.
In returning home after dinner, I was about to take of my earrings then noticed my right one was gone! OH NO!!! My new earrings that I had just purchased elsewhere less than a week ago dang it! I quickly called the store and got the machine giving the store hours. I went back to the restaurant to look, but not luck. Searched my car etc. backtracked all my steps in the last 2 hours. No luck. I went back to Nordstrom New Years day and started to try to look, but again… no luck. They said cleaning people come in each morning before opening so they will check with them. The sales girls took down my name and number and took a picture of the other earring.
Approx 10:30, a mere hour after they opened, I get a call back– the good news is that they found it, the bad news is that they found the two pieces of it it in the vacuum. I am so beyond happy — I went to get back to get it right away. Luckily its still in good shape and I can just replace the ear wire part! The fact that they actually went through the vacuum to find my earring and to give it back to me is above and beyond any sort of service I could have expected. For years they have provided me great assistance, quality products, and quite possibly the best return policy ever, but this service today just takes the cake.
I love you guys. Nordstrom Ala Moana staff you are the best! Happy New Year 2016!

Great customer service and the store doesn’t look like a hot mess. Can I live here?!

Nordstrom, or Nordy’s for short, oozes superb customer service — no question about it! Staff is incredibly well-​trained and aim to please. Have not had a bad experience here. The sales representatives try to help you with finding merchandise, so you’re not on your own (unlike department stores).)
The Customer Service Representatives (by phone) are most accommodating as well. I like that you know you’re speaking with CSRs in the U.S. and not face any communication barriers.
There’s Nordstrom’s Café on street level which is convenient when you want to grab a quick bite to eat — a great alternative to the Food Court. There’s coffee bars on mall and 3d level and a gelato bar on mall level.
The Ala Moana store will be moving to the Ewa end of the mall next year, so more Nordy’s excitement to follow.

Not one of my favorite Nordstroms but as a Nordstrom shopper I had to come see it.
Located inside the Moana Center it is a bit confusing to get to at least for me. Very helpful employees or is it just that Hawaiian vibe.

Nordstrom is my go to place for all of my fashion needs. I am Nordstrom credit card holder, so it’s no surprise that I am in there every time I am at Ala Moana shopping center. My favorite departments/​brands in Nordstrom include: Free People, Top Shop, bp, shoes, and handbags! Everyone is always very helpful in asking what I am shopping for and finding a way to get to product to me. Some sales associates even go online to order me items that are not available in store and this is a great option because of free shipping! I’ve never had any hassles with Nordstrom and there’s a reason why they are known for their customer service. I recommend all you Nordstrom lovers to get a credit card and earn those points for Nordstrom Notes (gift certificates) for spending a certain amount of money with the points you rack up!
Also, don’t forget to check out their café located on the first floor. Their tomato soup is to die for!

Nordstrom is probably one of my favorite department stores here on the island. The location at Ala Moana is prime and their parking structure has ample parking. Their store is huge, clean and super classy! With 3 levels, you can find the men’s (clothing, shoes and accessories), active wear and kid’s department on the bottom floor, along with their Nordstrom Café. On the second floor, you can find the junior’s, women’s shoes, cosmetics, jewelry and bag department. And on the top floor, that’s where you can find the more fancier and high-​end designer clothing for those extravagant special occasions.
I’m not a ballah when it comes to shopping, so I always appreciate when I can find things in my price range. And always be on the lookout for their Anniversary and/​or Year End Sales because savings on all their items are huge!
And I can’t rave enough about their customer service here, especially the workers in the men’s department! Not only are they super friendly and helpful, but they really go out of their way to make sure you leave satisfied. When my boyfriend was shopping for a new wallet, the lady (sorry I wish I remembered her name) who helped us was very knowledgeable about each and every product she showed us and was always so kind to answer all our questions we had. She was very patient as we discussed which wallet we liked best and as soon as we were ready, she was quick to help us check-​out. Also, if you’re shopping for a gift for someone, they can nicely wrap it up for you :)
In some occasions where you leave satisfied, but later come to realize you’re not that much in love with the product you bought, Nordstrom has a no hassle return policy, even if you don’t have a receipt for it.

With all the changes that are happening, I have to say that I am still a Nordie-​holic. Yes, I miss some of my salespersons/​friends who will now be working at «the other store that must not be named». At first, it felt weird not seeing some of the usual people who help me, BUT… the staff that are still at Nordie’s are the best! From my all-​around «go-​to» salesperson, Julie (Lancome)… to Tennile, Maribel, Olga, Pua, Kaliko, Monica, Tresslyn, Jasmine, Jeb, Teri, Kanoe, Chastine, Kris, Izra, Cindy and Serena… I can always count on them for excellent customer service and advice!
Recently, I had an event for some survivors of breast cancer. These Nordstrom people went WAAAAY above and beyond to help, by way of providing some samples for the survivors. Their samples put so many smiles on these ladies who are most oftentimes not in the best frame of mind. While a little sample may seem like such a small thing, to someone who is going through the fight of her life, it means a lot! One lady remarked, «This is so unbelievably nice of them! I never went to Nordstrom before, but I’m going now! I feel like it’s Christmas!»
I also have to mention that Ana (lingerie) came to that event — on her day off! Ana talked about the prosthesis program that Nordie’s offers, and she even brought samples for the ladies to look at. She was so knowledgeable, approachable… and so comforting! The nurses who were at that event were so impressed by Nordie’s prosthesis program, that they are going to promote the heck out of it! Just as a note: To our pleasant surprise, Ana even brought poi donuts from Kam Bakery. She told us that it was from Brian, Nordstrom’s store manager! How thoughtful was that?!
Nordstrom, you’ve got some pretty awesome employees! Thank you!

OMG! I usually buy my Laura Mercier products here and I developed a nice relationship with one of the cosmetic sales person. All of the sales people in the cosmetic section are very friendly. Of course right? Anyway, my go to girl no longer works at Norstroms. She was great. I hear she went to the new upscale department store at the end of the mall where Sears used to be.

I can’t even believe how much has this place gone to hell. Three times now, no one acknowledged my existence. No eye contact, no greeting, nothing. And I mean the store is pretty much empty/​dead?
And then, the last time I was there I was looking for some makeup product, and some big black lady was extremely obnoxious and rude, acting as if she didn’t want to be there or she was above me or something.
She said that they didn’t have the product in store, so I asked her if I could order it online. She pretty much interrupted me and walked away!!! I thought she went to call someone, but 30++ min laster I realized, she just walked away: AWFUL-​AWFUL SERVICE!
This entire place just lacks in basic manners.
I do NOT recommend this place to anyone, unless of course, you need to use the bathroom. The bathrooms are nice…

I originally wrote a poor review for the jewelry department but it turns out they did try to contact us by email. I didn’t change my rating though because I still feel that the communication could have been a lot better.
It all started when we were looking for a new setting for my engagement ring and Annett helped us. She was so kind and helpful and was very keen to accommodate me in what I was looking for. She spoke of her designers as though they could perform miracles and that gets one excited! I showed her what I was looking for, she got our information and said she would be in touch within a few days to let us know how much it would cost. We never saw the email but we know she did try. In the meantime, we went elsewhere. A bit unfortunate but I will say, if a person really wants to make a sale, they should stay on it. I did not see the first email (my bad) but the next one came over a week later with a phone call. I have never heard of a salesperson that was too shy to pick up the phone and communicate. Apparently, the designer was out of town and later, Annett went out of town. And I went somewhere else to buy my ring.

I’ve always been a Nordy girl. I love the special sales and pre-​sale events. However, in the last 8 – 12 months, I feel like there is a shortage of good products on the sales floor. I can’t count how many times an associate had to order items to my local store or home because things are never in stock. There are very limited color-​ways when it comes to shoes and bags, among other things. How disappointing! The second floor seems to be the emptiest. The only thing making me come back time and time again is their amazing return policy, free shipping/​ship to store or home option, double/​triple point days (that equal more Nordstrom Notes).
Tip: I normally find what I want and order it online going through Ebates. I get cash back that way from them and still earn Nordstrom points and notes. Shipping is usually a quick and painless process, too.

One of the anchor stores in Ala Moana shopping mall. Always great customer service and good mid to high end selection. You can find some warmer weather clothes that you may need for your visit.

Great layout of merchandise, wide aisles and competent sales personnel. Very pleasant shopping experience.

Excellent service here at Nordstrom! I came in for shoes and it so happened they were having an awesome sale. So I scooped up a great pair of running shoes with the help of Kawika. Both at amazingly low prices! He also showed me the cutest pair of Tory Burch sandals that were on sale too and I had to nab them. Despite the circus my chaotic little toddler put on, running through the store and screaming his head off, I still was treated with dignity and respect by Kawika, who assisted me as quickly and diligently as possible. I even was able to qualify for the Nordstrom visa signature card, which enabled me the best perks to shopping at Nordstrom plus I can use it anywhere. Needless to say I’ll be back soon! Mahalo!

I looooovveee Nordstrom! They is always something you can find and the people are very helpful and sweet, which is hard to find when you shop at a high end department store. Last week was their trend show which was amazing. To get I you had to buy a 20 dollar gift card that acted as your ticket! We got to try and sample products. While I was there I got a free facial, make-​over, and got my nails done. It was a great way to sample new products you might of been to afraid to try, we also got goodies while we walked about and learned about the different products.
Nordstrom also has a high end café that serves alcohol which is an automatic win for me! They have large selection of food and drinks. If you feel like you just want a sweet treat they have that too. I went in to buy shoes today and the guy helping me was sweet and attentive. The only part that might be tricky is parking. But it’s always crazy but you can enter the store from multiple entries.

LOL Funny this is the first time I felt actually compelled to write a review on a department store. And as much as I frequent Nordstrom’s on the mainland I never felt compelled to give my opinion because I receive nothing but excellent service.
So lets start like this– This review would be so much higher if it was not for two things.
1. The conceited young Asian female working in the shoe department TODAY. (Very haughty and very dismissive in her attitude towards me.) The cavalier attitude should be put in check. You NEVER know who someone may be, or who they may KNOW.
2. The different men who worked in the shoe department that continually asked all the women around me if they needed help but did not ask me.
OBVIOUSLY you people don’t know your shoes. Yes, I was in running shoes. But guess what? They are a $ 130 pair of running shoes. Yes, I was in yoga pants (I was trying to get a walk in over to Ala Moana mall from Waikiki — so sue me.)
What was appalling is that even though I was neatly dressed, wearing expensive running shoes that were in excellent shape, and had my hair pulled back in a low pony tail, no one wanted to help me in the shoe department. When I first got there, I had one woman hand me over to one man, who thought I was someone else’s client, to another woman (the snotty one mentioned above) back to the other guy. SERIOUSLY folks? Could your shoe department get it together??? I’m from Northern Virginia. We have LOTS of Nordstroms and they are ALL consistently great. Customer service in this shoe department? SERIOUSLY lacking. No real true sense of customer service as they were willing to judge by appearances and not happy to help any and everyone.
That aside, I was going to walk out and not buy anything from them, BUT they did have the pair of Toms I wanted in my size so I just bought that. And even though I’m a shoeaholic as my friends and husband can atest, I refrained from purchasing anything more.
I did not give your store 1 star based on the shoe experience. But put it to a 3 because your other departments SAVED your hide in customer service. Cosmetics (at the Lancome counter was 5 stars) Julie Darrell was the sweetest person ever. And the customer service rep near the purse department was very helpful as well. I’d say they have an overall decent establishment. They just seriously need some customer service training as its lacking overall.

I don’t usually go for the crazy shopping, but yesterday I headed off to Ala Moana to see what’s there for my kids…
I ended up in the shoe department and had the great fortune of having the best salesperson, Jonathan Ching. He was knowledgeable, patient and took the time to find me the best deal that Nordstrom has to offer. Love when a salesperson takes the time to get what you really need and want, rather than just trying to sell you anything.
The department was quite busy and Jonathan took the time to show me shoes that fit my criteria… he took the time to made suggestions and observations on the fit and style of the shoes.
I will definitely be looking for Jonathan in the future for all of my shoe needs… so polite and classy… Thanks Jonathan!
