Many of the establishments in the Pioneer Plaza«food court» are either hit or miss. Some smell dank and unclean, others are bright beacons of order and great service. This one is definitely a miss on all counts I can’t remember what I ordered, probably due to the delirium and misery of the next 24 hours. My colleague also suffered similar gastrointestinal distress despite having ordered something completely different. And we both recall the food being simultaneously greasy yet nearly tasteless. Honestly, I’d rather eat a potted plant from the florist right next door than eat here again.

The bibimbap here is so good(see pic). Lots of fresh veggies and plentiful. This remains one of the biggest secrets in the downtown food scene. I wish I could convince them to just switch over to Korean food because their Chinese food offerings look pretty sickly. Their few Korean dishes are spot on, yo! They’re in my building(Pioneer Plaza) at the food court downstairs. On a rainy and dreary day, and not wanting to walk anywhere, this is the place to be — for bibimbap at least.

It’s quite interesting that this place is called Little Hong Kong, when it’s run by two Korean ladies. But I guess that’s Hawaii. I tried the Chinese chicken salad($ 5.20), which was one of their lunch specials. It came with shredded chicken, cucumber, romaine lettuce, carrots, and alfafa. Instead of using the traditional oriental balsamic dressing, they used a home made tangy mayo dressing. The salad was okay and the price is good for Downtown.
