Island Express Shuttle

They provide the worst service! I scheduled a pick up online to take myself and my husband to the airport for the following day. It is 10 minutes past the scheduled pick up time, my husband calls and they say that we never scheduled a pick up even though we have a confirmation email, and our account was charged! Thankfully, there were several taxis in front of our hotel and we were able to get a ride to the airport right away. I will not recommend them to anyone!

The absolute worst. I would give it 0 stars if I could. They are in business with Aqua oasis (the hotel we stayed at) and the shuttle they cater to.
We were screwed two different times. One at Pearl Harbor where they showed up late for initial pick up and over 45 minutes late for our departure to go home. (They pick up multiple parties on the way to where ever they are going (we were the only people going to Pearl Harbor out of their 13 person van))
The second time was when we were supposed to be picked up from our hotel to go to the airport. We had a flight at 6:50pm. At 10am I made reservations. They insisted they had a shuttle no later than 4pm so we decided to reserve that time to be safe. We showed up at 3:50 to find no shuttle. The hotel front desk called the receptionist who said «they were there» and the next shuttle they could get us on was 5pm (WHICH THEY REFUSED TO OFFER US INITIALLY). The front desk informed us they were calling our name at 3pm… I had to call island express for the second time in regards to our reservations.
The receptionist at island express shuttle is named Marie Phan. She was constantly rude, not helpful and dishonest in the information she provided us in regards to my two interactions with her on the phone. Not only was she not professional on the phone but she would blatantly lie to my face about when shuttles would come (even with reservations) and had the «deal with it attitude.»
I encouraged the Aqua oasis hotel to seize business with this shit service and look for other forms of reliable transpiration from their hotel.

WARNING — DO NOT USE THIS SHUTTLE SERVICE!
We were recommended to them by our hotel (Marriott in Waikiki) to use this shuttle service to the airport. We booked the 1245 shuttle to get to the airport for our flight at 255 and was told to meet at least 10 minutes early. The shuttle was not there and we called the number 4 times only to be answered by a rude distracted lady that would only say that they were arriving «soon».
The shuttle arrived 20 minutes late and when we questioned the male driver, he yelled «it’s not my fault!» …Er, is it our fault? He then told us we should have taken a taxi. …OKAY.
Proceeded to talk on the phone while cussing and driving erratically. We had to tell him the light was green because he was writing on a piece of paper. And then when we arrived at the airport, he told us that we could not get a discount even though he was super late AND rude. We paid via credit card and when we were leaving, he called us back to accuse us of canceling the transaction.
We had a lovely beautiful vacation and was still enjoying it until this horrible encounter. Way to leave a sour taste in our mouth as a way to end our vacation.
Do not use this shuttle. Might as well take a taxi (we had multiple taxis come up to us since we were waiting for almost half an hour and offered us a discount.)

Using this service to/​from Pearl Harbor seemed like a great idea til the the driver picking us up took us way out of our way costing us an hour of vacation time plus delays from additional traffic after we got back to the starting point that pretty lame waste of time on vacation.

Island Express Shuttle was prompt at picking us up at our hotel; the driver was very courteous and helpful. With the fare being at $ 12.00 per person, it was a great price. I highly recommend them to out-​of-​towners and I would use them again when I visit Honolulu.

Glad my hotel advised me of shuttle to airport. Service was GREAT and Yes we do have traffic in Hawaii so try to leave earlier than you would plan for your trip back to the airport. Our driver was friendly and also shared with other happy guests on their vacation heading home to California.

The bad news: the shuttle did not show up at the requested time (or ever). When I called the dispatcher, was told there was no record of our reservation & the soonest I could get a shuttle would be another 30 – 45 minutes (possibly miss our flight home). Took a cab instead.
The good news: they were extremely good & quick about refunding my $$ for the screwup. Also, assuming you do get a shuttle, the price is outstanding.

12 $ to get from my hotel to the airport what a steal! they were on time. prob because i was the only one they were picking up that day.

On 2/​25, 3pm, company shuttle license plate RDT 149 driving erratically, accidentally crossing into other lanes.
I called the company to inform them, and the woman that answered said, «I’ll talk to him.»
I asked her to repeat the license plate I gave her and she could not. She didn’t even bother to write it down.
Great. How are you planning to talk to him, then?

do not use this company they are scamming people $$$$ once they show up with extra charges not posted anywhere. got us for an extra 10 $! same price as cab to hnl from waikiki. forget the speeding like a bat outta hell crazy on the h1. stay safe. say no!!! take speedi shuttle or cab. same price and much safer!!!

Shuttles might be ok coming from the airport, but next time, I will cab it TO the aiport.
Too many stops… 15 minutes late showing up. We were stressing to get there.
Freeway was stopped up with traffic.

They were a bomb for me.
It seemed like a simple airport pick-​up. Made the reservation and pre-​paid online three days before. Called to make sure they got the reservation, airline, flight number and the guy on the other end assured me there will be no problem. Either there would be a shuttle waiting for me or it would only be a few minutes wait. Cool.
After my on-​time flight arrival, I went out to the designated curb and there was no sign of an Island Express Shuttle Plenty of others were there. I called and the lady I spoke with had no idea who I was or that their company was picking anyone up at the airport. After I gave her my reservation number she sounded like I was a burden to her and said «Well, we can have a van out there in forty-​five minutes.» Say what?
I immediately asked for a refund and used one of the shuttles that were actually at the airport and were about the same price ($ 13-​$ 15 is average to Waikiki for a shared van).
From the shuttle driver that I used, Vina Shuttle, I learned you don’t really need to pre-​pay when taking a shared van out of HNL.
I was going to give them two stars based on the quick refund but decided on one when i noticed the refund was a dollar short. You guys can keep my dollar, I’ll keep my one star review.

Our first time using this shuttle service. We took it from Honolulu Intnl. airport to Aulani Resort at Ko’Olinga. The service was great. Since this was our first time using a shuttle service we were a little nervous about the van being there. We were pleasently surprised when we found our driver/​owner was there EARLY and waiting. We were charged a flat rate for a group of 4 of about $ 50 (approx.). The driver was very professional and courteous. My wife’s luggage was picked up by at the carousel by mistake so we had to wait for her bag to show up, meanwhile our driver patiently waited. We searched Unilocal prior to taking our trip to find an affordable shuttle service, but with all of the shuttles «how do you pick one?», so we settled on this one. Great decision! I will use them again on our next visit to Oahu. We arranged to be picked up at the Aulani resort at the same time as our original pick up, and again… he was early. I recommend this shuttle service.

I really don’t understand the 5 prior reviews on here regarding this company.
We got to the hotel and asked about a first-​thing-​in-​the-​moring visit to Pearl Harbor. The Hotel set us up with Island Express and told us when to be picked up to get to Pearl when I wanted to. The small Asian driver (Marie Phan) was all business. I wasn’t told about the numerous stops that would be made along the way. Nor how crowded the small van would become by the time we left Honolulu proper.
There were passengers on their way to the airport, to a flea market, and to Pearl Harbor. It took us over an hour to get there. A cab would have taken 20 min.
Also, she seemed down right offended when we didn’t buy a round trip pass. We had made arrangements with a tour company to be picked up at Pearl and shown other sights for 6 hours, so we had no need for a round tirp. She charged us $ 18 each for the trip. Our cab to the airport the next day was $ 40 for both. For $ 2 we could have gotten to Pearl 40 min. sooner.
The other passengers were as concerned and disappointed as we were on the ride. We were squeezed into seating without seat belts available for all passengers. We were forced to sit tightly against strangers and the person seated next to me had to sit two rows away from the person they were traveling with.
Of most concern, however, was the driving of Ms. Phan. While driving throug the streets of Honolulu and on the freeway, she took phone calls (one time she had two people on hold while talking to a third!) from hotels and from what seemed to be other shuttle drivers (was she the owner/​boss?). Not only phone calls, but picked up a clip board and rested it on the steering wheel while driving and writing and talking on the phone taking reservations!!! Scary for more than just me. At one point she was on the feeder lane onto the freeway and was running out of lane. She was going about 20 mph talking, writing and driving and litterally forced a car out of thier lane moving some 50 mph. It was very dangerous.
I reported this to the hotel who recommended her when we got back and they seemed to take it serously. I don’t have any idea what sort of kick back arrangements go on there in Honolulu between hotel staff and shuttle/​tour companies. But this woman is a hazzard to your health!

$ 12 from HNL to my hotel (gave $ 20, no change on me). Less than an hour. Stupid thing though took me half hour to spot the van. If I was with my husband he’d have thrown a fit. I was by myself so was a bit peeved but if it saves me over half off cost of a cab, I’ll live.
$ 11 from hotel to HNL. Full house with 10 people. I still managed to get to airport in half hour.

Very friendly! We got off our tour bus in Pearl because we wanted to skip the city tour and Island Express took us on the spot in their shuttle w/​o prior arrangements. Was much more affordable than a taxi ride and the ride was smooth and easy.

Punctual, friendly and got us to our hotel direct. Great bargain at $ 22 one way for 2 people!
Highly recommend.

Upon my return from Samoa this summer, I relied on my colleagues @ Unilocal to guide me toward an airport transportation service. The last trip home, I waited for 20 mins to catch a cab that would accept credit cards & thought, if I were going to wait that long, I mine as well use an economical service with favorable reviews. I called 2 places that came up on the search function and both had recordings that indicated the staff were on ‘summer vacay’ and were not providing shuttle service.
IET radio’d their drivers to see who was near the airport for my immediate pick up, while I waited on the other line. Once confirmed, they directed me where to meet and the driver met me within 20 mins of my call. Actually, he was waiting for me for 5 mins, since my luggage hadn’t made it down the conveyor & I was grateful that he waited, since I planned to hustle to work that morning.
The drive home toward Waiks was expedient & the driver made pleasant small talk as we drove. I would HIGHLY recommend them for their excellent customer service and value. $ 11 brought me safely home, in a clean, air conditioned van that I didn’t have to share w/​anyone.

Normally I don’t like to use off-​brand shuttle services as you don’t know what to expect, but this service was just as good (or better) than Super Shuttle and at a great price ($ 10 to/​from the airport)… ridiculously cheap.
My hotel recommended Island Express, and I now recommend it to you. I used them to/​from Pearl Harbor and also for my return trip back to the airport.
Service was great, and they pick you up from whatever hotel you are staying at in a nice air-​conditioned van. Drivers are friendly, and can give you tips and local knowledge about the area.
