Indigo Green Room Lounge

Came here after dinner, killing time before an 8:15 pm HIFF (Hawaii International Film Festival) movie at Dole Cannery. The place was pretty empty with the DJ spinning reggae vinyl to a room of six people. The two bartenders were nice, not pushy, making pupu suggestions (sorry, we just ate, but thanks).
I had their Italian Lemon Drop Martini made with Tuaca (4 stars) and my friend had a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. I followed up this sort of sweet libation with a Tennessee Honey Jack and (not really) Ginger. One of my favorite drinks is a Jack & Ginger made from Jack Daniels (or other bourbon like Jefferson, oh baby!) and ginger beer (like Reed’s Extra Ginger Brew or Natural Brew’s Outrageous Ginger Ale) with a twist of lemon and muddled mint. But in this case, the Green Room Lounge didn’t have either but the bartender said he could make ginger ale (what?!) First off, I don’t know why a bar wouldn’t have ginger ale. Anyhoot, he made a mixture of Sprite & Coke and it tasted similarly like a ginger ale (what voodoo magic is this?!) I added a slice of lemon and we were in business (3 stars).
Feeling good, we headed to our HIFF movie. What a pleasant Wednesday evening that hinted as if it were the weekend rather than a few hours’ diversion.
