Leather Soul Downtown – LSDT

As good as it gets! You will not fine a finer shoe store anywhere else on the island! I have been long time client of theirs and have never been disappointed!

What a first impression this store makes! LSDT’s exterior and location fits perfectly with the downtown décor. Entering the double doors, the scent of sophistication envelops you and welcomes you to a spacious, tailored interior. Take a moment to look around and take it all in — the shoes, the bags, the belts, the shirts.
Truthfully, I went to LSDT after learning they carry select lines of New Balance (typically the upscale Made in the USA models). They recently unveiled the collaboration with NB and Reyns which made for some catchy, aloha wear combinations. LSDT’s NB selection is high end with sizes available. Even better, select older models are discounted (check the table). I had a difficult time picking out only one pair of NB, but store manager Justin patiently explained the different models.
Viewing Leather Soul’s web site and social media channels are dangerous, making you want so, so many of their items. Many return visits are a must!

One of my favorite stores on this island. Justin is always very helpful in getting me my next pair of alden or john lobb shoes. They offer a fantastic polishing service that’s done in a very timely manner. Their offering has diversified from shoes to now offering coats, dress shirts, aloha shirts, pants, ties, etc.
The location is great. Nestled in an old building on merchant street is a prime location for this clientele. Hope they stay there for many years to come.
If youre looking for some fantastic shoes that are made of the highest quality than accept no substitute, Leather Soul is the store for you.

Whenever I’m downtown in the day time (which isn’t very often) I always make an attempt to stop by here. Why? Their collection of some VERY high quality shoes and leather goods makes this a true Gentleman’s stop.
I’ve had multiple discussions with Justin (the manager) about my next pair of shoes and after a few sessions of bouncing around ideas, I finally settled on a pair of Alden 966 wingtips. I loved these shoes from the first time I tried them on.
The interior is very man cave-​ish. Their stock is smaller than that of their Waikiki location, but offer shoes more tailored (and budgeted) to the Honolulu businessman. They have their supply of Aldens and Trickers as well as a few John Lobbs. There’s also a pretty nice supply of Reyn Spooner Aloha Shirts and New Balance shoes for a more «Hawaii» business style.
I can’t say enough awesome things LS and their staff and would recommend anyone looking for leather shoes to stop by. You won’t regret it and once you pick up your first pair, your life will never be the same.

Finally had the chance to stop by and visit this very nice spot in Downtown Honolulu. Customer service is excellent and staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Store interior is very nice. I believe this location carries a bigger selection in their New Balance collection, along with a variety of dress shoes and leather goods.

Leather Soul Downtown is AMAZING. I just wish more gentlemen in Hawaii appreciated this place and would shop here. This is a true Gentlemen’s shop much like The Alden Shop, Welcome Stranger, and Taylor Stitch in San Francisco. Oh, but to me, Leather Soul Downtown is a notch above. Located in the historic Stangenwald Building on Merchant Street (Honolulu’s 1^st commercial center), Leather Soul Downtown returns to its roots to help the Gentlemen of Honolulu dress well.
Owned by Mr. Thomas Park and run by Mr. Justin Cariaga, Leather Soul Downtown can help get a man’s shoe, sock, pant, shirt and tie game to the next level. They have Alden, John Lobb, Edward Green, Quoddy, Saint Crispin’s, Trickster, and several other labels. They specialize in one-​off limited runs of Alden shoes as well as collaborations on RTW such as Reyn Spooner, Taylor Stitch, and Individualized shirts. Plus, they have some great leather bags and small leather goods.
While some things are very pricey, go in and talk to Justin and try on a pair of Alden Attorney or Chukka boots. You will see the fit and quality are leaps and bounds above China made, glued on sole shoes. Plus buying a pair of quality shoes that are goodyear welted and stitched means they can be repaired for years to come. Got a scuff or want that dapper polished shine look? Justin can hook you up with some Leather Soul Spa treatment using only the finest cremes and waxes from Saphir, which is made in France and considered the best polish/​cremes in the world.
So next time your wandering around downtown during your lunch hour, go get an espresso at Brue Bar and stop in to check out Leather Soul!

Leather Soul Downtown (LSDT) — what can I say… The same exceptional service and quality as their flagship Waikiki (LSW) location, geared towards Hawaii’s businessmen. This is perfect and dangerous for me as I work right in downtown close to their LSDT location. If you haven’t been to this location you must check it out. The interior is amazing, definitely more of a lounge feeling in the store with a hidden man cave (try to find it). Exceptional service is brought to you by Justin-​the LSDT Store Manager who is usually the only one there most days (although Shane and Takuya do make appearances). And at night LSDT hosts a lot of their events at this location. They are also able to transfer product from LSW over to LSDT to add to the convenience. I can’t say enough great things about Leather Soul, Tom and his crew run an amazing local business.
