Thomas, I love you once again. Every Unilocal related event I attend just gets better and better whether it’s a UYE, IYE, CMYE or an Elite event. The only drawback is the fact that I’m getting fatter and poorer. I think attending this event I gained over 3,000 empty calories of fun, Soju and Jack in the Box tacos. I don’t know about the others who were in attendance but I was secretly glad it was a small attendence. I think the best Unilocal events are the ones with small groups. Or maybe that’s just the selfish part of me who is delighted that I can have all my favorite Unilocalers all to myself. I think we were all secretly delighted to get to know each other better in such a fun light hearted manner. Dressed up in ‘80s gear, drunk, cracking jokes and singing along to well known ‘80s classics. Meeting up at Café Duck Butt for some pre-game drinking, eating, socializing and karaoking was a brilliant idea. Perfect way for the non-regulars to be meeted and greeted by the friendliest bunch of Unilocalers ever. I had a blast but I was drinking tequila since noon by that time so I was ‘drunk on the Pope’s blood’ at that point. I didn’t manage to eat more than a few pieces of food but I was impressed by it nonetheless. I look forward to the day that I’m able to try more. I loved the three types of Soju that were housed in plastic water bottles that you would take on a hike. We had melona, peach and lemon flavors. Very smooth and flavorful. The lemon a bit sour but still refreshing. I mixed all three which was surprisingly delicious. You could still savor each individual flavor. It’s also good with tequila. The concert was interesting… When I say that I mean thank god I was drunk for that patheticness. I genuinely felt sorry for the few performers we could actually stomach. At first we were excited to be there, dancing away, shaking our bits and laughing. That enjoyment ended once we sat down. All I can really say it wasn’t ear rape but it drove us out seeking relief from the«performances». I still get flashbacks of that lone male dancer gyrating about. A stop at Jack in the Box to partake in fatty food was necessary after that mess. That way we could discuss the concert, gossip about boys and eat fat attack food to soak up all the booze. Most of the group called it a night but for a few of us the night was young. I had an epic night during the IYE and afterwards. Happy memories and no hangover! A special thank you to Thomas for holding my hand while i was in my drunken state!

So, I was a bad girl and didn’t attend Thomas O.‘s first IYE, but likely I did attend this one. I know the event description said that we needed to dress in 80’s attire, but honestly we weren’t going to at first. Then the boyfriend changes his mind and says(a couple of hours before the event), that we were going to dress up. UGH! Crap! Luckily I have a bag full of costumes and was able to come up with something quick. And you guys know how much Bubs and I love to dress up. We arrive at Duck Butt a little after 5 and luckily we got to sit in the room, because we were singing our hearts out to 80s music. We wouldn’t want to torture other patrons in the bar with my horrible singing. Plus I think I heard that songs are $ 2 in the regular bar area and $ 1 in the rooms. It’s always great to meet new Unilocalers at events like this one, because you truly have a good time. Shout out to Thomas for hooking up the tickets to the Freestyle Invasion and making sure we got drunk at Duck Butt before heading over to the Blaisdell! Awesome Job!

Who is the best Unilocal Intern ever? DUH! That would be Thomas O. of course. Thomas hosted an awesome IYE(Intern Unilocal Event) this past Saturday for the Freestyle Invasion concert! The event started at 5pm at Café Duck Butt when Thomas walked in with tons of Unilocal Swag plus glow sticks! What is an 80’s throwback concert without some glow sticks? Awesome. We had a blast singing karaōke, devouring delicious eats, and drinking tons of flavored Soju! How could this pregame get any better? Well let’s see… Karaōke! Yes, we sang our hearts out to oldies and goodies for close to two hours! Girls just wanna have fun! Right?! Then it was time to venture over to the Blaisdell which was another event in and of its self. For such a short walk it was a fun time. All the Unilocalers fully decked out in 80’s attire attracted a lot attention. We were taking pictures and random passers-by asked to pose with us! The concert was ok, but it was the company that made it awesome(not to mention all the Soju from Café Duck Butt)! I got to meet so many awesome Unilocalers! The fun continued after the concert when we ventured across the street to Jack in the Box. Of Couse, since I am from Alaska this was my first trip here. The Unilocalers and my plus one Sammie T. made sure I was taken care of with the best drunk food ever! Thomas O., way to go! This was such a fun night that I will remember for a loooong time! Can you please host a IYE every day?!

So if i had to describe myself, I would use the following words: quiet, shy, anti-social, and wall-flower. Yes, it’s true. But this all changed after I attended IYE Freestyle Invasion with Thomas O. For the longest time I thought IYE stood for Intern Unilocal Event, I didn’t know it actually stands for ILLEST UnilocalEVENT. Since my slang terminology is subpar(IOLANIBOYHERE) I was informed that«illest» means best, most sickest thing out there. ANDTHISEVENTWASTHEILLEST UnilocalEVENT. Sure it wasn’t a hosted bar but who needs alcohol to have fun, right? Just look at the event pictures. All those sober people having such a great time. I think my favorite part about this event was the people. Dressed in crazy 80s get ups, glow sticks rockin’, and lipsticks poppin’. My duck butt cherry got popped and after some really amazing karaōke everyone walked it over to the blaisdell for the show. Now the show was okay, we were by far the youngest group there but yet we still had fun. That crazy Unilocaler ryan was mackin’ on some cougars that were sitting behind us and our group definitely knew how to «get down» and«boogie». These Unilocalers truely know how to have a good time and i’m glad they broke me out of my shy, quiet shell. Props to the Intern Thomas and big mahaloz to JON-JON, Anna Banana, Lei Lei, Sammayyy, Cass-E, 80’s-bon, Bubskeez, SUUUUUUZ, TIMMAY, JENNYFROMTHEBLOCK, Miami Vice, CIN-TA-MONEY, and RYYYAN. Until the next adventure. :) peace. love. Unilocal

My favorite elite event so far! Thank you to my bear packers for making me your«plus one» forever. haha. It was so nice to meet new & very friendly people. Try the awesomeness that is café duck butt(their soju is amaze balls!) but ill make a separate review about that. And dress in 80’s gear. The concert was fun even if i wasn’t really familiar with all the artists. Can’t wait till the next event!

My first elite event and I feel like the luckiest person! What a great time. Karaōke, meeting people I have only«met» through prose, and an awesome concert. I am one super happy Unilocaler who got to dress up in 80’s wear, hang with super cool people in 80’s wear, sing with super cool people and then dance the night away. Thank you Unilocal and Thomas O. without which this would not have happened! And, singing karaōke was so fun, I think more fun because of the awesome group. Yea! I look forward to more fun times in cool venues that I would not have ordinarily found with such great people!
