I had a trial for excessive speeding (which is a criminal offense in HI if over 80mph and carried serious problems for me in my specific situation). During the process over a couple of months, he was very thoughtful and understood my specific situation. He negotiated with the various prosecutors and put what we thought were solid arguments forward to get an acceptable deal in place — but then when I was about to accept it, he went back and negotiated for an ever better outcome that I am thrilled with. He was able to switch between an easygoing manner outside of the courtroom and that of a focused and hard-​nosed negotiator inside the courtroom to represent my interests. In fact, upon reflection, I believe that it was his friendly interaction with the court clerk that led to an agreement with the prosecutor (hard to describe how this happened here, but take my word on it).
At all times I felt that he was willing to consider all of the alternatives we had — and he kept me informed as to what was happening from a legal perspective.
Again, I had a great experience working with Steve and suggest that you give him a ring if you have any legal problems.
