King’s Village

I always come here for the farmers market and all the souvenirs to take back home. I was able to get some local fruit, and Thai food for a fraction of the price of the Hilton Farmers Market. Its not very busy so you are able to visit each shop and find great deals. Make sure to compare prices when shopping Waikiki! I found the best deals here but the prices change depending on the days and seasons!

This place is pretty empty and dead. There are a few stores here but they don’t seem to get any foot traffic. What I love about this place is the farmer’s market they have here. Every Friday-​Sunday they will have 3 – 4 vendors that sell baked good, fresh fruits, fresh veggies and delicious thai food. They start at 4pm and goes until about 9pm or when they are sold out. All the fruits and veggies are pre-​packaged and cost about $ 3. If you are there, go check it out. It beats the fruits at the ABC any day!

This is a nice little shopping area within walking distance from most Waikiki hotels and resorts. Surprisingly the price variations are huge between shops for the exact same clothes and souvenirs. Made in Hawaii products are not exclusive to one shop as u may get this impression by sales person, u can find them in many stores in the center. Unfortunately we bought quite a few things from the first store on the Kalakaua Ave side and later found the same clothes few shops down at half price. You can’t return anything here, only exchange. It’s a learning for next time and for you all who are reading this review. :)

Nice little shopping center with a European style that is one block off the main street, Kalakaua Avenue. Probably doesn’t get as much attention as other attractions in Waikiki, but there are some nice restaurants and small businesses selling cool Hawaiian things and treasures.
But I’ve read that this location will likely be demolished in the very near future and replaced with a hotel/​condo starting sometime in 2016. Sad to see all the long-​time attractions in Waikiki being taken away.

Kings Village is fantastic! First off in the evenings they have an art show Art In Motion, that is absolutely fantastic. The artist is Wayne, he is extremely entertaining as well as being an amazing artist. He dances, sings and performs all while creating the most amazing paintings. Beyond this show there are wonderful little shops with varied merchandise to purchase. There is a Japanese Restaurant and a Retro Restaurant as well with Memorabilia, there is a little market some evenings that sells freshly cut Island Fruits, vegetables, they have a limited hot food selection as well. The fruits and vegetables were fresh and great and I wish I had gotten there early enough to try the hot selections. There was also bakery options, I purchased a Coconut Cinnamon Roll to have with Kona coffee in my room. It was amazing. Very reasonable and overall I would recommend a visit to Kings Village for the Art Show, shops and fresh food vendors to everyone!

I’ve always enjoyed walking through King’s Village as its architecture and layout is very charming; a bit European, a bit Disneyland-​like if you will. The buildings rise no more than 3 levels with winding cobblestone-​like pathways and narrow alleys. There is a prominent watch tower with a working clock near the entrance, though it’s not open to the public. You certainly don’t feel like you’re in Hawaii anymore when walking through here.
There are a few restaurants, small locally-​owned clothing and knick knack shops, and jewelers. Quite a few spaces were vacant.
The King’s Guard ceremony is no longer performed.
Unfortunately, this complex’s days are numbered as a hotel/​condo is being planned in its place. The charm of Waikiki is slowly disappearing!

King’s village is a good place to meet up with someone as it is located right in rhe middle of waikoki and they are several stores to look around. All the shops are pretty much souvenier types and similar to what you see in the restof waikiki. They are tables & chairs and also a bathroom so you can take a rest. They have farmers market twice a week which offers food stands and fresh produce.

King’s Village is a nice, winding, little old outdoor mall. Its two stories host numerous Hawaiian-​print clothing stores, several Hawaiian gift and kitsch stores, a surprising number of jewelry stores, and — for some reason — a couple tiny and more modern shoe stores. There are also a couple restaurants, including the Rock Island Café diner, which goes visibly overboard on the pop culture theme of the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s [and I say that while loving diners as well as the Hard Rocks and Planet Hollywoods of the world!]. A small farmers’ market takes up much of the ground floor, inside and outside the shopping center, at least on Wednesday nights; there are loads of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as several stands selling entrees. (I only tried samples from «The Cookie Kahuna» — which were excellent — when I was there though.) The lower level also includes the small, free King’s Guard Museum, which is a bit odd and unimpressive, but I may have simply missed the point. (The museum seemed to be focused on a more modern incarnation of the guards, and I was looking for much more information o the history and origins.)

This place is so cool. At first glance it might feel cheesy until you realize the architecture hearkens back to early 20^th century waikiki. It’s nearly smothered now by high rises…
Cute shops with tchotchkes, the jewel in the — ahem (Clearing throat) — crown of kings village is the museum dedicated to the kings guards who apparently used to come here for a pint in the old days.
Couple that with some of the cheapest parking in waikiki and you’ve got a winning tourist combo.

Cute little shopping center super close to everything. The shops here are pretty much all the same and unlike the international market you cannot negotiate prices for the small keepsakes and trinkets.
They have a farmer’s market every Monday and Friday night. But if you miss it the Hyatt Recency across the street has the same farmers market vendors and more every Tuesday and Thursday night.
I found the cutest Christmas ornament in one of the identical shops located within the market. I also frequented the Subway in the market which had excellent service and staff. The market also houses a kings guard museum so definitely check that out while you are there.
All in all this is a fun little spot that you can walk through in a matter of minutes well worth it.

This place is located off of Koa and Kauilani (sp) street in Waikiki. This place is dinky, but i like taking a mini stroll through there, it has its own uniqueness, im pretty sure the 123 outlet store used to be in the international market place. They quit the changing of the guards here, sad. They do however have a farmers market here, late afternoons, it varies by day though. Oh i have to say im really dissatified with the 123 outlet store there, the lady followed me around in there like i was gonnna steal something… ya aint the mainland, geez!

Love the setup shops from homemade honey to chili paste to organic honey, fresh fruits like dragon fruits, guava, etc. to lobster and shrimp balls on a stick. As for the shops there, it’s a little overpriced on all the items, handstitched or not. Items that I found at this location was cheaper at the ABC store, but if you don’t mind a couple dollar difference, then help yourself.
I love fruits and this place has all the fruits I needed in one setting. We purchased a lot that night and finished the fruits within 2 days — in our rooms, on the beach, relaxing on the balcony — delish!

GREAT PLACE… and the best part is Tanaka of Toyko is located here too!

Decent little shopping center that’s seemingly lacking any kind of theme or pattern. There’s a little gift shop here, a Japanese restaurant there, a diner on the ground floor, etc.
Not really a place you go TO, so much as a place that tourists wander through and accidentally find knick-​knacks or dinner, in their wanderings.

This is a neat little shopping center to walk around and take pictures. There isn’t really anything to do or stores to shop at for that matter. Some little boutiques that are way overpriced, a KFC, Japanese steak house, and a retro café. Every night at 6:15 p.m., they have the changing of the guards at the front gate which is worth watching if you happen to be there. Overall, it is a very bad shopping center but an awesome «set» for taking pictures.

We tripped across this little place while just walking around and exploring in Waikiki. It’s nothing too extraordinary. Just some stores, little restaurants, and a quaint little «museum» lol
We browsed thru the Kings Guard Museum because it was there and free, basically. It was okay. I just remember they had a diner there and an asian restaurant and some shops, but nothing to get worked up over.
Honestly, I don’t know how they make money over there because the place seemed pretty deserted. We walked around, checked a few stores and the «museum» out and kept on walking. I’m sorry, but nothing here to go way out of your way for.

This is off Kaiulani if you’re in downtown Waikiki and I think the owners are trying a bit too hard to become a cool Hawaiian attraction. There’s some kitschy changing of the guard thing in the evening and a bunch of very random stores. I wouldn’t make my way out of here unless:
If you’re in Waikiki and need to find a restroom and are too shy to go into a hotel, you can find one here. Also, a burger king if you decide the rest of the island doesn’t have amazing food you’d want to eat.

Come here ONLY for the Farmer’s Market days where vendors host an array of items to serve the passer bys. The plaza itself is rather lacking and small.

I only come here on a Friday. Why? The Farmer’s Market. Yeah it’s small, but it’s the only place where I can get my favorite coconut peanut butter by North Shore Goodies. The guy that sells them is only there on Fridays, so I try to pick up Hawaii trips that falls on the weekends. I’m addicted to this stuff seriously. I love it. It has no sugar or added artificial stuff. Just coconut and peanut butter. Silky and smooth.
King’s Village Farmer’s Market is also a great place to grab inexpensive fruits and cheap snacks like Hopia. Scrumptious!

I noticed this place because it was SO DAMN CUTE! I’m a sucker for places that seem misplaced. It was full of very colorful buildings in the middle of hotel row.
I think it’s catered more towards Japanese tourists but they sell enough touristy wares /​have good restaurants to appeal to anyone.
Overall, a good place to walk through but nothing compelling aside from the lure of some restaurants.
