For the past 29 years, Hawaiian Accessories has achieved success by offering the very best in authentic koa wood jewelry. Native Hawaiians Curtis and Leslie Wilmington started out in 1986 showcasing their unique koa jewelry at cultural events such as The Merrie Monarch Festival and the arrival of Hokulea celebration. The local response was immediate and rewarding, leading them to open a store in the Windward Mall in 1989. After 10 years there they relocated to the Ala Moana Center where they have remained after 14 years. Having backgrounds in the travel industry, Leslie and Curtis realized the need for authentic Hawaiian gifts and created a high quality line of products that perfectly suited the visitor market. The response visitors took to Hawaiian Accessories merchandise resulted in the opening up of stores in the Outrigger Hotel next door to Duke’s Restaurant, The Waikiki Beach Marriott and The Outrigger Reef Hotel.
