I purchased a massage coupon in groupon for 35 $ 60 minutes massage, Hong is the one who do massage on me. He is very very good and professional! I thought they will not give me a good service because I got the coupon 50% like other salon I had been, but alas! I am wrong! It was by far the best massage I ever had. Would definitely be coming back here again and again.

If I could give a couple more stars… I WOULD. This salon is amazing! No hustle and bustle. It’s calm and serene. And the service is AMAZING.
Parking is located in Finance Factors the building to the right (1132 I think) and they validate!
Upon arriving we were seen promptly. There were 3 nail technicians working and they all made sure we were taken care of. We were offered tea and water by Hong. And Jenny answered all our questions about services offered. I was seen by Helen and I absolutely LOVE her. She was so sweet! She took her time and made sure I received the absolute best service. My pedicure was perfect and decently priced (30 for the Classic) and my manicure was even better (gel mani at 35).
I am definitely going back to this salon. The service you receive is certainly worth every penny! Give them a chance and stop by, you won’t regret it!

Hubby and I decided to have a staycation to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a better spot to pamper ourselves! It’s evident that JJ Union Nails is operated by people who are passionate about cleanliness, customer service and a quality product. Rose did my mani/​pedi and Hong took care of my husband. They were delightful and our time there felt more like spending time with friends than the usual semi-​awkward business transactions we are used to from other places. Rose is incredibly attentive to details. I chose a very light grey color and she asked if the color I selected was too light and if I wanted to stick with it or switch. I’ve never had anyone think to ask that! The atmosphere is very clean and calming too. Their attention to detail carries through from the thorough weekly cleanings, to changing the calming visualizations on the TV screen to «sunset» mode when it gets to be closer to the actual sunset. From start to finish, we felt so taken care of! We are definitely making this place a part of our routine and would recommend you do the same without hesitation!

My husband and I tried this nail salon today, and we were very impressed. We got the classic mani/​pedi and brow waxing. We have lived here for over a year and I am so glad we found this salon! It is clean, quiet and relaxing. The entire staff was friendly and great at their jobs. I especially liked that they honor your time. We made the appointment the day before and did not have to wait at all.
Another bonus is that they have a very easy to use rewards program. You don’t have to keep up with a punch card– your points are tracked with your phone number and it even texts you when you have earned a reward. We earned an add-​on just from our services today.
There are several parking areas nearby, and the area is very cool if you want to make a day of it. We parked at the lot on the corner of Beretania and Nuuanu– they have 1-​, 2-​, and 8-​hour pricing (pay ahead when you park), and the salon was a short walk from there. Our services today were about 2 hours– they are very thorough and do not skimp on massage portion of the mani or pedi.
We are very pleased with our experience and will make this our regular spot. Ladies, if the man in your life has not enjoyed other nail salons, I recommend trying this one before he gives up on getting his nails taken care of. They also offer massage and other services.

Oh my God where do I start. This place is so awesome. They aren’t worried about making money as much as they are taking care of your actual nails and making sure that you get the proper thing done the healthiest way possible. Another thing I really like about this place is that even though they speak another language they stick to speaking in English so people feel more comfortable. I will definitely be coming back!

Tucked away just off Bishop, it’s a little tricky to find but it’s a GREAT find, nevertheless. A quiet, clean and relaxing location combined with the polite and thoughtful staff make for one of the best nail salons downtown! Will be a regular going forward. Highly recommended.

Each time I go for my regular massage therapy appointment, I am welcomed as a customer as if the first time. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere and an obvious attention to cleanliness. The service is very personalized, timely, and professional. Hong is very skilled and I would recommend him without reservation.

Desperately needed a pedicure in the middle of my vacation, and happened upon this place. My pedicure was perfect! The young guy even made a color to match my nails since they didn’t have one, and the nail tech was so sweet and thorough! I’d certainly come back!
UPDATE:As I was waiting for my ride I decided to get a quick chair massage. I don’t generally like chair massage, but Hong (the young guys name as it turns out!) was FABULOUS. He really knew how to make ten minutes count! I’m a picky NYC/​LA lady, and this would be my go to spot if I lived here.
By the way, I fell asleep during my pedicure, that’s how relaxing the space and the energy she was giving were!

We hired them to give 15 min. massages for the entire office… let me tell you EVERYONE LOVED it and we are hoping that this can be a quarterly activity. I worked with Hong and he was responsive and very accommodating, we had 4 therapists for 4 hours and the therapists worked hard! I don’t know if they even had a break, all I know is that everyone loved their service. They were professional and easy to work with and even brought in scented candles and therapeutic music to set the mood. It was amazing and we all wish it was longer. I hope we can work with them again!

You have to try this place! First off, customer service is beyond exceptional. They treat you like first class no matter the type of service. I came just for a pedicure because I wanted to see how it was. The foot massage was absolutely heaven!!! The customer service and quality of their service was superb that I stayed for a full set of acrylic nails. I am definitely coming back.

Absolutely love this place. This was my first time and I can say that I’ll be returning. I got a gel manicure with nail art and am very pleased. It was very easy to find and definitely beautiful inside. It’s small, but they do a wonderful job at keeping the place very clean. Hong did most of my manicure and Jenny did my nail art. I absolutely love my nails!!! They’re both wonderful and were so patient with me and my nails. They both were very accurate with their work and made sure to remove any polish that got on my cuticles. I greatly appreciate the attention to detail. On top of the wonderful service, it was also reasonably priced. I’m going to tell all my buddies about this place. I had an amazing experience!

I took my daughter to JJ Union nails as a Saturday morning treat and absolutely loved it. Jenny & her brother Hong were so nice to us, and treated us like royalty. I had a pedicure and my daughter had a mani-​pedi. We both walked away feeling like we under-​paid for the quality of service we received. (oops, I suppose I shouldn’t have said that outloud!). The location was a bit difficult for me to find, because I was unfamiliar with that part of downtown, but the brief hunt was worth the effort.

After reading the many wonderful reviews, I had to give this place a try!
If you live or work in downtown, look no further!
I appreciate the sister and brother duo. They’re polite, respectful and everything is in great order. Jenny took her time to make sure my nails were Vegas ready! And I’m absolutely in love with the outcome!

After reading these Unilocal reviews, I had to check this place out, and it didn’t disappoint!
I walked in right as they opened for a mani/​pedi, and I was really bummed to hear that they had some appointments coming in. I wasn’t going to be able to return later in the day, but then they asked, «How about express service?» Sounded great to me!
And, no joke, 30 minutes later I walked out with fantastic nails. Helen and Jenny both helped out (Helen did my toes while Jenny did gel polish on my fingers), and despite it being express, I still got a nice foot soak, cuticle care, and shaping. They have an impressive range of gel polishes, and I really appreciated that their polishes are arranged chromatically as opposed to the hodgepodge you see at lots of salons.
Everyone was super nice to me: they offered tea or water when I sat down, they made sure I was comfortable, and they were friendly without prying.
I’m so impressed that my nails look this great for such a short service, and I can’t more emphatically recommend this place.

If you work in or visit downtown Honolulu, you MUST check this place out! I’ve been two times and wanted to wait to post a review (since the first time was so amazing and I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a fluke). Anyway, this place is somewhat hidden so call and they will help you find it if you’re not familiar with downtown… but it’s worth getting a little lost.
So far I have been twice… and I will keep going back. I found this gem for my first appointment after looking at Unilocal reviews and wanting to get a pedicure downtown after work (to avoid sitting in traffic). They made me feel like a queen. They were so nice to me (got me water and offered me tea), as I got an amazing pedicure… I asked if I could get a manicure too. They were happy to do it — even though it meant them having to stay late.
The second appointment was just as wonderful. I rushed after work for a pedicure and they stayed late again for me (I never leave work on time). As a bonus, they have this great app and point system that gets you extra goodies… so I got a free sugar scrub and paraffin wax dip.
Overall, this place is family owned and has all wonderful people. I’m excited to make this my regular place to get a mani pedi

I was looking for a nail salon to treat my mom and I before my wedding. I landed on JJ’s cause of the reviews and location from our apartment. My fiancé ended up coming with us and Jenny and her team was more than awesome. Extremely high quality work, awesome pampering massages and really affordable!
They have a wonderful and clean facility with some stellar massage chairs! My fiancé went first with a simple cleaning/​buffing mani pedi. It was his first time and they did such a good job pampering him, he now wonders why all men don’t do this. In fact, 3 weeks later, his nails still look great.
Jenny’s brother did my mom’s nails and he was so incredibly patient helping her find the exact color she wanted. Since none of the colors on the wall was quite what she was looking for, he experimented with a bunch of colors, mixing and match till she was happy. Seriously, SO PATIENT! Also, my mom ruined her thumb an hour after we left and they were more than happy to take her back and touch it up.
For myself, I honestly could not have been happier with my nails for Jenny. She encouraged me to do gels for the wedding so I didn’t have to worry about my nails and she nailed it. She gave me the exact look I was looking for and even took it up a notch. And my pedicure still looks FLAWLESS! No idea how she did that. Also, Jenny threw in a hand scrub for me since the wedding was the next day. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had at a salon.

Came here a couple of times and they never disappoint! Especially with the pedicures. Service is great, always offering drinks and making sure you’re comfortable.
Since the salon is located in downtown, parking is very limited but I just park in the Walmart parking garage and buy $ 10 worth of items and parking is free up to 2 hours. Walking distance is only about 5 minutes.

Was in the area because my mother was getting a haircut and I stumbled upon this salon when Unilocaling the nearest nail salons. It’s on the first floor of the union building and can be a little hard to find; just look for the sign with a bunch of colorful balloons outside the doorway.
So since the salon was, you know, in *cough* Chinatown, I expected a slightly run down salon with big «cheap deals!!» and tacky décor. Instead, I was surprised at the sight of the pristine clean white salon! as I pushed open the door, They even asked if I wanted anything to drink (and they had juice!). Even thought it was a Friday and an hour before closing, they still managed to take me in.
I’m pretty sure my gel manicure was the fastest I ever got without it looking like crap. I loved how it wasn’t super thick like most other salons and they managed to work with my tiny tiny preschooler size nails. I mean, have you seen them? Anyways, they’re very accommodating and actually have really cute designs (unlike some places that just ask «you like flower?»)
Their prices are pretty good (I posted a pic of the menu) and totally worth the service you receive. They do other things like waxing and even massages. I’ve been needing a good eyebrow wax since I got them threaded recently and one eyebrow is definitely lower than the other.
Will definitely be coming back!

Great experience at JJ Union Nails last week. My friend and I decided to check them out after hearing good things from another friend.
Located downtown, about a ½ block from Bishop Square makes for the perfect location if you work downtown. The location is a bit hidden inside an office type building but there is a small sign with balloons outside to help direct you.
It was very clean and quiet. The brother and sister team did a great job with our manicures and pedicures, even offering the express pedicure because we were pressed for time. Very pleased with how our nails turned out.
They offer a stamp card which will help you earn $ 20 towards services! Pretty generous!
As first time clients, we were also offered either a free small gift bag or free design on our nails, we both opted for some small crystals on our gel manicures. This extra special touch in customer service is sure to set this nail shop apart from the rest.

Was able to walk in without an appointment. Get my mani just as I wanted & out the door within an hour. Excellent service, very quiet atmosphere & hospitable company with brother & sister owners.
If in town perfect place to run to when you need some pampering. Recommend you make an appt if you’re coming on lunch.
