Got a haircut from one of these lovely ladies yesterday, and I can honestly say this was the GREATEST haircut I have ever received. Quick and fast service at a cheap price. Very Professional.

My go to spot when I need a haircut. I always get a nice, clean and consistent look, and the best part is that they end it with a complimentary hair wash which includes a head & facial massage. So far, no other hair salon/​barbershop that I know of provides that additional service on the island. Recommend that you call in advance to set an appointment with one of the ladies (I normally use Ana or Jennifer, both are awesome) since it gets really busy there.

Great place! I was a little worried when I walked in and there were just a bunch of guys but the lady who cut my hair was great. She listened to what I wanted and it turned out better than I had even hoped for. My 20 $ hair cut feels like a 200 $ hair cut. I’ll be coming back and I’ll be bringing my husband too.

I live a 5 min walk away so I tend to patronize this place due to the convenience but it is hit and miss as far as quality. If your haircut is a very simple men’s cut, very short on the side tapering longer towards the top of the head with a scissor trim on top, then this is the place for you. I however like my hair slightly longer on the sides.
I have been here five times now, twice the haircut was good, three times they messed it up. Luckily hair grows back.
During my most recent trip to Kj’s the stylist (didn’t catch her name) started on the right side of my head by trimming the correct length and somehow forgot by the time she got to the left side of my head and shaved all the way down to the skin for a full inch above my side burn. Since this looked absolutely ridiculous I was forced to have her trim both sides of my head down to the skin. Lucking hair grows back.
So, If you’re looking for a haircut that is more complicated than one you could do on your own with a set of clippers and a mirror then I suggest you tell your stylist at Kj’s numerous times how you would like it cut before she starts, and be sure to remind her while she is in the middle of cutting it.

EDIT: after my most recent hair cut my roommate pointed out that an entire patch, roughly 2 square inches, on the lower center back of my head was completed missed.

I never give 5 stars but this place earns it. First, it is owned by a Vietnamese lady and all workers have an Asian background. They are very respectful, professional, and do a great job. All for a cheap price as well, I usually tip a lot. I have been coming here for two years now and I always rave about it because they will cut your hair, wash your hair, and give a face massage. The only issue is there may be a language barrier. Other then that, every UH college student should come here. I am unsure how it is for women because of their specifics and details, but every guy comes and gets a good haircut here. #LifetimeCustomer

Great place for a cut near UH. Jennifer is the one to see-​excellent job with funny conversation. The wash and massage are an added plus that come at no additional cost. Better than supercuts!

This place cuts real good but what i dont like the employees talk in their native lauguage while there are customers waiting or having their haircut. very rude!

I’ve always noticed how busy this place looks when I drive by, so I thought I would give them a shot. Got Jennifer — nice local girl. My wife was very happy with the cut (and I couldn’t believe the price).
Definitely a place for guys that get their hair cut a couple of times a month (not my situation) — but I will be back!

Very clean and precise styling. Love the shampoo and deep clean facial massage they give too. Feels more like a spa treatment than just a haircut.

Just went in today and I am super happy with my haircut. They don’t speak a lot of English but that’s ok cause their service is great. Got a face and hair wash, a haircut and she straightened up my facial hair lines all for $ 15. Can’t beat that I’ll be going back for sure.

Never going here again!!! The lady who cut my hair is a straight retard! I have long hair so I told her jus trim it and clean the edges around my side burns and back of my head. She cut twice as much as she said she would and butchered the edges! Don’t go to this place ever if u want a good hair cut! I don’t even think this lady knew what she was doing! Worst place ever!

Love this place, lily is the owner n is the best one in their. Me n my son always wait for her, feel bad cause the others r asking if we’re ready n we always reply that we’re waiting for lily. She’s worth the wait n its a $ 15. haircut. I recommend to all.

Yo bro this place Wack af, I went in there asking for a Low fade Mohawk and even showed the lady a picture of what I wanted and she still proceeded to give me a high fade with a funky ass hairline! These Vietnamese ladies don’t know wtf they’re doing.

I was looking for a place to get a haircut that was close to UH Manoa and affordable so I looked on Unilocal.This place had a lot of positive reviews so I checked it out and found that it lived up to those reviews. I love the clean environment and the ladies that work there are very nice. As far as my haircut goes, they definitely know how cut your the way you want. Also, it’s so relaxing when they wash your hair out afterwards. I got quality service at a great price. Thank you KJ’s !!!

Not going to lie, this isn’t the place you go for your super fancy haircut. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend going here if you’re a woman. This is that place that guys go to do get a simple buzz plus some styling. That being said, this is my place to get hair cuts. I change my hair style pretty frequently, and I’ve been happy with what I get every time.
I would like to speak up in their defense, regarding Kasia’s comment. She mentioned that she went here for her wedding haircut. I’m sorry, but why would you go somewhere like this for something as important as a wedding? I go here all the time, and even I wouldn’t go to a place like KJ’s for something like that.
So to sum up: KJ’s isn’t the place where you get a fancy haircut. It’s for your bi-​monthly $ 14 haircut to maintain whatever simple hairstyle you have.

Don’t go there. Just don’t
Unless you are a man requiring a very simple machine cut. Even then, you might leave with a wet shirt and a disappointment.
But if you are a lady — just avoid this place at any cost. I seriously don’t remember having an uglier haircut, completely messed up just before my wedding. By a person with no sense of proportion or any skill of cutting hair. No matter how hard you try to explain the result you expect.
Men might enjoy it for a free facial massage, but, again, you have water in your eyes, nose and underneath your shirt. Oh well. Just look somewhere else.
I usually don’t leave thrashing reviews, but there is a difference between a bad meal you forget the next day and a horrible haircut that stays with you for a long time.
