My mom, sister and I spent almost $ 1000 there. We were all excited to use the amenities and when we got there we were very disappointed having been to other spas. The services that we received were great! No complaints there, but when you spend that kind of money it would be nice to have better amenities to use. The shower products in the women’s lounge were like drugstore brand quality and the Jacuzzi was not even built in.
The treatment rooms were very nice and the technicians that serviced all of us were all very good. If you are looking for a total spa experience, I would highly recommend passing on this spa because you will be very disappointed.
PS THEY HAVE A MANDATORY 20% GRATUITY THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY when you check in for your services.

Day pass is $ 17.50 and gives you access to women only or men only steam room, dry sauna, and whirlpool. Lemon water and fresh fruit are also included as well as robes, locker key, and sandals (nice quality). There are 4 showers available and also have the essentials like hair dryer, hair spray, even disposable underwear and toothbrushes. You literally have to come with nothing extra.
Would be great to hang out with friends. The day pass allows for coming and going all day long.
Visited twice within the day. The steam room, although plenty of steam, never got hot enough for my taste. The door wouldn’t shut completely so I’m not sure if that was the issue. The dry sauna worked great the first time but not the second. The whirlpool was perfect both times.

Happy to report my wife had a lovely spa day at Mandara. The menu changed slightly and the former Nirvana package is now the When In Bali experience. It is PRICEY but if you want to treat someone to an ultimate day of pampering this is it. My wife loves the experience and it makes her feel wonderful and radiant so we keep going back.
The staff is absolutely the best and out shines all the other spa’s we have tried.

Ximena made the end of my vacation bitter sweet. I did not want to leave! The spa staff was warm, inviting and helpful! I am glad I scheduled the seaweed wrap and bamboo massage as my final activity before boarding the plane. It was worth every penny!

Mandara Spa provided a luxurious experience from start to finish. The massage was EXCELLENT.
There were several places to relax, including outdoor pool deck or partially covered lounge chairs in the women’s spa area. There is a dry sauna, steam sauna and jet-​tub in the women’s lounge area. My only complaint is the steam sauna… it is not on continuously, so it is pretty much ineffective when you have to push the button yourself.
Amenities: small two sink vanity with hair and face products.
One perks with a service is all-​day access to outdoor pool deck and gym. You can make a day out of one massage service at Mandara. Spa also validates parking, so no need to worry how long you will be. Located in the heart of Hilton Hawaiian Village, so you can shop, eat, relax, repeat, and end on a massage or service of your choice!

I went in for a massage and pedicure. The massage was great, the pedicure, although my technician was sweet, not worth the price… neither was worth the automatic 20% gratuity.
The lounge area is OK… BUT, the young woman in there Facetiming with her family is inexcusable! Her yelling into her phone and them yelling back for 20 minutes was just rude. The staff entered the room TWICE and never said anything her! So, I guess in this day and age it is perfectly okay to be RUDE! As if that did not top the rude scale she proceeded to watch a movie on her phone WITHOUT headphones… pretty miserable hour of trying to relax!
I would hit up one of the other area spas before this one… maybe they actual expect their guest to be respectful of others.

The ladies lounge has lots of traffic noise. It’s outdated but the lady in there knows how to be hospitable which is more than I can say about the front desk. They are not warm or welcoming and they don’t know their computer system.
I hated leaving the ladies lounge after showering and only in a robe to exit out to a lobby, down an elevator, and out to another waiting area with men in robes. I was really uncomfortable.
I had the deep cleansing facial. I really liked my esthetician but it was a waste of money. It took me nearly 15 min just to pay and check out.

If you plan to get a treatment you can (should) plan a day here at he spa. By having a treatment you have all day access to the facility including swimming pool, lounge, fitness center, jacuzzi and etc. you can also have a lunch and cocktail brought over to swimming pool. Treatment rooms are indoor only. But pool is located outside. Hey have hair and nail salon so if you need a bridal day or whatever ladies day this place coils be a great place. Gratuity is already included in the charge but if you want to leave extra tips u can.

You want access to full amenities (sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, pool, gym) AND a place where you can hang out all day? You want to be able to leave and come back as you please? You want a treatment that includes wrap and full body massage including head and feet for under $ 300? Mandara is like staying at a 4 star Waikiki hotel for the day with a spa treatment.
In addition to amenities above, there’s an open air lounge area in the female only area. As a spa guest, you also have access to the outdoor Kalia pool and jacuzzi and the indoor gym, but so do all hotel guests. Parking validated in Kalia Tower for up to 8 hours including free valet (but please tip). Inquire about specials and kama’aina rates.
If you read the Mandara spa menu, you expect to be transported into a Balinese sanctuary. There are Balinese touches, but they are subtle. Facility is not super fancy, lacks views, but is clean. Staff is helpful.
Checking in took a while. I was later told I hadn’t checked in even though I had. I think this caused my treatment to be rushed. Check in with them around your appointment time rather than leaving it to them. Paid after, and was asked to confirm 20% gratuity (I don’t think it’s mandatory. It goes entirely to service provider. An auto 20% gratuity does seem to be standard practice at Oahu resort spas.).
The spa experience really begins on the 3^rd floor. The Elemis Aroma Spa Seaweed Massage starts with a foil wrap and head massage. Don’t wear the shower cap because it’s too crinkly/​noisy. The seaweed goop does not smell good, but seems to work like magic. Then you shower, get wrapped a second time in foil and oil and you get the foot massage. Then you shower again and come back for the back or full body massage. I wanted every part of the treatment to last longer. Moments after being wrapped, I was unwrapped. The head/​foot massage was very nice, but brief. Lot’s of moving around, not enough time to enjoy. Not sure if the rush was due to the front desk disorganization or if that’s just how the treatment always is. I wasn’t asked about pressure or what areas to focus on. Massage was more like a relaxing rub. Finally, you are offered tea and a hot towel. The shower in the treatment room is nice. Schedule an evening appointment and savor your shower in the glow of sunset.
Sauna, steam room, jacuzzi: Everything needs to be turned on to use. Tricky. Ask staff to explain on facility tour.
Steam room: Perfectly hot and steamy, but you have to spray the eucalyptus essential oil yourself and the smell never gets very strong.
Jacuzzi: An in ground jacuzzi would definitely be nicer to look at, but it’s comfy, clean, relaxing, clothing optional, and ADA accessible. Only one of the jets appeared to work, but you could change the water temperature.
Showers: Shower heads are very high, ask staff if want to adjust water pressure settings. Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel available. Some showers had hotter water than others. I think there was a separate (albeit a bit exposed) ADA shower area.
Lounge area: Comfortable chairs, very relaxing. It is open air and breezy and nice. With air conditioning, lounge areas can be too cold and dry, but with open air you can hear the street and construction noise. Cold towels were available in the first half of the day, but not restocked as the day went on.
Food/​drinks: Was offered small cup of fresh, chilled strawberries and grapes. So good! Only wish there was more of it. Chilled lemon water also available.
Locker area: There is an area off the locker room with sinks and toiletries. Earlier in the day, it was well stocked with all sorts of things — razors, disposable covers for your lady parts, even toothbrushes. Later in the evening, much of these things had disappeared. Not sure why. Go early?
Gym: Good sized facility to get a decent workout. Many treadmills, ellipticals, and bike machines. Free weights, lat pull down, chest press, those pulley machines with the interchangeable ropes and pulls, seated leg press, ab machines, yoga/​pilates mats, and medicine balls. Treadmills have TV and can both incline and decline. Room has TVs, cold water, and disinfectant wipes. Outside the room, there is a bowl of chilled towels. Sometimes the ice melts and the towels get waterlogged and other times the ice sticks to the towels. Was never given a key to access the gym when I checked in.
Kalia pool: Nice size, not for lap swim, not heated. Good in winter as a kind of cold plunge after the steam room/​sauna. Plenty of lounge chairs available, some umbrellas. Jacuzzi also available. Couples: pool area could be used as a co-​ed lounge area; there is no private co-​ed area.
Recommend to those wanting all day access to sauna, steam room, 2 jacuzzis, gym, pool, AND three places to lounge (one spa guests only); those requiring ADA access; those seeking treatments only found at a Mandara.

Pretty bad. The only saving grace was the facial. The massage was subpar. The hot stone massage was more like a hot stone rub down with no massage. In the middle of the «massage», I asked if a massage would be included or if we were only going to do the hot stone rub down my back. He said oh yes massage later, and then there was no later. There was a strong language barrier between he and I. He did not ask about areas he should focus on nor inquire to my satisfaction level during. This was probably the worst massgae I’ve had. The same guy later did my friend (unbeknownst to us at the time) and actually massaged too hard and gave him back, shoulder and neck problems afterwards. Prehaps i got the better deal of the two.
Massage community: everyone does not like elbows and forearm massage. To me it’s nasty and unhygienic.
The facial on the other hand was great. The esthetican was pleasant and proficient. She is what made the 2 stars and if I could give separate the reviews I would give her a 5
The spa was average, not terribly clean and even outdated. The pool was not only for spa patrons but for the hotel occupants. I didn’t get into the jacuzzi since there were four naked women in there when I arrived. The jacuzzi and steam room is very small

I’ve tried other spas but I always keep coming back to the Mandara Spa. I love the facilities that you have access to. Such as the super clean modern gym, the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and the showers. The total experience is so relaxing. Plus they validate your parking. The spa services are always impeccable and first class.
I can’t wait till my next visit!

Purchased the groupon which was a good deal for facial and hot stone massage. When I checked in I got charged another $ 80. Bringing my total up to the regular price. Besides the scam with groupon the massage was ok and the facial was really good. Where I was disappointed was in the amenities. The pool was super small, the hot tub was small along with the sauna and steam room. The lounge area only had water and the staff gave the impression you should not stay after your services were completed. I have been to Ko Olina (Iolani & Aulini) and the Amenities are 10x what this place is for less price. Will not be returning.

I’m writing about my fiancé and I’s poor experience at the spa last week.
For starters, this is the FIRST time I was charged 20% gratuity on a spa service. People tip based on their experience, why do you include 20%? What if I feel the person that provided the services didn’t earn a 20% tip? I knew this up front, so this doesn’t upset me as much as a few other things.
The spa is pretty dirty and very outdated. For the service fees, I would’ve expected a much more up-​to-​date, more modern spa. I attached a photo of the deck area, there was bird poop EVERYWHERE. I understand it’s an open deck, and that’s going to happen, but a staff member should be cleaning that up regularly. How do they expect people to sit in those chairs and relax when they’re surrounded by bird poop? In addition, there were dirty towels out, and dirt on the shower and steam room floor. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to use the steam room, because I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. There were no instructions or labeled buttons.
In addition, the Jacuzzi inside the women’s locker room was pretty disgusting. A plastic Jacuzzi when I’m paying almost $ 150 for a massage? It was old and dirty, and couldn’t even find it in me to get in there, I was so grossed out. And the products they provide in the locker room, they had to of been purchased at the dollar store. The towels were all torn up and old. Again, if you’re going to charge high fees for your services, people expect updated amenities and better products to use. As soon as I walked in the locker room, I knew it was going to be a bad experience.
The staff was VERY friendly and courteous, but we were extremely disappointed with the spa and the amenities (outside of the pool and outdoor hot tub).

A peaceful, fantastic pampering spot at the Hilton Hawaiian Village! I really enjoyed the wonderful large, airy relaxation/​waiting room. It was awesome to sit and have a view of lovely trees and the ocean & sit in comfy soft seats; a great way to unwind even more before service! Also, my masseuse was friendly and worked out all of the knots in my back from the 5 hour flight. That helped me to enjoy my getaway even more! Can’t wait to go back soon and enjoy the Spirit of Aloha in such a tranquil setting!

The guy who did my massage — Alvin, was so great. I tend to have backaches very often so I try to get massages whenever I am able to. Originally I asked for the bamboo massage (to try something new), he started but then gave me his honest opinion that it might not be the best for my body since I was tiny and the majority of the bamboo sticks were huge, so we switched from that to a deep tissue massage and it was the best massage I’ve had at a spa. I was so sad when my time was up. Alvin was very attentive and definitely seems to know his stuff. I told him I wished he lived in Vegas because I would totally go to him every month. I love that he was honest about the massage type I chose and still made my appointment so worth it.
I enjoyed how the steam room/​sauna was semi-​outside so you can enjoy fresh air but do feel like it could be larger/​bit cleaner. Also I think the steam room would have been a lot nicer if it had a eucalyptus scent. That is the only reason why I didn’t give all 5 stars.

I had a great time at the Mandara spa yesterday. As part of birthday gift my friend and I came here for a couple of massages. I got the deep tissue massage for 50 minutes. It was wonderful. My masseuse was professional, kind, and catered to my needs. She asked me which areas were bothering me the most and massaged those area longer. I will defiantly be back.
Things you should know if you’re interested in booking a spa day here is that all though this spa is pricy it comes with some extras that help to make your day more enjoyable. First of all they offer free valet if your visiting the spa! Even if you only decide to only get a massage you can hang out all day at the pool or relax in the jacuzzi. How AWESOME!!! They have a bunch of little extras that you can take advantage of. Contact them for more details. Don’t forget they also offer Kamaaina discounts for locals :))

Vacationing while 5 months pregnant definitely called for treating myself to a spa day! My husband and I were celebrating 6 years together, and decided to splurge on the couples Lomi Lomi package. You can pick any 2 massages and turn them into a couples package, but this particular package includes an extra 25 min of «hydrotherapy»…AKA private jacuzzi tub!
Check-​in is at the Kalia tower on the 4^th floor. It’s recommended that you check-​in 15 – 30 mins prior to your appointment to allow time to fill out any necessary paperwork (allergies, skin concerns, etc), get your locker key, and change into your rube and slippers. The actual treatment rooms are on the 2^nd floor. Once you’re checked in and changed, the spa assistant will call your name from an airy deck of the spa and walk you to the treatment areas where you’ll wait a little longer for your treatment. Purchase of spa treatments gives you full all-​day access to the spa amenities — sauna, hot tub, locker room, steam rooms.
My husband and I met up in the waiting area and were called to our private treatment room. As mine was a prenatal massage, I was really impressed at how attentive my therapist was in making sure that I was comfortable. She surrounded me in fluffy pillows and worked my aching back and feet putting me in total bliss. My husband enjoyed his massage so much, that he actually admitted to drooling a little bit on the floor lol. After our 50 minute massages, we were left in private to enjoy the warm bath in a double jacuzzi tub in the adjoining room. So romantic! Candles, orchid petals scattered, hot tea and cold water as well. We absolutely loved it!
We will definitely make sure to book another massage when we’re back next year. My only wish, is that the Kalia pool was adults only and had a food/​beverage station. This pool tends to be quieter, as most families and guests flock to the Super Pool and the Paradise Pool. Those pools are ALWAYS packed! And there’s the convenience of food and drink options close by. It would be a great benefit for spa guests to enjoy the pool after with a small menu and chilled drinks. Just a suggestion! Other than that, we had a fabulous time!

I’m a fan of spas so there’s no better way to spend a humid, rainy Saturday afternoon than getting pampered! To me, Mandara Spa offers affordable luxury, unpretentious service, and the convenience of a location just at the edge of Waikiki in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Kalia Tower. The ambience feels a bit dated in comparison to the luxury spas on Maui, but on Oahu it’s a solid 3.5 stars experience.
Whether kama’aina or tourist, this is better than a day spa because of all the amenities that come with your treatment (s) — robe, shower slippers, towels, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, shower facilities, locker room. You don’t even need to bring a comb, hair dryer, mouthwash, cotton swabs, etc. Mandara has it all.
For a spa day with three girl friends, we did the «BFF» special that included a facial, body massage and facial for a grand total time of 75 minutes.
Private treatment rooms are cozy and dimly lit with the central focus on the massage table covered by crisply tucked white sheets, a triangle artfully folded back so you can easily slip (naked) under. Even with the a/​c on, it was nice and warm between the sheets, and I felt a bit like a mummy securely tucked in.
I enjoyed the facial, but I have to say I absolutely reveled in the back massage! Of course, I was worried that the sheet was slipping a bit too low for comfort, but since I had a female masseuse, I did not feel «uggi» at all.
The massage worked all the muscles and, honestly, all my fat, too. It was so good in a way that almost crossed the line between pleasure and pain. During the foot massage, I admit a Unilocal and moan burst from my mouth before I could stop it! Meanwhile, my friend said she dozed off and snorted herself awake, much to the amusement of her masseuse.
After our treatments, we retreated to the outdoor deck just beyond the locker room. After a quick shower to rinse off the various oils and lotions, we wrapped ourselves in towels and stepped into the glass-​doors of the steam room, sauna and open-​air Jacuzzi tub.
On the deck, there’s comfortable lounge chairs to gaze out towards the mountain and Waikiki, but no real view so most of the time it’s shuttered closed. It’s also a bit risqué to go naked out there, though we did see some women who were not wearing swimsuits go into the Jacuzzi. Eeps. Hopefully this wasn’t a co-​ed area. Another downside was the smell of cigarette smoke wafting from the deck above.
The spa serves chilled lemon water and hot tea, and offers magazines that you can thumb through while relaxing on the deck. We brought our own snacks, and happily tucked in because getting pampered makes one really hungry.
Validated self-​parking is available in the Hilton’s main garage or you can valet your car at the Kalia Tower. Plan to arrive half hour before your treatment time, and stay as long as you like. We did, and it was worth every moment of the 4.5 hours, enjoy!

I have been going there regularly for over 10 years but 3÷27÷2015 will be my last visit! The treatments are always good, but the front desk is always slow to check people in and out.
On 3÷27÷2015, I had to wait 25 min to check out because I had a 50% off coupon!
Calvin who helped me was very nice, but he was not allowed to calculate the discount. Supposedly, there is a spreadsheet that needs to be used to figure out the discount, but he is not allowed to touch that spreadsheet. The Manager and the other person there would not help him either, even after he told them that I have a dinner reservation and was on a tight timeframe. I was about to walk out and let them chase me for the payment!!! It took 25 min. for someone to look up the spreadsheet and to take my credit card. BTW, they had plenty moments to spare and to help him but didn’t!
I made a complaint to Hilton Management since the manager at the Spa refused to help. But I never heard back from Hilton.
HILTON MANDARA SPA! DONT GIVE DISCOUNTS IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO FIGURE OUT THE BILL AND DON’T GIVE DISCOUNT IF YOU HAVE TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH BAD ATTITUDE!!! AND YOU ARE NO LONGER THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN!
I wonder if the management can hear me now! Oh well, I will not go back and will make sure everyone knows — Be aware!

My friend had a wedding in Hawaii and we all got our nails done at the spa. If I’m paying seventy dollars for a shellac manicure I at least expect the full service. But no. She shaped my nails and painted them and rubbed some lotion on my hands. No cuticle treatment at all. Also when picking out nail polish colors she would tell us that some of the colors we picked were just ugly which I thought was rude since we are the ones choosing them. The no chip lasted but there were tiny bubbles/​holes on most of them meaning she didn’t really do a great job applying it which kinda sucks since gratuity is already included.
The spa portion was nice even though I barely got to use it. The vanity portion was stocked full of goodies, anything you could possibly need. But the locker room is pretty small so it can get cramped sometimes.
