I had to get a 2 step TB test for school, and I figured I’d go to the Kailua Medical Corner since it was closest to my house. First week went fine, but then when I went back for the second week, they told me they ran out of TB solution, and I panicked since I had a very narrow time frame to get this done in. Thankfully, Unilocal suggested Lanakila Health Center and I rushed on over. Once I found the tb testing center (had to follow signs since it was around the corner from where I parked), it was a quick and easy process. It’s very clean and organized (filled out a form, submitted it to register, then stood in a short line for the shot). Took less than 10 minutes to go in and get my shot done! (I went in at 1:30pm on a Wednesday, so not sure if that makes a difference or anything). Also love that it’s free, so if I ever have to get a TB test done again, I’m definitely going back here!

There is a reason why people give good rating to this place. Everyone works here is so nice! From the lady I spoke with on phone to the doctor I saw. They are all very nice and they listen to you. They spend plenty time on you and make sure everything is good with you. The whole atmosphere is nice. I can’t express how much I like their staffs. Especially one nurse who helped me, her name is Barbara, I like her a lot. She is one of the warmest person I have seen in the hospital. This clinic rocks.

A really convenient and quick place to do your TB. They have a parking lot and if you can’t find parking, there is street parking.
The TB testing is done on the ground level. Fill out a form on the right hand side, register/​receive a number from line 1, then stand in line 2 to receive the test/​reading.
They will give you a flyer to remind you what day to receive your reading. All you need to do is being your ID and wait in line 2.
It’s really simple, the line moves fast and the actual testing doesn’t take more than a few minutes.

I tried coming here to get updated results/​clearance for the upcoming pearl harbor apprentice program but apparently they don’t do it for that reason. In other words you need to be either a student or food service worker to qualify for «free» tb shot and skin test.
However the clinic is very nice and clean, I came here around 8am Monday morning and there was a very short line. Parking wasn’t too bad but like most reviews, come early and it shouldn’t be a problem. Perhaps next time I should just tell them I need it for a food service hospitality job.

TB center is NOT in the front of building. It is on the LEFT side if your looking at the center. Once you make it around the corner you’ll see the door easily.
Bring your ID!
Once you enter you’ll most likely see a line of people right in front. Go through them and on the wall on your right side you fill out a paper. Then get in line.
Once they’ve filled out your paper and given you a code, get in line 2.
Its straight forward, but with all this signs, seems like people don’t know what to do. Its FREE!
I went on a monday morning and the line was short. On wednesday for our reading, the place was empty. I guess we got lucky.

Updated my TB Clearance and the «mean lady» is GONE! There are sweet ladies that didn’t talk loud and mean to you.
Still FREE! Just gotta wait! When it’s FREE — NO COMPLAIN!!! Lol

This is definitely the go to place for a tb shot. The process is fast and easy. I arrived there at 1030 then it took me about 5inutes to wait for parking. When I got inside the line was already long and I had to really think if I was going to wait in this line but I figured since I drove all the way here for Waianae it wouldn’t hurt to wait. I got to the front at about 1050am the lady helping me was very fast, once I got inside the tb testing area the nurse did the shot in about a minute or so then I was on my way out.
They open at 715am so I would definitely suggest taking advantage of the early opening to beat the rush of people who arrive later and also get dibs on parking. You would need to come back in 2 – 3 days for the results.

Very quick in and out. Limited parking, but it was easy. Fill out your form, hand in, get your number, get poked. Done. See you Monday for the reading

How can I give anything less than 5 stars to a place that gives FREE tb testing? Talk about steps towards universal healthcare! Whoops — did I let my liberal thinking show?
Came here for a 2-​step tb test and got it done in 9 days. Each time, the nurses were really friendly and welcoming and smiley. Considering it’s a free service, I was expecting witches. I definitely prefer friendly nurses than witchy nurses when they’re stabbing you with needles.
Each time I went, it was in the morning and noon. They really weren’t as busy as I expected. I think I waited 10 minutes at the longest. While I waited, they showed a locally-​made educational film about tb, which I found entertaining.
All you need is a photo id. Parking sucks.
I have no idea how the rest of the building is, but the tb center was — surprisingly — a positive experience.

Anyone that knows someone that has to attain TB testing (or 2 step TB testing) for any school, program and or major admission please advise them to come here. It’s all free and the hours here are greater than other places that offer the service. Parking is very limited and it does get busy here round the clock so it’s best to bring someone with you to watch your car while you get serviced.
Once you get in the doors, begin to cough very loud and obnoxiously. .. they will service you first regardless of the long line that forms here on the daily.

I just recently had to get a TB test done because I just moved here and was a little apprehensive about the process. The employees here set my mind at ease! I came in around 9am on Monday and left at about 9:25! It was so quick and the woman (sorry I didn’t learn her name) administering the shot was so sweet and kind! It took even less time to get my results two days later!

I went here to get a TB test due to the Hawaii health mandate and the fact that I will be working in a restaurant. Went on a Tuesday and the wait was really short. The woman at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The nurse doing the tb testing was also very nice. Went back on Thursday and there was literally no one there. It was an easy in and out and I got clearance with my certificate! And it was nearby my house which made it perfect.

Need a TB test? Lanakila is your place. TB tests are provided free as a Public Health service by the State. All you do is walk in the doors, fill out one of the forms on the right, give it to one of the ladies at the window, then go stand in line and get your test. All you need is an ID. Readings don’t require any additional work — just show up 2 – 3 days after the test and stand back in line. If your reading is negative, the nurse will issue your a clearance card/​paper. Testing is done Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday while readings are done every weekday (Thursdays are dedicated solely to readings and no testing is offered). Lanakila is closed on federal and state holidays so plan accordingly. Fast, easy, and simple!

On days dat dey get choke people coming in near closing time, dey might not be able to see everyone. So no come late and be all huhū (angry, offended) wen you get turned away. You gotta be IN LINE before dey close in order to receive a test, reading, or x-​ray.

Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, 7:45 a.m. — 3:30 p.m.
Thurs, 7:45 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. (**TB READINGS ONLY! NO TESTING DONE)

Review for TB testing center only:
Overall: AWESOME TESTING CENTER! They are very fast and professional and FREE if you qualify for testing!
Location: Park in the lot or along the nearby park if parking is full, then go to the outside/​base of the building (basement) makai side and follow the TB testing signs.
Hours: Mon, Tues, Weds, Fri — 7:45a to 3p and Thurs 7:45a to 2p. It is also closed during noon to 1p for lunch. You need 2 – 3 days in between the test and the reading.
Hints: go early! It’s not so busy. Bring a valid form of ID or they won’t let you take a test. Make sure you can go back for the reading or you have to do it again. Don’t scratch the PPD test site or you could cause a false positive :(
