History

Established in 1999.

In 1999, Dr. John Wu started his private practice after completing his residency program from The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. In 2004, Dr. Christina Nguyen joined his practice to help establish a husband-​and-​wife dental team. Both Dr. Wu and Nguyen are committed to providing quality and excellent dental care to their patients and maintaining long term relationships with them.

Business Owner

Dr. John T. Wu received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 and finished his dental residency at The Queen’s Medical Center in 1998. He earned his B.S. in Biology from Boston College. He currently is a member of the American Dental Association, the Honolulu Dental Association, and Richard V. Tucker Study Club.

Dr. Christina N. Nguyen received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston in 2002. She obtained her B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia State University. Prior to relocating to Honolulu in 2004, she had served patients of all ages as a general dentist in Atlanta. Dr. Nguyen currently is a member of American Dental Association and the Honolulu Dental Association.

I went to my first visit after reading the great reviews and I can say that I wasn’t disappointed. Dr. Wu is very kind, patient and friendly. The rest of the staff were as well. I locked my keys in my car heading into my appointment and about an hour after I left they called to make sure I had gotten my keys and that everything was ok. I will be back and highly recommend this office. I love the paperless aspect of the office as well!

Wonderful staff! Everyone seems to be always on there toes just to help their clients out in anything that they need. Dr. John Wu is also great, very patient, careful, and takes his time in every procedure and actually gets to know his patients. It’s always great to come here for our appointments because when we are at the office it always feels very welcoming and comfortable! Great team and wonderful staff and Doctors that work here! I’ve been going to Dr. Wu and Dr. Nguyen for many, many years. I’d like to start by saying the office is absolutely beautiful and all of her machines are up to date. Both husband and wife always give great recommendations and options for the best dental service for me, its a truly personalized experience and you know for a fact that they’re not in it just for the money. They know how to take care of their patients real well from giving me a pillow for my neck, to giving me a cover for my eyes to protect it, to even providing great entertainment such as iPads for me to use while going through my procedure. They always remember me and make sure that I’m comfortable in their office. I’ve recently got my teeth done here and I’ve been getting compliments on how great they look, all due to Dr. Wu & Dr. Nguyen! They now made me proud to show off my smile. They even took the time to smoothen out my bottom teeth (without extra charges) even though I only paid for the top to be done and that just shows how much they care about their patients. Not only that, but she even did my back teeth for free and right on the spot! Their service is exceptional, meticulous, and worth more than the price I paid. Not only have I gone here for dental services, but I take my whole family here, too. My sons and husband love them both as well. It’s always clean, bright, and friendly here. The doctors along with the nurses and receptionists give great service and always know how to give exceptional service especially Linh! I’m so glad I chose them!
I highly recommend everyone to try the two out, you won’t regret it! I’m sure they’ll be your favorite dentist because they are mine!

There is a reason these Dentists are rated some of the best in Honolulu! I’ve gone there 7 years and have been super please. Dr Wu knows my pain threshold so well, sometimes he is able to refill a composite filling without anesthesia. All his staff is pleasant. Best dentists in the world! The staff is awesome and very polite. The hygienists are very thorough and you will leave a checkup with a whiter, brighter smile. Dr. Wu has been my dentist for many years and provides excellent customer service and always takes the customer’s concerns seriously.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. Second dentist office in my life and I don’t plan to change. The staff is tremendously friendly and courteous. They’ve added new additions to the office staff as well as expansion. Staff is caring and they even remember little details about you! They treat you how you are. I’m a punk when it comes to the dentist but they worry me free.

Been coming here ever since I was little. I’ve always hated getting my biannual dental check ups. But, I can’t recommend a better Dental Clinic to go to. I’ve always felt at home coming here and would recommend others to come here, too!
Staff is very caring, kind, and does their best effort to make sure you leave in good health. Also, I think they do remember their patients, which to me is a big factor in making you feel as welcomed as can be.

After not being happy at my old dental office, I decided it was time to change providers. My first time experience was great. The staff are all so nice. Dr. Wu and Dr. Nguyen are both very educated and knowledgable. They explained everything to me very well and always made sure I was comfortable at all times.

I totally agree, Dr. Wu and Dr. Nguyen are the best as they come. They are gentle and honestly want to help you look your best. My daughter is 9 and she has told me on several occassions on how much she likes Dr. Wu and his staff; they allow her to watch and listen to music on there office IPads; which keeps her busy while I am having my teeth clean. Five stars all around. Clean office, clean instruments and up to date technology, awesome Dr.‘s and staff.

Excellent dental care. My wife, son and I have been having our dental needs taken care of by John and Christina for seven years. This was the first dental office where I felt comfortable and relaxed in many years and not dreading a visit. The entire office including the receptionists and dental technicians are great and the overall environment is friendly and welcoming. I also find the reminders before an upcoming dental visit helpful.

Growing up I never really liked going to the dentist. As an adult, it was even harder, especially because I almost never had good experiences.
My coworker referred me to Dr. Wu. I called and was able to get an appointment right away. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The receptionist was very friendly. I had the best hygienist ever. She explained everything that she was doing and always asked me if I was «okay». Dr. Wu is very professional and more so, very personable. When my appointment was done, I met with another friendly staff who went over my future appointments. There was never a moment where I felt pressured to do anything that I wasn’t ready for. I am glad that I can finally say «I have an awesome dentist».

I was going for a vacation right after Christmas and needed a cleaning. I called a couple of offices but most of them needed to wait for a month or 2. However, Dr. Wu’s office had a openning on the same day that I called and they took me in right away. I was very satisfied with their service. Both dentists were super friendly, their staff was sufficient and informative, the location is convenient and the office is paper free enviornmentally friendly.

I’ve been coming to Dr. John Wu since I was little. I really like coming to Dr. John Wu’s office. The front office & back office staff are all very nice and Dr. Wu & Dr. Christina Nguyen are very personable & they do quality work. I am always happy with the work done on my teeth. He always looks out for your best interest and is very conservative when it comes to doing whats best for your teeth. Being a dental assistant before, I know what quality work is. My kids also have been coming to Dr. Wu since they were little. Its a great dental office for the whole family!

Office has very modern technology (an iPad to sign in, flat tv screens mounted up on the walls, nice marble counter, and lots of nice chairs in the waiting room). The wait is never long and there’s always 2 – 3 ladies at the front to help you check in and make an appointment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The magazines in the waiting room is up to date and interesting (People, US Weekly, etc.). The dentist has been a dentist for a pretty long time. He remembers me every time I come and not just my name. He asks how’s school, how’s my brother, if I’m still working at the hotel. Maybe he writes this down in my file and reviews it each visit (ha ha). Anyways I just got my wisdom teeth extracted and I go in for regular cleaning. This office is located in the Ala Moana Building, Suite 1016! Check them out, great dentist overall!

Dr. Wu and Mrs. Wu have been maintaining my healthy gums and teeth for the past five years! They are very high tech! From the minute you walk in you are greeted with friendly staff and IPad sign in! Amazing! There tools and technology they use set them apart from the rest! They are always giving me reminders even with my busy schedule! Text messages, emails, and phone calls are mandatory!!! If you want the best treatment, knowledgeable staff, and one of the most modern facilities near Ala moana center this is the place for you! Ohh almost forgot free parking in the mall! Dr Wu takes the time to get to know you and even works weekends!!!
