Manoa Nails

I had high hopes based on previous Unilocal reviews. This was my second time there. The first was not as disappointing, but certainly not as stellar as the other reviews. Today I got a gel fill and pedicure. I asked for my nails to be done first so I could then enjoy the relaxing massage chair. That chair was the best part of the whole experience!
When Diane did my nails she left them wet so when I went to the chair they got messed up. My pedicure was just ok. I had to ask her to address the calluses because she seemed rushed to get the toes done. When I showed her my nails when she sent me to «dry» she messily touched them up. Just color polish, no clear top coat. It’s then I noticed that she filed them crooked. I decided then I would spent the extra few bucks to go to Fantastic Nails from now on. I really was hoping this could be «my place», but I really was disappointed. Only so so customer service, too.

Joanna cut my toe nails w care and to perfection (and I’ve got some tiny toes so the nails are really hard to cut). She really took the time to clean up my feet and her massage was soooo good I almost forgot I was getting a pedicure!!! The polish job was beautiful! I’ll definitely be back. Oh… and the massage chairs… top notch! Love this place!

Got a wonderful pedicure here! So relaxing! When I bumped my toe and smudged my polish i stopped back in to see if I could fix it and they sweetly insisted on helping! Wish I lived closer so I could go more often!

This review is long overdue. I love this nail salon. One of the best I’ve been to. And it’s cheaper than other places! My sister comes here a lot. Like every 2 weeks.
Anyway. It’s really clean in there! I’m a germaphobe and I felt comfortable seeing the way they clean everything. Plus they are really nice ladies. And they actually have a conversation with you. Unlike other places where you can’t understand them and they don’t even talk to you but their coworkers.
And they do really good with nails. I had always gotten gel polish. I loved the way it came out everytime!

Brought my grandmother for a pedicure and all the ladies took really great care of her, from water temp to leg massage to picking a color. Her first pedi ever and she had a great time. Thank you for making our outing special!

I enjoy coming here, fast and efficient. Pretty good selection of colors to chose from. Better to call ahead, they can be slow at times, then when you least expect it, all the techs have clients. Pretty affordable. mani/​pedi $ 35 add $ 10 more if you decide to get gels.

By the way, her name is Josey. She is still here, and she is still awesome! ⁵⁄₅ for her!
I should’ve stuck to my guns and booked an appointment with Josey. I was impatient and had my toes down with fade-​style gellish polish and the tech got the polish on my cuticles, so the fade is fairly pointless since they’re growing out in such an unflattering fashion.
If you don’t know what I mean, imagine hardened, upturned polish toward the base of your nail, rather than a smooth, natural appearance. Sloppy work, for which I was nickled and dimed.

So glad I found this place! It has become my go-​to for a quick and cheap gel mani or pedi.
The salon is clean and the location in Manoa Marketplace is so convenient and there’s tons of parking. It’s always been easy for me to make an appointment.
The massage chairs are lovely, and they have an ample selection of polish colors for both regular and gel nails. A pedi is just $ 25 and you can add a regular mani on for just $ 10 more (or step it up to a gel mani for another $ 10).
Josey is my favorite technician, she pays great attention to detail and always does a great job!

First time here since all the other places are closed on Mondays. Dragged my brother along with me and received a pedicure.
The place is nice and clean with comfy massage chairs. We came in 20 minutes early and were seated shortly after.
The person who did my nails (wasn’t told her name) was nice enough to ask if the temperature of the water was okay. She doesn’t talk much but I didn’t mind. I don’t like chatting anyways.
During the cleaning of my toenails, she was a little rough with my cuticles and it was sore for a while when my feet was put back into the water. Also, the massage was really short with light pressure. Bummer.
It’s $ 26 (tax included) for a pedicure, which is on the cheap side compared to most salons. I usually go to Fantastic nails which is like a block away. In my opinion, fantastic nails is cheaper (about $ 22/​pedicure) and gives better massages, even if their salon is not set up as nicely as this place.
The workers here are nice, and the place is clean, but I think I’ll stick to Fantastic nails for now.

Of all the salons I’ve tried in honolulu, this is a hidden gem and I’m glad it’s tucked away from the public eye. I rarely have to wait for a chair and they always do a great job. Prices are reasonable, atmosphere is comfortable and the polish choices are great. They never water down the polish with filler solutions as other places do which makes the polish last a really long time! As a regular, I am always greeted warmly and the staff remember personal details which makes you feel right at home (kids, family, travel). It’s always my first pick and I have never left dissatisfied! The other thing I really love are the warm foot towels they use during the leg and foot massage. They smell heavenly (fabric softener?) and are just the right temperature. They come standard with the regular pedicure but they make it feel like a premium service!

So who is a lucky ducky?! Me! I got a gift certificate for Manoa Nails and got to try this place this week. I just can’t believe I’ve never been here, tucked away upstairs in Manoa is this quiet, relaxing place to get pampered.
When I got there, it was very mellow and I was seated right away. The staff were friendly but not super talkative and the whole place was kind of empty on a weekday. What I noticed was that everything was very clean and orderly, which is nice.
I got to meet Josey who did my nails she was a sweet local girl who really did a great job. My nails looked amazing. We were chatting about gelish polishes and different artistic designs — for this visit I was looking for something natural looking and conservative. Josey recommended an American manicure (similar to French, but uses an off-​white for tips). They were perfect!
Prices seemed reasonable and as it got later in the afternoon, the chairs started filling up (note to self, maybe make an appointment next time). In any case I can’t wait to come back!

Ask I can say is, Josey, you’re the best! You gave me exactly what I wanted, you’re skilled at what you do, and I’m so happy with the job you’ve done! Glad the bf told me to go see you!

I think this is about the third of fourth time I’ve been here so far, and unfortunately, I didn’t get Josey. However, I did get another woman who was really sweet. I brought in the woman the I take care of on the side, she’s 97 years old, and the woman took very good care of her. She was patient and took her time and didn’t half ass the job. She took care of her just as how she would take care of any other customer. That’s what I appreciate the most. When we went to other nail salons, they half assed her nails and charged her a leg and an arm. But I’m glad we switched nail salons and came here instead. Their customer service is awesome!

I love my nails!!! Everyone is so nice and friendly is like you’re part of the family. Definitely will come again

Josey and the ladies at Manoa Nails are awesome! Friendly and ever the perfectionist, Josey is one heck of a nail artist! All of the ladies are bilingual which makes getting what your nails just right a lot easier and their nail art goes beyond the flower on your accent nail which is another big plus! I would highly recommend Josey and all of the ladies at Manoa Nails!

Made a same day appointment for yesterday, 2.26.15 @ 3:30PM.
My friend & I arrived and were seated immediately. I was getting a pedicure/​gelish manicure, and she got a pedicure/​fill. I had Josie & she fulfilled all of my expectations (& more). I was utterly impressed. I showed her a picture of the kind of nail art I wanted to do on my hands, and she was so patient with me (I’m very indecisive) and she was very meticulous with her work. They came out perfect!
Plus, you just CANNOT beat the prices!

My first visit here was about 2 – 3 weeks ago, and I loved everything they did. Yesterday I returned for a second time and I didn’t get my nails done by the same girl bc she unavailable and I also like to give everyone a shot. The second time didn’t go as smooth as the first time. But I will give them 4 stars for trying to please the customer.

I had a gelish manicure done here on 9/​7, 4 ½ weeks later, my manicure still looks amazing. There are no traces of the polish lifting. This manicure has been through several countries and airports, a wedding, and several days of field work handling equipment and held up to everthing which says a lot since I am not a delicate being.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because my last manicure here did not last nearly this long. I wish I could remember which gal did my nails this time… ugh!
Overall friendly service and very clean. They open a new pack of sterilized instruments for each client which is a huge relief for a germaphobe like me.

I had my first mani/​pedi here yesterday with Cindy, she was very nice and did an excellent job, and I will be requesting her from now on.
* Good «hidden» location, so you don’t have tons of people gawking at you from the outside
* Price is comparable to other nail salons
* Employees are extremely friendly, but not over-​talkative if you’d prefer to have quiet time
* No wait time for me, but I made my appointment first thing Monday morning
* Great quality work
* Very clean interior, not «fancy», just comfortable and clean; they autoclave their tools and clean the pedicure basins directly after pedicure
I haven’t been getting my nails done for a long time, but decided I needed to treat myself yesterday, and now I’ll be making this a monthly thing since I’m pretty pleased with the results. Like many of the other reviewers, I am extremely picky about how my fingers and toes look. The reason I haven’t been getting mani/​pedis is because I’ve found I can only trust myself to be meticulous enough about cleaning, shaping and painting my nails.
Cindy was very careful to clean everything exactly how I would have done it, and kept a good shape on both my finger and toe nails. This was my first time doing «gellish» nail polish, and I had it for both my hands and feet. She was very friendly but didn’t force a conversation with me, just had a natural flow of communication, which I appreciated. I love the gellish polish, it’s so sturdy and shiny, I feel like I have fake nails or something, but it’s just me! It was a little pricey doing this on both my hands and feet ($ 83 for gellish manicure & pedicure), so next time I will just be doing regular polish for my toes.
My friend came with me and she brought in a picture of some very trendy looking nails that she wanted replicated on her hands. She is a nail-​biter and had nothing to work with. The girl who worked on her did an amazing job and now her hands look straight out of a magazine.

I personally do not recommend this place. came in for a full set and the service I got was rushed and did not feel welcomed at all. my full set was so messy and the lady who polished my nails was doing such a sloppy job. I wish I could get a refund. I will definitely just go to my regular place at Dianne’s in downtown. very dissappointed.
