Visited owner Sandy to pick up baby jade bracelets for my daughter. I stopped by last year before she was born and was advised to come back after she was born and grew up a bit so we could find bracelets that matched her personality, which is funloving, a bit rascal, and quite the fashionista. Sandy helped me pick out two that both my daughter and wife will love. Mahalo to Helen and David for being a Chinatown landmark with outstanding customer service!

Recently I was gifted a beautiful watch, but the glaring problem? far too large for my wrist. Since it was purchased overseas, I had to find my own method to get it resized. A quick search on Unilocal lead me to Helen & David. Located on a busy street in Chinatown, it wasn’t exactly easy to find, but it’s one of those stores you pass by a lot but never really notice. I showed the sales associate the watch on my wrist and she deduced 3 links would be enough. $ 5 and 10 minutes later… my watch fit perfectly!

I would come back to this place again and again to get my watches resized. Over the phone, they quoted $ 5. I brought in my stainless steel moto 360. He asked how many segments I had to knock off and I didn’t know. I wore it on my wrist, fastened, and held it out like that dude in that subway commercial held out his jeans post weight loss. He looked at it a moment, answered 5 segments and requoted $ 5. Five bucks! He took around ten minutes and the thing fit perfectly. Super snug. He also handed me back the pieces(to put back on if my wrist expands). This is excellent workmanship and I would’ve easily paid $ 20. Super quick and insanely cheap. Five dollars!

Looking for honest people in china town ? Might get tough. However it’s been long time since I met honest couple like auntie Helen and uncle David. It’s true. Hard working people who won’t try and up sell you on items ‚ China town stores mainly sell Hawaiian jewelry, diamond rings, and a lot of pearls and jade ‚ If you like touristic items this is the place. Im not sure but according to some old people they actually the first or second to people to open the store in king St. like 30 years ago, Prices are fair costumer service is superb My mom got a pearl necklace from them an she stil using it 7 years later(they string it very well I guess) Auntie Helen one of the nicest people on the island and for the rude guy that say that she look like vampire, you should be ashamed, she is older lady and if she like sun or not is NOT your Bzns. Plus she old enough to be your mom, thats a rude and cruel comment. shame on u. In any case. Fun store in china town, they speak 5 languages(the owner sandy is 28 and fluent English !!!) stop by and take a look around, they have so many items at great price.

Bottom Line: Good place for Hawaiian Jewelry at reasonable prices. I’ve had a ring resized here and I’ve also bought some bands for my parents. Nice and honest service at good and competitive prices. Ask for Helen, and you’ll meet a nice lady who can help you out!
