Although small, this place holds everything you need for hydroponics! I walked in to be greeted by Roy and his cute little chihuahua(and I’d like to add that I was impressed at how well behaved the little one was). I was looking specifically for growing medium to start my seedlings. I found exactly what I needed and was excited to know it was only $ 12.95 because I just came from two places where the same material and quantity was selling for $ 45. I’m glad I kept looking and didn’t settle at my first two stops. Before I left I also stopped to look at their seedlings. They had two types of kale, three types of basil, an assortment of lettuce, bakchoy, bell peppers… I grabbed 4 plants each a $ 1. I definitely left a happy camper and will be back again.

Had a pretty awesome experience here with Hawaiian Hydroponics. — Very welcoming and helpful! — Product knowledge was on point. You can tell that they know this business inside and out. — Competitive pricing! Even compared to online sellers. Overall, I’d highly recommend this shop for any gardening or hydroponics needs. They have everything!

Excellent selection and service. I went in quite a few times while setting up my miniature aquaponics garden for my classroom and they where super helpful. I was nervous at first because I was doing aquaponics and this is a hydroponics store but they still helped me. They have a great selection of plants that are already started as well as everything else you could ever need and when I explained that I was on a teacher budget the worker even suggested a few cheaper alternatives that where at other stores! Over all just a great little place.

I’ve been a customer here for a long time and never really thought about leaving a review. But now I am! This place is fantastic for any type of herb or fruit The selection of soil is only the best choices you can choose from. I really enjoy ocean forest soil. I have been using it for years. It goes hand and hand with a fabric type pot because it let’s the roots breath and doesn’t heat up in the sun like those plastic ones. And thire plastic! Ewww! If you feel the need to add nutrients then boy o boy they have a selection. Anything from the very beginners to the die hard pros. I stick with a few things and make sure my PH is correct(they also have test kits!) And what a difference. Don’t feel to overwhelmed because there are many routes you can go to achieve your garden. If you have a question(I had many) they are more than informational.
And ofcourse they have the best hydro equipment available. Tents, lights, pumps, etc. If they don’t have. They can get it. Awesome prices!!! Great deals!!! All and all great people. Great price. Great education. Support Local!

I thought they were a great hydro store. They seemed really friendly to me and my little girls when we entered. They were very informative when helping me on what to do with my gardening. And what I needed. Very educated and the best part to me is that I can call them and they will take the time to talk me through things over the phone. Especially cause I live so far. They have everything. Alittle pricey but I’d rather do that instead of waiting for shipments. Thanks Hawaiian hydroponics! See you folks soon!

Hawaiian Hydroponics has everything to offer for what I need when it comes to my small nursery of trees that I germinated from seed. They offered great advice towards my concern of what the proper damp-dry conditions should be for my potted plants. They diagnosed a fungus fly problem for me. They have given me excellent service. I read the post by another customer suggesting a marijuana cover up by cigarettes. I think he should be litigated for libel for putting such a suggestion on Unilocal.I noticed no smoke smell in this place.

I walk in, and the first thing that hits me is the overwhelming stink of stale cigarette smoke. Isn’t that illegal, I’m thinking? Must be to cover up the weed dank, because that’s the only reason an adult in America would choose to smoke inside on a bright, beautiful Hawaiian day. Whatever. I just need a solution-starter for green leafy vegetables in a static hydroponic system. Nothing fancy. In fact, I might not even buy it, since everything of this sort is usually cheaper on Amazon. So I’m really here to price things out, and see if they have some other things I might need/want. The place is a bit disordered with no signs anywhere, and the person behind the counter seems gruff and irritable. So rather than looking around, and risking the«are you one crackhead» glare, I just ask her. «That’s not going to work,» she replied when I tell her what I’m going to do. She tells me things I already know, because I’ve done my research and even taken a college-level class on the subject. She recommends something more expensive, and more complicated. No, thank you. There’s a reason why I chose my set-up as it is. Thanks for nothing, Hawaiian Hydroponics & Garden. Next stop, Amazon.
