One of the best loco mocos! The gravy wasn’t too thick like other places. The hamburger was perfectly seasoned and the egg was perfectly fried. It was a nice pit stop for a snack on the way to Valley of the Temples.

If you remember the old Nakai Saimin on Nuuanu and were saddened to see it close, then rejoice. They appeared as a lunch wagon! At one time on Kapahulu and then near Cooke Street. But now they’ve found a home on this corner. The homemade flatter and chewier noodles is what I remember about them both for the Saimin and they’re fried Saimin. Good stuff, like a hybrid of chow fun noodles and Saimin noodles. Call ahead for orders if you plan on going at the peak of the lunch hour. They can get pretty busy and they’re a two man shop. The fried Saimin is made to order so it comes out hot and fresh as well as some of the other menu items like the hamburgers and breakfast sandwiches.
