Awesome show on a Friday night! Cool vibe and talented comedians! Fernando the Love Machine and Pepper were my faves of the night! On a previous occasion I also got to see Jhonny Rox Hollywood… loved him too! For the $ 10 cover you will def get your laugh on! Shows are held in the Keltic Room (in O’toole’s) and there is parking for a nominal fee or street parking if you are lucky.

Went on the 3^rd friday of the month and had a great night. Parking on the street happened to be free so that was a plus, however there is a public paid parking pass the bar if you don’t want to walk more than 100 yards or look for street parking.
We got there early and figured we would have a drink or 2. When walking into the bar it was a bit smokey, I thought smoking in bars was not allowed but this bar allows it. They also sell cigars. Bartenders are friendly and got us our drinks right away.
When it got closer to the time of the show we walked into the back and checked in, we were greated by 2 comedians (I’d advise checking in early and putting a coaster on your seat, if not your left with whatever seat is opened) The comedians all hang out in the back and are very social, the one even sat with us and talked story.
The show was suppose to start at 730, they didn’t start until 8ish. They have a waitress walking around taking orders which is nice so you can enjoy the show. In this room you can’t smoke but right outside the door you can. The comedians came on and they were all very good. The first few rushed through their jokes but they were funny.
Overall it was a great time, prices were good (get tickets on living social) drink prices were average, the room is in the back of the bar… it is on the smaller side) after leaving the show there was a band so that was a plus as well! Great date night!

A great date night! Funny comics, great drinks and doesn’t cost very much for a super fun and funny night out. It’s a good room for comedy, and you never know who your going to see on stage, from local favorites, up-​and-​coming comedians or national touring comedians its the best stop for comedy in Oahu!

There’s always a variety of comics with a great sense of humour! I always feel welcome when I walk in and never uncomfortable. It’s a lot more engaging than going to a movie!

John yabes, Chad and Mary Jane were hilarious and we will definitely see them again and again.

My fiancé and I were looking for something different to do for date night. I ran across Jose Dynamite on Unilocal.Reviews looked good, so I purchased the deal they have on Unilocal ($ 35.00 for $ 50.00). The show is located in a room connected to Odoole’s Irish Bar. We walked in and was greeted by Jose, who was very friendly. We enjoyed the show very much and had a great time! Just a heads up, if you purchase the deal on Unilocal,you can only use the $ 50.00 worth of goods and services towards admission to the show (beverages need to be purchased on a separate bill). We will definitely be back for more laughs!

I was lucky enough to be invited to this show but normally the cost is $ 10 a person which is not bad considering there are a lot of comics to see.
The show is every Friday night except for first Fridays. The venue is in the back of o’tooles which is a bit small so try to get there by 7 to get a good seat as the show starts at 730. They have a waitress that collects drink orders through out the show so there’s never a shortage of drinks. Make sure you get a bite to eat before the show as there is no food served.
The comics were all funny give or take 1 and we had a really good time and would recommend this for a fun date night.

As a comedian, O’Tooles is one of my favorite places to perform. The comedy is funny and the atmosphere is perfect.

What a fun thing to do on a Friday night! The comics are entertaining and laid back. Always something a bit different and new and with a variety of comics your bound to hear at least one of em tell jokes that cater to your particular sense of humor– if you have one! If you enjoy comedy shows and seeing local up and comers as well as established performers and if you like to drink and have a blast and laugh super hard– check this out one Friday night. Contact Jose and make a reservation and he gets right back to you! Remember that every time you go to a comedy show, it’s different and with varying comics and crowds and comedy is also very subjective. Give this place more than one shot if someone says something bad, don’t write it off so quick! Also, if you see a comic bomb– and every comic will bomb time to time, embrace that uncomfortable experience– it’s awkward comedy after all and how often do you get to see someone go on stage and look stupid– besides karaōke?

This show is very entertaining! Most of the comics that do the show are really funny, and its great for a date, or with a bunch of friends. Although there are a couple of up and coming comics, several are more established in their material. And Jose has a knack for getting great mainland talent who come through Hawaii throughout the year.
My favorite thing about this show is that many of the comics are clean throughout, or skip most of their dirty material for other venues, so the audience can enjoy and laugh without getting their toes stepped on.
O’Tooles sends in a cocktail waitress throughout the show, so its easy to drink, although there is no drink minimum either.
Should you check it out? Heck yes you should

Come, totally worth it. You can see some of the best new comedians in Hawaii showcase their material in a nice intimate setting. I’ve always had fun. The only issue I had was the bar service was a bit slow, took a while to get my drinks, but if you order another when you get your first you should be fine.

This is the best comedy club in Honolulu. Usually a packed house. Comedians are so funny. If you want a great night of good clean fun you need to join Jose Dynamite & Friends. You will leave feeling great.

I’ve always wanted to go to an open mic night!
As many of you already know, I moved here from Los Angeles where I stopped in at the Laugh Factory to watch Dane Cook’s new set among other upcoming comics. However, they were already all established with a working set of jokes prepared.
Open mic leads to such a different experience as these comics connnect to you on a more personal level, learning your mannerisms and tailoring their routine to it.
You must enter Otoole’s to get to the show room. The room is on the other side of the outdoor restroom. The cover charge is $ 10.
I love that they had a waitress making rounds during the show. It’s good to know that the bar is doing more than just lending them the room. The show is intimate, but still had plenty of seats that need your booty in them!
This is probably the closest place you will find true comedy in Honolulu. Put this on your list if standup comedy is a favorite nighttime pastime for you.

An excellent night out. Since the comedians vary, I will save you a review of them. The mc was Outstanding and got the crowd warmed up. The lineup was longer than expected, 5 acts! All great comedians with good quality routines. The layout of the club was small and intimate. A few row of chairs at the front of the stage serve as targets, so watch out. The drink selection is great. Nothing craft or gourmet, mostly tried and true crowd pleasers (e.g. mostly beer and sweet cocktails).

Overall I definitely give Jose Dynamite & Friends a 4 star.
The venue is in the Celtic Room in the back of O’Tooles. It’s very small and cozy. There were about 24 chairs for the audience. There were tables and chairs for the comedians and the staff I believe. You are able to order drinks and you can have pretzels for snacks.
There was a host/​emcee that was quite humorous. He didn’t seem prepared but maybe that was part of his skit. I’m not sure but he was funny. I can’t remember how many comedians there were total but some of them were very funny and one of them was okay. Jose was pretty comedic as well.
My friend and I laughed a lot and really had a fun time. Our cheeks were hurting by the end of the night.
I would recommend everyone going at least once. It was fun!

I was lucky enough to be invited to this newer comedy show last Friday night. The venue, located behind O’Toole’s, was very small and intimate. Almost every seat in the room was full, which was a good sign.
As for the comedians, some of them were a little rusty, but that was to be expected — the show is marketed as a place for new, local comedy talent to test their chops. I appreciated the jokes and the differing styles of humor throughout the night. That is much nicer to get a sampling of joke styles as opposed to being stuck with the same humor for three hours. I also appreciated the interaction with the audience. The small venue allowed for this to take place in a way that didn’t feel forced.
I wish the best for these comics and hope this show is a stepping stone for future success.

Went last night and of the 6 comics only two (one of which was the host) were at all polished and ready for a performance. I fully support local, amateur comedians and expected some rough edges but the quality was much worse than that. I would go back only to support the effort but couldn’t recommend this to others. The show was also entirely too long and the headliner went on way to long in a rambling fashion. Again, kudos for bringing something like this together but spend some time getting the product tightened up.

Went to see Jose Dynamite & Friends last Friday night and had a blast. This is a great venue to see young comedy talent develop.
Jose Dynamite was an excellent host for the proceedings. If your looking for something different and fun to do on Friday night O’Tooles is the place to be!
