We ordered a dozen malasadas and malasada puffs. I recommend the following: Original malasada Original malasada puff Minus 1 star for the following: I did not like the malasada puff in pineapple. It reminded me of laffy taffy banana flavored filling. The parking lot is very tiny so we had to wait for parking.

The best malasadas ever! They melt in your mouth. Best donut pastry. We came and bought a dozen. Definitely recommend coming here when you’re in the area. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

The Leonard’s Bakery Wagon was on the grounds near Honolulu Hale at night during the Honolulu City Lights. The food truck passed the Department of Health Inspection. My lady friend and I noticed the line for Leonard’s malasadas. I wanted to get at least three pieces for me to devour. I stood in line for several minutes until I could put in my order of malasadas. I believe I had asked for cinnamon, chocolate filled, and vanilla filled malasadas. When I received the bad of malasadas it was hot. I took a bite out of one of the malasadas and noticed that it was hard on the outside yet soft on the inside. Was the dough deep fried twice before it got sold? Taking a bite out of the cream filled malasadas I ended up making a mess out of myself. Cream on the chin, some dropped on the ground, and I think some landed on my shirt. I had to eat the chocolate filled malasada over the sink in the women’s restroom at the Honolulu Hale. Messy eater… need clean up. From now on I will be going to the main location of Leonard’s Bakery for my malasadas craving. 21⁄200

We came to this place after it was recommended by a local friend. Absolutely loved and tried almost everything they had to offer. The line is definitely long but worth the wait make sure you eat them right away so delicious!

Very nice bakery. Went looking for doughnuts, but they didn’t have much of a selection. They convinced me to try the malasadas. Where I am from they are similar to Native American Fry Bread. They were good and would have been better with honey. They were very busy but handled it with efficiency.

We actually made it a point to stop here only because we had drove past and saw a line and it was pretty busy. We had no knowledge of the type of place this was. Once we got in, we saw that it was a bakery style place. I got this sausage(not the hot dog looking one, a polish looking one) wrapped in tis sweet bread. It was good bc it was just the right amount of sweet and salty. It wasn’t warmed, just cooked and sat out ready for purchase. They much have a pretty good clientele, because like I said, we only stopped here because we saw a lot of people here

Great service the people behind the counter were smiling and they were very helpful if you have never been. We got the cinnamon sugar and the custard filled malasadas. Both were melt in you mouth good! They also had regular donuts and kalache’s along with some other island bakery items. There is no room to sit and eat, so be ready to either eat in the car or if you are lucky you will be able to sit on the benches just outside the bakery.

I went to this place because I saw their commercial in my hotel room. The commercial was a guy who sky dived out of a plane to get its malasadas. That just sold me! When we got there, there was a line which proves that it was that popular. One of the best places to try when you’re in Honolulu.

Came here around 10am on a Tuesday after hiking up Diamond Head. The parking lot is tiny so while my girlfriend waited in line for the masaladas, I loitered in the parking lot waiting for a spot. It was about 15 minutes until we received our food. No AC inside. We ordered 2 cinnamon sugar, 1 custard filling, and 1 haupia filling. Ate one of each right away outisde of the store on the benches. Tried to eat the last one a few hours later and it was gross. The custard filling was nothing special. The haupia was better and a great complement to the hot dough when it was fresh. The ones without filling felt like it was lacking something in the center. Unless you’re a huge fan of «donuts», I would skip this place despite its great reviews. We’re not big donut eaters and wish we had saved room for something else.

Date of consumption: 8÷2÷2015 Please note that I didn’t actually visit Leonard’s, but my uncle and aunt picked up a dozen fresh malasadas for my family as a welcome dessert. I just wanted to leave a note that the fresh malasadas are absolutely amazing. You have to eat them fresh because if you warm them later on, they are not as enjoyable to eat. A fresh malasada will literally melt in your mouth. The dough is light and airy, while the sugar coating provides that touch of sweetness needed to make it a doughnut. My Dad literally ate two within 5 minutes. I was about ready to eat two, but decided to practice some self-control and share one with Cam. I did have a cold malasada a couple of days later, and it just wasn’t the same. While edible, it didn’t have the light fluffiness of a fresh malasada. Get the malasadas fresh! Cam tried microwaving one of the cold malasadas, but the dough got really chewy and was not as good to eat.

The best malasadas on the island! The wagon was convenient since it was closer to where we were staying. There was never too long of a line either like the bakery, and they are always hot and fresh! I think the original malasadas are the best so it doesn’t bother me that they don’t have all of the flavor offerings of the actual bakery.

I wanted to pick up a quick snack for some of my coworkers and this was on the way. I stopped by to grab a dozen malasadas and decided on just the regular one(not filled). I got 4 of each of the regular, cinnamon and li-hing(my fave). They were quick with service and it was made fresh to order! No complaints here!

I’m in love with a doughnut! Well to be exact, I’m in love with a Portuguese Malasada puff with Haupia(coconut) filling. Stopped by on our way to the airport for a small snack to bring along just in case. Once I had my first bite I was truly not prepared for the smooth, silky, layers of flavor that filled my mouth. It gave me such a warm, blissful feeling of happiness. Next time I’ll have to try the custard and dobash(chocolate) filled Malasada puffs.

Our friends said that this place is a must. Glad we did. The malasadas are fresh and made to order! Warm, fluffy and tasty… what more can you ask for?! They serve other pastries such as cookies, donuts and bread. Malasadas are $ 1 each and $ 1,35 for the filled ones.
