Established in 2009.

Chef Nixon originally got into baking from his daughters requesting Birthday Cakes. Others saw his unique and creative works and started to order their own cakes from him. Thus Madcakez was born.

A graduate of Gros Bonnet Culinary Academy and KCC, Chef Nixon has exhibited many talents over the years. Having worked as the Chef at several reputable hotels and restaurants, the Executive Chef at a major nursing home, and former lunch wagon owner, Chef Nixon has many years of culinary experience.

Nowhere is his unique and creative talents showcased as it is in his cakes. A proud Father of 3 girls, children’s cakes are his specialty, but his versatility allows him to create cakes for any occasion.

Nixon had been my «go to» cake guy! He’s done an amazing job with my dad and boyfriend’s surprise cakes! He is very easy and pleasant to work with — taking your ideas out of your head and bringing them to life! Not to mention he makes awesome macaroons and cupcakes!!! I highly recommend madecakez!

Madcakez made the groom’s cake for our wedding, and from start to finish, it was a smooth, wonderful experience.
After an initial email, I first met with Nixon at the Wedding Café to discuss ideas. What I wanted was pretty straightforward: a cake in the shape of a Packers cheesehead with some hidden Mickeys in the cheese holes. Nixon offered his own thoughts and ideas, but I never felt like he was being pushy. Honestly, the most difficult part of the process was probably deciding on what type of cake & frosting combination to go with, as the sample flavors he provided were all so delicious.
I didn’t see the cake myself until it was presented to my groom at our wedding reception, but it was just what I had requested. My husband loved it, as did some Packer fans on the mainland who were shown pictures of the cake!
As good as it looked, it tasted even better. I ended up asking for a pineapple cake with a cream cheese frosting, and it was so delicious! The cake was super moist and had bits of pineapple in it. The cream cheese frosting wasn’t too heavy or too sweet, and was the perfect complement to the cake. Even after eating so much cake that my stomach protested, my tastebuds wanted more!
Nixon, thank you so much for an awesome cake! It really helped make our wedding day perfect!
