Minky Lashes

Linh was great! She explained how to care for my lashes and showed me the different options for the style and length of lashes. She’s been doing this for a long time so she really knows what she is doing.
I opted for the natural set, almond shape. Can’t wait to take photos!

So I’ve gotten my lashes done from 4 different salons. All of which were pretty okay. Never that great to write a review though.
With that being said, Linh was SO GOOD that it motivated me to write her a review.
Her place was cute and welcoming. Although, google maps kinda fails at giving accurate directions to her place. (Her location is at the opposite side of the street from where maps is taking you. Look for the red swing in front of her place.)
She is very friendly and personable.
Normally, I doze off when getting my lashes done but she & I maintained a pretty steady conversation. Which was nice!
At first I showed her a pic of another girls lashes which turned out to be more of an almond shape. She mentioned that cat eye look has a nice effect, so I got the cat eye glamour look which was a perfect choice. (I can’t remember what kind of curl I got though)
My lashes are so full yet so natural. ALL the other places I’ve been to (from town to ewa beach) all use synthetic, so it feels heavy & toward the end of my first week, they get sore. Yet, Linhs lashes feel so light… sometimes I forget I even have them on.
Unlike the other salons I’ve been to, she only uses mink lashes.
I haven’t seen any fallout & I’m going on my 4^th day, which never happened when I went elsewhere.
All in all, go see Linh. She’s the best.

Okay so this will be my third time coming back to Linh (tomorrow), or I suppose today since it’s 1:20AM. But anyways, this will be a very detailed review that holds a lot of important information — especially if you’re going to get your lashes done for the first time, or even if you are a seasoned veteran! So I definitely recommend reading the full review :-)
As you all know (my Unilocal friends and followers), I used to get my lashes done by Ooh La Lash, and I went to them for a significant amount of time — around 6 months or so, and I found that as time went by, I noticed my eyes becoming swollen and itchy. The skin on top of my lids started to flake off and I didn’t know why and neither did the technicians at Ooh la lash. I also realized that my lashes would fall out after a weeks time, and so I’d have to get a refill every 2 weeks. And even two weeks was pushing it. Seriously, my lashes would be very full and beautiful for the first couple days, then after the 5^th day, they would fall out like mad. I kept going, however, because I thought it was normal. That maybe my eyes would adjust and they wouldn’t flake or become swollen. Or that 2 weeks fill was perfectly fine and that I could continue with going every two weeks.
But I realized how OCD I am about my lashes, and I get really stressed out especially when so much of it would fall out at once. I was constantly checking on them, and everyday I woke up from sleeping, 5 – 6 lashes would be on my face or on my clothes because they fell out. Even when I brushed them, a couple would fall out!!!
Anyways, sorry for the mini rant, I realized that it wasn’t worth it anymore and I ended up taking them off and going a week without them. But I sadly missed them a lot, so I did some research in order to find a new eyelash technician.
And low and behold, I found Linh at Minky Lashes! When I came to her for the first time, I was a bit nervous as she does her work inside of her house, but it is actually very relaxing, and she’s the sweetest, cutest eyelash tech ever!
When I got there for my first time, I explained to her what was going on with my lashes (swelling, itchyness, etc.) and she listened to all of the things I had to say and took it all into consideration. She also explained the difference between REAL mink lashes, and synthetic. Ooh la lash used synthetic mink lashes, which are MUCH thicker and heavier than real mink lashes. I am asian, so I naturally have very small lashes that aren’t able to withstand the synthetic lashes because they are so thick! I honestly couldn’t believe the difference. And I also got doubles on my lashes (2 synthetic mink per lash on my eyelid) and realized why they fell out so fast. My poor little lashes can’t take that kind of weight!
Moving on from my sadness over my lashes, Linh went to work and she is quick but super efficient. I got the 3D lashes, which are 3 mink lashes per 1 of my eyelash. It seems like a lot, but I couldn’t and still can’t feel a thing! They are so light, yet so full… And they look great! I was a bit worried that they would fall out quickly (as the other synthetic did), but I was SO wrong. Seriously, my lashes look great for 3 weeks and I could probably go 4 weeks until I need a fill.
I no longer stress about my lashes, and even when I sleep, hardly any ever fall out. In fact, I RARELY ever notice my lashes falling out. I’ve been getting compliments left and right — 3 weeks later and girls still ask me about my lashes, which is an awesome feeling! I love my lashes so much now and they don’t bother my eye AT ALL. No swelling, no itchiness, no flakey skin, nada! They’re the best investment I’ve made.
Oh, and about the price, Linh charges very, VERY reasonable pricing for her work. She could easily charge as much as those «high end» places do, but she makes it so affordable for people (like me — a working student) to enjoy the finer things in life (hehe). So happy!
I’m actually getting my refill done tomorrow morning, so I’m super excited! Please, please make an appointment with Linh, she’s a life saviour and a funny, sweet, and the cutest person ever!

Linh is the best! My lashes come out so beautiful every time and I am never disappointed. It’s been 6 weeks since my last relash and I STILL have lashes. I definitely recommend her to everyone looking for beautiful lash extensions.

Their customer service is the best! I was excited to check this place out but no one picked up the phone when I called. 2 hours after I called, I get a text apologizing for missing my call and asking me what service (s) I was interested in. She answered all of my questions in a very timely manner via texts. I am so disappointed that she’s booked until November! But I will definitely try to schedule an appointment in the near future!
This is a company who knows how to treat customers and that’s all that takes to get me to come in (or to keep trying to get in).

What a great find! Unilocalers, if you’re looking for lash extensions, LOOK NO FURTHER! Thank you Unilocal and thank you Linh for my beautiful lashes! I thought I would never be able to get lash extensions again after having an allergic reaction at another salon. First of all, I’ve come to the realization that I do, in fact have a slight allergy to the glue used for the extensions. It causes me to sneeze. I only recently found this out after going to Linh for a new set to see if I would have the same reaction I did at another salon (sneezing, itchy water eyes, redness on my lids). The only reaction I have is sneezing. I never knew that extensions could be so comfortable. It feels like nothing at all. My prior extensions would poke and irritate my eyes. I thought this was normal. So, along with the sneezing, my eyes would itch and I couldn’t take it anymore. Linh explained that the poking is from the synthetic lashes that were used. Linh uses mink lashes, which are so light and natural looking. It’s so comfortable to wear.
On the second day after getting my full classical set, I woke up and found that I must have been sleeping wrong or my lash cycle was at its end because a good portion of my lashes on the right side fell out. I texted Linh, who responded right away and said she could fit me in at noon. I was sooo relieved and happy because I’m going out of town soon. After receiving my fill, Linh says, «okay, no charge because it’s only been two days». I couldn’t believe my ears! She genuinely cares about her clients and is not in it just for the money. Speaking of which, her prices are so affordable. For the quality you get from Minky Lashes, one would expect to pay more.

I got my lashes done for the first time today and I love them. They fit me, nothing crazy. The atmosphere was relaxing I could’ve fell asleep. I even ended up get my nails done. It turned out to be like a spa day for me. I will define back in 3 weeks SN: Do to my husbands schedule I had to try to get an earlier date and she was able to take me. I simply asked and she got back to me asap

Anyone who has any brains would know that quality and superior service is hard to come by, but I have found these qualities with Linh. Always professional, always meticulous about her work, and just a really nice woman who LOVES to see her clients happy. She makes my lashes look amazing and my experience with her has been amazing EVERYTIME.

Can’t complain about her work, prices are cheaper than in stores save your time looking around I promise and guarantee you’ll love her work! But I mean if you trying to be cheap and rip her off don’t go and give attitude about the price cause it is very affordable. I’ve done my nails and lashes in salons and it’s way pricier, but since meeting Linh I’ve stuck with her she is my go to girl for my nails and lashes no complaints always satisfied

Thank god for Unilocal or I would have never found Linh! She was very nice and sweet and it felt good to know that she has been doing eyelash extensions for years which is what I specifically went to get done with her. She also does other services such as nails and and eyebrow shaping which is definitely something I’ll be going back for as well.
Before I went to her I actually had my extensions done else where but I wanted to find a place closer to home. I’m not going to mention the place for this review is for minky lashes only but recently I found out that the other eyelash extension place I went to were not putting the eyelashes on correctly. They were actually applying it on my skin which I heard is a no no because first of all the bonding agent they use can burn your skin and may cause discoloration on your eyelids, eventually. I knew they had applied it to my skin because after a week, I could feel a lot of the lashes were poking the tip of my eyelid and on my skin. I couldn’t help but pick at it because it was so uncomfortable and it made me super teary! I ended up pulling a lot of my natural lashes because of that. This was the same thing that happened to the other person who got their lashes done there.
Anyways, going back to my review, Linh took her time with applying my 3D lashes. In fact it’s been over 1 week now and I’ve had no painful discomfort on my eye. I’ve been getting a lot of compliments asking if they were real because they looked super natural. What I also liked is the fact that she takes your eye shape in to consideration. She has several lengths of lashes which is good because for someone who has droopy eyes like me, you don’t want super long lashes in places that will make your eyes look even droppier. Girls, I know it’s an investment to have your lashes done but Linh is affordable and it’s well worth the money. You’ll walk out feeling so pretty!

Again a satisfied customer! I love coming to Lihn it’s always a relaxing comfortable place to be… Such a down to earth person! It’s like I’ve been going to her forever! Finally did my lashes again and it’s so natural and light weight but definitely I can see a difference in my face thank god lol… Come on people what the hell are waiting for?! Stop going to those places that don’t take the time to explain themselves to you or going to a place that think they know what they’re doing but they actually don’t they just want your money! She explains everything and let’s you choose she gives a after care paper and a cute wand to brush the lashes out you definitely won’t be disappointed with coming to her!
