I’m a first time home buyer and was referred to James by a friend of mine. James is very knowledgeable about current the market environment and is not quick to rush the sale. I know nothing about real estate so having the piece of mind that James provides is comforting. I align well with James’ approach to business in that it focuses on education and strategy. I would highly recommend sitting down with hands to get a better understanding of the real estate market and identifying what real estate opportunities that best suit your immediate and future needs and goals.

I referred a client to James. She was looking to sell her second home and wanted a trustworthy realtor to guide her through the process. James met with her and was ready with a market analysis showing trends and forecasts. He eventually talked her out of selling, explaining to her that the time wasn’t right and since she wasn’t in dire need to sell it, she should hang on to it and rent it. The fact that he basically walked into a commission situation but advised the client to do the right thing — which eliminated the possibility of a transaction, impressed me to no end. James does the right thing for his clients. I would recommend him to anyone.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with James for my very first home purchase. Being a novice home buyer, I was completely overwhelmed by all the logistics of real estate purchasing. James was so thorough and expert in his explanations of the processes that it gave me the reassurance and faith that I was in good hands.
I learned so much during this entire process and at times it was very frustrating being in such a competitive condo market with a limited budget and limited inventory. Aside from the usual things you expect your realtor to do, what I really appreciated was his knowledge and experience in the Hawaii market and his ability to truly understand his clients’ needs and wants and the innate ability to differentiate between the two. He helped me rule out properties that would have just wasted my time, and opened my eyes to properties I’d never consider on my own. Further, he was able to point out things at the properties that I never even considered which in retrospect, would have been major deal breakers.
I feel I should disclose that I’ve been friends with James for most of my life. People have always cautioned me against working with friends and family for obvious reasons. You would assume that you’d be more lax in judgement and expectations of a good friend, but it is just the contrary. If you know me at all, I’m a VERY particular person and like things done efficiently and correct the first time with little to no patience or variance once a deadline or expectation is set. I have to honestly say he exceeded my expectations in every way. He made what otherwise would have been a very stressful process into a comfortable, smooth transaction. He connected me with great people for my mortgage loan, insurance, inspections, appraisals, etc. and made himself always accessible to me with any questions or concerns i had.
His follow-​up is great, admittedly better than mine, which annoys me because I’m very competitive. He was always several steps ahead and either already had an answer for my question or it was being looked into and he would have an answer shortly.
Objectively, I would recommend him to my closest of friends and family. Without a doubt, he will take excellent care of you. This was the biggest purchase of my life thus far, and I am so grateful to have James captain this experience with me.
