I don’t feel I can trust this company with moving my pets if they won’t respond to my estimate request and then multiple phone calls and messages. I called five days after I sent in my estimate to even see if they got it and the woman on the phone confirmed and then told me I’d receive a phone call later the afternoon. They never called even after my messages nor do they answer their phone. Very unhappy with this service.

Still hate this company — owner is still incompetent and has never supplied me with what was promised, please do not use their services unless you want to waste +$ 500+ on their «supposed services» worst decision we EVER made. Go directly through ‘Pacific Air Cargo’.

I hope I can help someone and their pet from a very awful experience where the company has no caring interest for animals and how they are a part of our family. Please reconsider other options before picking this company! These are real lives we ate dealing with– and hopefully this company will realize that one day.

I was having problems figuring out how to fly my English bulldog from Oahu to the mainland. All the paperwork was so overwhelming, also the fact that he’s a snub nose breed. Thank god I found island pet movers they literally handled everything for me. It was completely stress free.

I have been trying to get a quote to ship my pet back to the mainland, but after weeks of asking still no reply back to my emails.

A neighbor recommended island pet movers and it was the best decision I made! They were so helpful and thorough with assisting with the relocation of our 2 Havanese dogs to the island!!! I would definitely recommend them as it does relieve the stress of dealing with all the details of bringing your pets to Hawaii! Kari and the staff were wonderful!!!

We recently used Island Pet Movers while transferring off Oahu. We started our quote months ago, but wanted more information before committing to the deposit ($ 200 non-​refundable). In the end, we paid the deposit only 2 weeks prior to leaving island. We did have to purchase a larger kennel for our bulldogge because of the extra space required due to being snub nosed, but they were able to supply and trade in our old kennel. We went to our own vet for all the health certificates and rabies, but they do offer those services.
Communication was through email, which was convenient and usually quick. The few times I tried to call in, I had trouble getting through to anyone and left messages with no response.
In the end, they came and picked up our dogs. The entire staff did excellent with the dogs, especially since they were out of sorts and nervous and protective. But the dogs did great and we were called as soon as the dogs were loaded on the airplane to reassure us that everything went great and the dogs were next to each other on the plane for comfort and security.
I would definitely recommend Island Pet Movers to anyone moving on or off island! Worth the extra cost to have the peace of mind, safety and security of having our family members arrive! Thank you to Kari and her staff!

We recently used Island Pet Movers to help get our two cats from Honolulu back to North Carolina. There was a hitch in the original flight that delayed their departure by 4 hours. Island Pet Movers checked in on the cats during the delay and made sure they had a chance to visit the litter box before they boarded the rescheduled flight. It was a relief to know that the cats were in good hands, allowing us to deal with other aspects of our move back to the mainland. I would definitely use them again!

We had to move our Boston terrier from Oahu back to the mainland in July. She’s higher risk for illness/​death in flight as she’s snubnosed, which was compounded by summer heat. Rather than try to figure this out on our own, we turned care over to Island Pet Movers.
Initially, we had arranged for them to pick her up at our house, but a last-​minute change in my travel plans meant I needed to drop her off early at their office. The staff was happy to accommodate this. They called to let me know when she got checked in for her flight (a cargo-​only flight where she was in the main cabin), and confirmed our delivery details on LA. Upon arrival in LA, the delivery driver called to let us know she was en route.
While using Island Pet Movers is probably a little more expensive than doing it yourself, it’s worth the added cost. It’s hassle free, and they tell you up front everything that’s needed to move your pet. While we won’t ever be moving back to Hawaii, I’d certainly use them again if we were.

SCAM COMPANY! Called for a quote, lady was extremely rude and said only request online and hung up on me. Applied online several times for a quote with no response. After asking my vet about this company; I was informed this is a SCAM and you don’t need them, you’re able to ship pets on your own. BEWARE…

Yes, you could do all the paperwork and get your dog through Hawaii’s maze of paperwork and quarantine procedures yourself. You could also dig your own swimming pool, mount your own tires, and try your hand at DIY hair cuts.
We are a military family that just PCSed to Hawaii, and there is already enough stuff to worry about. For a relatively small cost over what we would have paid for air freight had we shipped our dog ourself, we got the expertise of people who navigate this system day in and day out. What’s better, a guy like me who just had set foot on the island and couldn’t find the H3 yet getting into a debate with a state official over some random document, or someone who works with these officials every day talking you through the preparation and timing back on the mainland and then walking your paperwork through?
We had numerous scheduling changes (our fault, not theirs) and Island Pet Movers rolled with every punch seamlessly. Our dog arrived safe and sound, stayed out of quarantine, and the price was a bargain compared with the aggravation and stress they saved us. Well done Island Pet Movers!

They were an hour late to pick up our dog and were very relaxed about it. We were frustrated due to the fact we were trying to stay on schedule with our family travel itinerary and that we were paying them 3x as much as we had paid with another company.
Thankfully, they got our dog to the airport safely and she arrived fine. I could have done without the stress of wondering where they were for an hour and also if their tardiness would effect the flight for our dog.
I wouldn’t recommend them, but at least they got our dog to our destination!

I highly recommend Island Pet Movers! They moved my two Giant breed Scottish Deerhounds from LA to Honolulu overnight on Aloha Air Cargo! The special made crate for my boy was waiting for my husband at the airport! The dogs walked right into their crates! How easy was that!
Once they cleared Quarantine, they took the dogs to the park and spent time in their air conditioned office until their flight to Maui!
I picked them up at the Air Cargo terminal! Aloha Air Cargo let me keep the kennels there and we picked them up later in the day! How easy was that!
Excellent service! I would highly recommend them to anyone moving there animals!

Pet owners are worse than helicopter parents-​nothing is more important than my pet, and no one has ever loved their pet the way I love mine, and anything you say or do in regards to my pet will absolutely be used against you if it displeases me.
That being said, I did all the paperwork for moving my Rottweiler by myself. I planned on taking care of the entire process all by myself, because, as mentioned above, I know best when it comes to my pet. Except the Department of Agriculture has exhaustive rules and guidelines and links and addendums and caviats, and as soon as I thought I knew what I was doing, another piece of information seemed to contradict it-​I just didn’t want to deal with the stress of that, coupled with starting a new job and finding a place to live.
I decided to email Island Pet Movers for a quote, and was pleasantly surprised when I recieved a response immediately. I liked what I saw, even though it definitely would have been cheaper to move her myself, but I signed the contract and told them where I was in the process (I’m on island, dog is finishing up quarantine, send me the bill). To everyone saying it’s expensive-​sure! But my dog is a lot more than a dollar sign to me, so I will pay up for as long as I have her.
I’m guessing that a lot of the feedback from this site has been implemented, as all instructions that I recieved were incredibly specific and well, idiot proof. I also knew that calling with every question I had just because this was the most pressing thing on my brain would probably make me a phone number that they would avoid.
A month went by (here’s to doing things before they’re urgent!) and my dogs arrival was approaching– I received her itinerary. They asked for her measurements several times, and sent her crate to where she was staying. I asked if a service could pick her up, they arranged a service.
I trusted them to do their jobs, and even when I had «what if?» moments, I knew that this is how they make their living. When I sent an email, I got a response. When I called, they treated me as if I were not asking questions that they answer in their FAQ section or in all the paperwork they sent me. They were understanding, helpful, and low-​key, which really put me at ease.
If I had a client calling me continuously to ask me if I was sure I knew how to do my job, I would probably be much less kind than it seems they’ve been to their detractors. I am very grateful that my pup is here with me, sleeping on my feet and not in quarantine.

I didn’t actually use their services because it turned out that I was freaking out over nothing but I did get in contact with Kari and asked for her advice many times. Kari was so wonderful to my cat and I, directing what we should do to get my cat ready for travel which I appreciated because I was a wreck and had no idea what to do. Kari calmly and patiently gave me advice on how to approach our departure. Thank you so much and I recommend your services from now on! Mahalo!

I had THEE most stressful time trying to figure out how to take my Hawai’i born bunny with me back to the mainland, I was stressed about quarintine, vet appointments, and flight travel! The list can go on!
I called my pet sitter Erika M because she too ships pets FROM the island, however due to insurance issues she recommended Island Pet movers, and I was SAVED.
They tell you everything you need to do in order for them to ship your pet! Also, they offer discounts for military so there’s another plus!
They were friendly on the phone and and very very helpful in any questions I may have, which by the way was a lot!
They do as much as possible to make it worry free for you, and I can’t thank them enough for their service!
The lady that picked up my bunny was prompt and quick as well. The manager always answered our calls and emails were responded quickly. We even got another call/​text to make sure our pet arrived safely, which he did!
I was crying the few days before thinking I had to leave my bunny behind, but IPM truly helped us out! Mahalo for your service!

We were really happy with the service. At a stressful time they took the reigns and got the job done with little notice. Our little dog made it successfully to his location and that was our main concern.
We did have some confusion regarding the carrier. We sent the requested email with a picture of the carrier we had and never heard back from them until the day of the move. At the last minute we were forced to spend an extra $ 100 for a large pet crate which seemed excessive for a 14 lb. dog. Luckily that service was also provided. It was a suspicious confusion if you ask us. We were moving ourselves and didn’t have the time or energy to make the requested changes to our carrier.
As a suggestion for management: please provide pictures on your website for what you expect a reasonable carrier to look like. The description calls for «screws» to secure the top and bottom when in reality it could easily be secured with zip ties.
If you’re pressed for time and need help moving your pet this is a great service.

Kari and the staff are so friendly and get the job done! We had some bumps in the road throughout the trip (due to our end bringing our Jindo pup over from Korea) and Island Pet Movers promptly got things fixed. I will always use them from now on! So maybe I have just had poor luck with this company. I really wanted to have a story similar to everyone else’s, where they were treated like royalty and their fur babies were well taken care of. Instead, I have had the exact opposite experience. I have called them three times and every time I call, Tammy answers and treats me like I am inconveniencing her.
I put in a quote request and did not hear a word for over a week. Based off the reviews, I expected to hear something within a couple of days. When I called my good friend Tammy, she informed me that her coworker was just about to start the quotes and that I would hear back soon. A week went by and still nothing. I called Tammy back and, once again, she was very rude. She curtly told me that her coworker would finish the current quote and that she would start working on mine. Then she informed me that if the flight is more than a couple of weeks out, that most airlines will not even book pets. Wouldn’t that be useful information to list on the website? Or maybe an email to the customer who is patiently putting their life on hold would be in order. But maybe my expectations are too high for this company.
So, my apologies for the inconvenience, Tammy. I’m sorry that I treat my dog like a member of the family. I’m sorry that you have so much disdain for your job that you treat every customer like a nuisance. Don’t worry, Tammy, you probably will never have to hear from me again.
And to Island Pet Movers? Maybe you guys really are awesome. I would never know because you hired a misanthrope to front your company. You might want to reconsider your hiring practices.

Literally worked our pet move in one day!
We have a boxer, snub nose breed, Our plan fell though to ship him out. Snub nose breed’s can’t travel on most airlines when the temp is above 75 degrees. We tried Delta Dash, Alaskan Air, and several other airlines… too hot, snub nose, or no summer program were some of the reasons…
The only negative thing I will say is when we originally called for a quote the person that works up the quote was going to be out of office for a few days. So instead of waiting on quote we opted to rearrange my husband’s flight and hotel reservation to allow him and our boxer to fly out on the military aircraft departing 2 days after my/​kids departure (more expense and worry, but an option). The Military aircraft would only take them as far as California after California we would be physically and financially responsible to fly both my husband and Boxer from California to Florida, which is our new assignment location and still have to worry about the 75 degrees (or rent a car in California and drive).
The day after we rearranged tickets we received a quote and island pet shipper had a firm plan at a fair price. It cost us less than have of what we were projecting to pay! It cost Appox $ 800.00!
Guess what I wrote this review while waiting for our boxer arrival. He just arrived safe, sound and happy! Thanks again team.
My recommendation to pet owner’s is to request a quote online approximately 2 weeks early so are not stressed. When you receive a quote you like submit the contract. This company knows what it is doing and will get your puppy where it needs to be!
