The poke bowls here are delicious(around $ 15)! I’m sure there are other places that have yummy poke bowls for half the price but since I’m new to the island, I have not found one yet. The Acai bowl is OK – nothing too delicious but not bad. They also have drinks next door which people seem to love but the hubby and I didn’t care for. I’m giving 4 stars based on taste of the poke bowl and the quality of service but only 3 stars because I thought everything else was just OK and really pricey! Tip: this place is located in the Royal Hawaiian shopping mall. Parking validation is free for the first hour with a purchase of at least $ 10(not hard to do here) and $ 1 every hour up to 3 hours(if I remember correctly) p.

If you love to eat local and organic/natural, then I’m guessing you might like to also buy local and organic body care products, like lotions, soap, and other things like that? No you say? Well then maybe I can change your mind if you go check out Island Vintage Organic & Natural. It’s located right next to the Island Vintage Coffee shop. I’m not quite sure if it’s owned by them, but when you look them up in the Royal Hawaiian Directory, it has the Island Vintage Coffee logo above it. What do they have? Locally made body care items and food items like tea, coffee and peanut butter. I think they mostly just sell their tea leaves loose and in a tin, so its perfect for people like me who hate trashing excess packaging. The peanut butters are in a few different flavors like regular, chocolate and coconut, made by North Shore Goodies. For the body care stuff, they have brands like Honey Girl Organics, Lanikai Bath & Body, and Hawaiian Bath & Body. I can’t remember the other brands. I love that they have all local Hawaii natural made companies in one place here. It’s kind of like walking into Whole Foods or Down To Earth to see these brands all collectively together, but in a boutique type of atmosphere. Samples are out to test the products. There are also tea samples to smell each flavor. The first time I went, the associate greeted me nicely. I was the only one in there at the time and I was taking my time checking all the stuff out. It kind of made me feel uncomfortable though as she would keep bothering me, making me feel like she had to keep an eye on me as if I planned to snatch stuff. The second time I went, there were multiple associates talking behind the counter. One greeted me and I wasn’t bothered. There were a lot more people in there shopping though so it wasn’t as awkward. This place is very small and narrow by the way. It’s a cute little shop if you want to go by yourself or with girlfriends to try on some good smelling plumeria or pikake lotions! I believe the prices were the same as what you would pay at other stores that carry this brand. I think they also carry gift baskets for certain brands(put together by the brand, not the store). Being natural and organic, the items are a little pricey, but definitely not unaffordable. But I’d be willing to pay a few dollars extra for something that is paraben, toxic and preservative free. Remember, what goes on your skin also goes through inside!
