History
Established in 2006.
In March 1994, Lopaka Kapanui followed a friend’s recommendation and went on a ghost tour. At the time, Lopaka had no idea he was about to meet his future mentor, famed historian and author of «Obake Files» and the «Chicken Skin» ghost story series, Glen Grant.
Glen was the original creator of the «Ghosts of Old Honolulu» downtown tour setting the stage for the future of ghost tours in Hawaii. Glen was adamant about researching every story, every fact and instilled this ethic in Lopaka as well, accepting nothing less than excellence.
After Glen’s passing in 2003, Lopaka carried on the business at The Haunt and then created his own tour business, first as «Ghosts of Old Honolulu» and then «Mysteries of Honolulu.» It is through Mysteries of Honolulu that Lopaka, follows in the footsteps of his close friend & mentor and honors the man who meant so much to him.
Sharing more than just Hawaiian ghost stories, Lopaka shares his knowledge of the history and legends of Oahu and Hawaii.
